wohoo...now that the new season is starting im just about checking every new series at least once so being 13 mins long was rather appealing

Anyway, I am dying to see the latter half of Doujin Work, which is supposedly a live-action segment? I wonder if they will continue with this method (first half anime, second half live-action) or was it just for the first episode? I am truly hoping that we will see the entire time slot dedicated to just the anime at some point.

Its goes MUCH further in the manga. She says that she is using paper and pencils, and Najimi even agrees to be "taught" how to "use" paper (because she kinda guessed how to "use" pencils)...maaaan, and they just skipped over this gold mine.

After watching first episode - it was kinda flat, i think. Basically there is a single joke in the whole episode, the one in the train. I guess even 10 mins is too much for this kinda thing.

On the other hand, ED animation was kinda neat, and i liked the part in the OP where all girls "perked up" left then right, and only one of them jiggled.

I'm not expecting Genshiken or anything out of this series but as long as it doesn't go the way of comic party which I couldn't even stomach the first 7 or so episodes I'll keep watching. The VAs for this were not what I expected but fit the characters. Only negative is probably Hiroyuki's embellished expressions didn't carry over so well. As expected the reactions on 2chan quite mixed. OP is cute and the ED is simple and forgettable. __________________

I didn't expect or want Genshiken, but it seemed a bit limp. Then the story started rushing forward, and there was some good comedy. The director, Yatani Kenichi, did Renkin 3-kyuu Magical? Pokahn, which I thought was well done. He has better material to work with here, and has made a good start. It took Asano Masumi (Najimi, Mariya in Otoboku) a while to get her mojo working, it seemed to me, but she was right there by the end. And I really loved Saitou Momoko (Choko in Chokotto Sister) as Tsuyuri. However, the similarity to Lucky Star begins and ends with the location. This is nice, but that is in a higher league altogether, in every way. __________________ Tamura Yukari 田村ゆかり age 36.
