i've just finish monster ... and ... i ********** love it specially the ending ... also i finsih Higurashi no naku koro ni now its my 2nd fav anime (1st The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

and Death Note inspired me to watch monster and higurashi but .. I WANT MORE! a type of these anime... but not too much of fantacy.. monster and higurashi was alright ... logical, realistic ... bloodshed ...
ooo also i liked Detective Academy Q

if you liked TMOHS try Ouran Koukou Host Club, School Rumble or Welcome to The NHK

Also try Hellsing and Elfen Lied for some higurashi like....

mmm thx for replying but .. i want more mystery type ones ... like Monster, and Higurashi/DeathNote ...
ooo and i just started Spiral. looks alright .. but the characters are too simple and common to DAQ .. O_O ..

i noe there is more of these animes out there!! anyone?

Gankutsuou maybe ? Give the first episode a try. The animation style is different from the norm and some people don't like it.

I didn't like Gankutsuou. I waited the entire anime for him to discover he was the Count's son, but in the end he wasn't, and I was like why the hell did I waste my time on this crappy anime.

It's not a spoiler, really. Unless you've read the Cristo book or seen the movie and have expectations, which as I found out wasn't a very healthy way to view this particular anime.

Yes, the anime is different from the novel, and that's what gives it originality. After all, if you know the story, it won't be too much fun to see it again.

Gankutsuou is a drama of a boy who finds out the world and the human feelings don't follow idealism. There are more interesting ideas shaped in that anime and all of them come packaged in a overtly flamboyant and dramatic presentation. I've greatly enjoyed it, personally. ^^
