We have yet to see any sign of artificial humans being tougher than normal ones beyond the magic boost. Fate certainly has shown no sign of this.

As for Signum... Signum just got injured more. The uterus impalement aside, she also got slashed open prior to that. Literally, slashed open. From shoulder to hip, both left and right. Twice. The fact that she was even in one piece is already a small miracle.

That aside, does anything think that Barrier Jackets and Round Guarders are basically the same type of magic, just different in application and appearance?

Or that Barrier Jackets are significantly different from Personal Kekkai + Barrier Spell + Shut Up, It Looks Cool.

Unlikely. So far most of Artificial Mages were either fragile speedsters (Fate, Erio), squishy wizards (Scaglietti), or terminally ill (Zest). I wouldn't bet on artificial mages having much more durability than vanilla humans.

Nah, the cuts weren't THAT deep. I'd imagine if they were as deep as you describe, they'd gape open or some guro like that but they don't.

I do still wonder, however, whether there will be some delicious scars left afterwards.

Yup, that's pretty much what Tsuzuki has been doing all along.

I'm only describing what I'm seeing here:

The cuts go all the way to her back, so they're quite deep. Yeah, by all means she should be in pieces. Goes to show how tough Wolkies are.

I wouldn't quite believe what you see in the manga. It tends to be overdone. After all, by the same logic, Nanoha should have been cut in half in the movie 1st manga.

Yeah, but the movie 1st manga is non-canon anyway. The injury thing quite efficiently retconned by Hayate's injury in Force. Yes, I will readily admit the manga overdoes things (seriously, these injuries should mean Signum is in four pieces) but their severity compared to, say, Hayate or Vita's injuries means that I can't call the wounds superficial either. They are without a doubt the most serious injuries any of the cast members have suffered to date.

IMO the discrepancy between the image I cited and yours shows that the even the author and the artist themselves can't make up their minds about the severity of Signum's cross-slash.

Considering we're still gettin fanservice images of Signum with perfectly fine skin and the fact we know Vita is absolutely clean after being impaled in StrikerS, i find that doubtful.

To compare, Vita coughs some blood and is bleeding in the chest area, on the other hand, Signum was taking a bath in a pool of her own blood xDU

Yeah, but maybe she will opt to keep them until she's defeated Cypha or something.

And taking into account how Signum didn't gave a heck about her battle with Cypha and decided to become marshmallow lady instead, i find that even more doubtful.

The ice-throwers used by firefighters in StrikerS eps. 1 - were they magical?

Most likely. The Mid runs on magic.

I finally founded a conversation between the two, it was on Ch. 9 just after the famous SIGNUM PUNCH! on Teana's face(don't worry, she held back xD). Subaru called Signum on her prejudge on Teana's efforts to become stronger, then Shari comes to the scene and we get the recap of S1/A's xD

There is also "Signum trains forwards" scene in manga. And... nah, just checked, in "Meaning of Strength" one that poked Signum was Alto (former co-workers, duh).

What were the Ranks of Signum, Vita, Shamal, Vice, Erio, Caro, Teana, and Subaru both before and after StrikerS?

Military ranks or mage ranks?

Military. But since you mentioned it might as well add the mage ranks

Also, has there been any instance of telepathic conference between more that two people? I'm trying to figure why the characters frequently use verbal communications instead of telepathic, which I assume to be more secure.

I tried to make a table of it, but blame AS forum engine for screwing it up.

Character | Military rank before | Military rank after | Mage rank before | Mage rank after
Signum | 1st Lieutenant | No change | S- (Air) | No change
Vita | 2nd Lieutenant | No change | AAA+ (Air) | No change
Shamal | None | No change | AA+ (Synthetic) | No change
Vice | Sergeant | Sergeant Major | B+ (Ground) | No change
Erio | Private, 3rd class | Private, 2nd class | B (Ground) | AA (Ground)
Caro | Private, 3rd class | Private, 2nd class | C+ (Ground) | A+ (Synthetic)
Teana | Private, 2nd class | None | C (Ground) | AA (Ground)
Subaru | Private, 2nd class | Private, 1st class | C (Ground) | AA (Ground)

A few notes:

- Shamal seems to have no rank but a position of Chief Medical Officer.
- TSAB has the ranks Private 1st Class, Private 2nd Class, and Private 3rd Class (literal translation from Japanese). The English wiki translates them as Corporal, Private 1st Class, and Private.
- Technically, Teana and Subaru were ranked C (Ground) before StrikerS, but they are promoted to B (Ground) by episode 2.
- Teana quit the Armed Forces after StrikerS to become an Enforcer, so she has no active military rank. If Fate's example is to be taken universally indicative, Enforcer corresponds to Captain.
- Subaru is a Sergeant in Force.
