You should have Tomoya's Classmate listed as well... since he is Shiraishi Minoru...

You know, I must be stupid or something. I STILL can't find Taniguchi no matter how hard I look.

LOL, people are just saying, "Hey that's the Taniguchi guy!" They're not actually saying that character is Taniguchi in general. You must have misinterpreted them. Go read the credits, Shiraishi is credited as "Male Classmate" in this episode.

I believe it is the leftmost one of the trio in 6:45. The middle and right one don't match Shiraishi voice, while the one heard offscreen (6:42) when Tomoya is about to enter matches between LS shiraishi and Haruhi Taniguchi, imho.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. He didn't say anything, only grunted a bit with an 'あれ~' when Tomoya entered the classroom

I have a question. Which fansubber should i start downloading clannad from. I downloaded philanthropy's and sekai's first. Though the translation seemed good, i thought it moved too fast. I like to read at a medium pace, which was why i looked at THW and sprockets version. The philanthropy's and sekais seemed a little better, but at least the thw and sprocket version gave me enough time to read the translation. There is also the ss and eclipse one that came out. Normally, their translations are very good, but ss and eclipse's version was the last one to come out, and sometimes i dont like to wait. What do you guys recommend i should download?

Being such a fan of Air and Kanon I have been anticipating this much. A great first episode.

I'd take SS-E's mkv softsubs. If there are any mistranslations, they're correctable. And they can be taken out and muxed in with a widescreen raw if neccessary. Although I'm expecting someone to release widescreen h264 with softsubs so I don't need to do that.

Here's my post in the Episode 1 thread which goes through who will be subbing the widescreen version. It's all from reading the posts from the members of those said groups.

I feels that Nagisa looks like Kanon's Ayu, with the eyes of AIR's Misuzu? Anybody share my view?

Well alot of keys characters feel reused... I agree with you though, they seem like the same design only a different haircut...

That's because Key took only the same artist over and over again: Hinoue Hitaru (And that's quite easy to notice if you compare ONE with Kanon).

It isn't even because of Key especially, but rather they persist with Hinoue, though she is a founder of Key IIRC
Sole exceptions: Planetarian (artist: CO2A) and Little Busters! (association with hinoue and Na-Ga)

but as far as i can judge, Ayu and Nagisa has just some "feel" and remotely vague similarities with the form of the face, eyes and the color of the hair.
Aside of that, they are completely different look wise ^^"

Unless you are talking about the game art design, I'd tend to say that the character designs are similar because of the KyoAni character design lead, Ikeda Kazumi. She's worked on all three Key/KyoAni projects.

After seeing those shots, it makes the wait even more painful. Seriously the way Clannad should be presented.

Thanks a lot nani.

Imageshack versions, for any who want.
