Whoa... what's this about Clannad being only 22 episodes long? It also mentions that Episode 23 will be a compilation episode of sorts - probably recapping the series. The last sentence queries why the DVD collection will contain 24 episodes and wonders if the extra episode will be a DVD-only release.
Something tells me that is just a rumor made by a Haruhiist. See, at 24 episodes, Clannad will run to April 3rd. Haruhiists want Haruhi as soon as possible. They figure that April 3rd would means they'd have to wait until July to see Haruhi (Since Kyoani does one series at a time), or something along those lines, so they publish those kinds of things.

Just remember, MoonPhase were the ones who said that Haruhi would air in Fall '07 after Lucky Star and Clannad would be pushed off the the spring.

Check the Episode 19 thread, there's a screenshot in there.

And I'm a Haruhiist, and I really doubt we'll see Haruhi until fall.

And so, Chrissie's scream of anguish was heard around the world.

My thoughts now are:
Clannad 19-23 (February 29-March 28)
Clannad 24 (Omake DVD only)
Haruhi II (April 7-July 7)
Clannad II (July 4-September 26)
Little Busters (October-March)

See it from this point of view. With so little real episodes left, the possibilities for a second season increase quite a bit don't you think

Heh. Actually, I think it kind of just keeps it the same. It depends whether Kyoani wants to adapt After Story or not.

I just feel that losing two episodes like that are two episodes that could have been better spent... Like, maybe adapt Misae, or do a full Sunohara adaptation, or something along those lines...

But I'm just sort of unhappy because Clannad's been more than an anime to me... I've kind of been using it to help me get through my Freshman year at college. I was nervous for April when it ended, and this means that my anticipation weeks are cut by 2. So, I'm probably going to have a harder time then...

KyoAni won't do a Little Busters adaptation until Toei does a horrible one.

(I'd still like to see a Planetarian OVA... or an Anime Tenchou OVA.)

The news is indeed comes off as an unexpected one. Then again, considering Nagisa and Tomoya are the only remaining ones who need a resolution at this point, I suppose it is more than a rumor Clannad will end sooner.

I also hope KyoAni takes all the time they require to work on Haruhi, their best series thus far (arguably). And hopefully FMP will be their other up and coming project.

^^ i was hoping for a new FMP aswell.
but I doubt Clannad will be prematurely ending. I actually enjoy it more than Haruhi neways
(altho surprisingly i was never a big Kanon/06 fan)

Believe in the KyoAni that believes in...

uh...

well anyway. Here's hoping they'll pull through for us all in the end.

You know, I still find it funny that people quote that line of Kamina's more often than the other, reversed, and more important one.

"Believe in yourself!"

Yeah, I hope KyoAni has something smart up their sleeves too. It just goes to show what a fanboy I am that I'll keep watching their shows no matter how many times they "betray" me.

I feel like I'm in an abused relationship... orz.

Something makes me think that FMP won't be until summer 2009... Looking at Kyoani, they've tended to do something serious in the fall/winter, and something light in the spring/summer. I think Haruhi will air sometime in the next 6 months, and I don't think that Kyoani wants to skip a season...

Unless Kyoani secretly has FMP planned for the summer and Haruhi for the spring... <.< >.>.

Volume 4 of Haruhi is quite a bit darker than previous novels. Just thought I'd put that out there.

I know, I read it. But even a dark Haruhi is still lighter than like a Kanon or Air.

That's true.

Wouldn't Clannad After Story be in the fall then?

That's my biggest fear... If it's in the fall, I'm thinking...
Haruhi->July
FMP->September
Clannad->December
Either Planetarian OVA or One 3rd Remake->March

Enough speculating already. How's 'bout we wait for the last aired episode of Clannad to see if KyoAni makes any sort of announcement then?

Kyo-ani puts out in April too. I just don't know what the hell is going on anymore. Above all we do not need a freaking recap.

Haruhi might be 24 episodes. We don't know yet.

And I don't see another One remake considering that it's not REALLY a key game.

While Haruhi may be 24, I think that Kyoani may be shooting themselves in the foot with that. Haruhi, with the amount of novels out now, can easily make 3 14 episode series. Go for 24 and you overstretch it.

And I kind of am hoping for a One remake. In every aspect, to me, that is a Key game.

More like two 14-episode series and one 4-episode one. Vol.9 doesn't have THAT much content.

We've had this conversation before, but....

I don't see what you mean by "overstretch". Given that Vol 4 and Vol 7 are closely tied together, and both involve nonsensical time travel, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to put them together.

And Haruhi is KyoAni's most successful series, and probably one of the most popular things since Eva. I still can't see why we've had such a long break... It makes no sense to not make a bigger series, money-wise.
