Wow, they actually didn't commit the cardinal sin of adaptations and make Constantine needlessly American.

This looks pretty cool, actually. I will definitely check this out.

I liked the movie, liked not loved. So I am willing to give this series a try. Moreover, it will be an alternative to Supernatural that had been losing steam since the conclusion of the Apocalypse arc (it should have stopped here).

Nice. I enjoy the movie and since the series looks faithful to the Hellblazer comics, i might give it a watch.

So a new Constantine ? Well I liked the movie with Keanu Reeves. But this trailer makes it look more of a horror, I am up for watching it O_o

I'm probably not going to watch this, but it's nice to have a comic-accurate Constantine on the screen, and is that Dr. Fate's helmet I spot in the second trailer .

Pilot on download, will post impressions later.
Also, John won't smoke on this series, per NBC policy, any thoughts on that?

I guess some people would probably complain about it, but personally I never like chimney characters :v so this won't affect me.

On one hand, this looks like a good show, and I'd definitely watch

On the other hand, NBC has a track record of canceling any show that has actual plot

That was a great pilot, my fear is people will draw comparisons to Supernatural.

I enjoyed the Keanu interpretation but this one seems closer to the mark.
(The mark here being Sting. ^_^)
A Constantine that doesn't smoke... that is gonna get tough to get used to.

the pilot was quite nice, a little rushed and fast i thought, there was no breathing time between scenes. it would be fine for a later episode, but starting ones they should leave some time for the viewer to adjust to the surrounding.
the premises looks great, dark magic, supernatural and horror.

and have not seen the movie nor read the comics, so i don't really know what the source material is, but as a new viewer into this story, this series looks very good.

Matt Ryan seems to be doing a good job at it, and his accent , uh, can't help but imagine edward kenway casting magic spells and fighting demons, lol

I personally enjoyed the first episode, and after some reading up on the comics... well, I'm curious as to where they're going to go with this, especially the Astra and NewCastle plotline. The only fear I currently have is whether or not this show will be cancelled prematurely, since that seems to be the fate of any show about the supernatural on NBC.

Decent first episode. Some solid world building (with some nice Easter eggs), albeit a little too expository at times, mixed with some solid character beats, good horror and decent acting. The emphasis on a character POV that immediately leaves the show is a little disconcerting, but obviously the actress or the character just didn't click, so the creators added some scenes and bumped her from the series. Thankfully, she wasn't simply replaced without any real word starting next episode; the creators actually seem to have re-shot the ending just to set-up a new character who will take the place of the recently departed.

Constantine isn't Hellblazer, but then again there is no way it could be on network television. (Which is kind of silly when you think about it, considering characters like Peter Griffith are just as bad if not worse than the comic version of Constantine, yet we will never get to see that version of Constantine on screen (at least not on NBC).) Still this adaptation is a lot of fun, and while rough Ryan nails a strong part of Constantine. Consider me officially eager to see just what will come next.

Hopefully the connection to DC will keep the show alive for at least the first season.
