The line repeated most often?
"………", 2471 times.

Yes, I have too much time on my hands. Have to do something to drive away the boredom of editing thousands of lines of text. Besides, knowing which lines are duplicates might help when checking for consistency later.
Might be something to think about if the group decides to do another one of these tanslations... build a bot or something to quickly identify the highly-used lines... and post those first... translate them ... and go back put them into the files... i dunno, maybe too much work for too little gain...

Consistency checking of Clannad is going to be a nightmare.... thats all i know.

Now my fun facts...

With 1916 lines translated, I've added 88,585 bytes of english... "// " accounts for 5748 bytes... so that leaves about 43 bytes to the average line of english, including spaces and etc. Wikipedia people claim that the average word length including a space is 6 bytes... so 7.17 words per line. Hm.. so 13,738 words thus far in Seen 6801.... feels about right.

So over all the lines in Clannad, if these hold true, then 734,029 words in the clannad game in english.

My too much free time tells me they're 92.58% done (going by lines) with the translation, with only 7593 lines to go, mostly in 6800 and 6802.

Ah ha, a friend was suggesting something similar for another project I'm working on. Actually, this wouldn't be *too* hard. It might take a few minutes to process all the data but I think it's an easy application.

Maybe I'll code it and run it on the Clannad scripts and post a small wiki page with the information so people can check it over.

No need to duplicate effort, it's already done.

Might be useful, if your going to write one now... for it to work with the current scripts as seen on the wiki... and pull all the various translations made... may help with the consistancy check.. see things that we will need to root out of the script

By the way, I saw that you finalized like 1/4 of the script already. Impressive, if I may say so myself. Maybe your pace is for Wednesday.

Soon, very soon, there will only be 2 unbolded SEENs on the chart. This is the beginning of the end.

I didn't see your previous post. If you could upload it or something, that'd be nice, otherwise I'll have to code something similar anyway.

If you're going to be using it on another project, then you should probably write your own. The program I wrote makes a lot of assumptions about the formatting of the script files, so it's not portable.

As for uploading, where would I put it? On the translation wiki?

Todkapuz, are you doing 1 pass of TL Cleanup, or 2 passes? From your edit summary of the first 1/4, I couldn't tell whether you meant that you are cleaning up your first pass, or if you are doing a first pass of cleanup.

To be honest, I Dont really know... I'm sure I'll find something every time I look at it.. ... but pretty much other than this once though, whats there is what I'll offer... probably will still not fit guidelines or be consistent with the other seens though

6802 seems like a utterly depressed Tomoya... a very lively and cool Sanae-san.... and a confused Ushio.

EDIT:
2/3
And now we're at ~6700 lines left to go... thats what.. 1000 lines in about a week?

Correction, make that ~ 5500 lines left.. V7 just laid down all of 6800/1

so thats actualyl 2200 liens in about a week... although not sure how long V7 actualyl was working on /1

So that brings 6800 to ~66% done and 6802 to ~20% done.... the end times are near!

V7 was working on it for 12 days, so he's been going at 100 lines a day. You've also been going at 100 a day, laying down 800 in like 8 days. Therefore, the present average is 200 lines a day,

So, at 5500 lines, that is 27.5 days until completion ETA. That would be March 2nd.

In other words, you're doing great! *Grabs a cheerleader megaphone* Go translators, go!

Since I got bored, I made a little timetable of projected finishes at the present rate. Let's see how far off I am. LOL

February 9 - Velocity7 completes SEEN 6800/2 - Actually complete 02/06/08
February 9 (12) - Velocity7 completes SEEN 6800/3
February 14 (18) - Blatt completes SEEN 6800/6 - Actually complete 02/10/08
February 13 (16) - Velocity7 completes SEEN 6800/4 - Actually complete 02/11/08
February 16 (19) (22) (28) - Todkapuz/Blatt completes SEEN 6802 First Pass - Actually complete 02/14/08
February 16 (23) (26) - Velocity7 completes SEEN 6800/5
February 17 (19) (22) (25) (3/1) - Todkapuz completes SEEN 6802 Second Pass
February 17 (19) (22) (23) (25) (3/1) - End of Translation Phase

Italics - Incorrect Prediction
Bold - Correct Prediction
Parentheses - Initial position adjusted due to incorrect predictions.

Translation takes a while, right?

I think I never will be no-life enough to do this translating thing.

depends on who is doing the translation and what is being translated.... I've had about 3-5 years of experience with Japanese... I'm pretty good with formal japanese.. but when people like Akio are talking.... everything is out the door... ... it's funny... sometimes I'll do a ilne a minute.... some lines have taken me hours to do... it's fun though.... although on days like today where I worked until 8:30pm.... don't erally feel like translating...

So where can I find the most recent working translation patch though?
Apart from Baka-tsukai. (to be truthful I have no idea how the SEEN things work, How do you use them?)

Copy and paste them over the Japanese SEEN file already in the Clannad folder.
