I think it's almost certain that Shiba is the one who stole the Shinigami's core

This episode 10 only tells a bit of Shito's past. Shito's mother was pregnant for 7 years before he is born. From what Shito said, it seems that her mother was a zombie, making him a living corpse the day he is born. It looks like Shito also had a disturbing relationship with her mother.

We know more about the secret organization who is making illegal zombie this episode. Its name is ARRC (an acronym of something very long and complicated...) and the woman is called Caramela (not sure about the official spelling though), but what she says (about inevitability) still makes no sense

And I thought elephants had it bad. (If I remember right, elephant females have the longest length pregancies of currently existing mammals -- 22 months.) Shito's relationship with his mother would make Freud a happy psychologist. But given that Shito's childhood must have been incredibly screwed up, it's hard to fault him.

Was anything more said about Creepy Chinese guy's history? I get the impression that he's much older than he looks as well. And am I right in thinking that he was the one who killed Shito's mother?

Yeah. The core is Shinigami's power. Without it, it reverts into the chibi form and powerless. It says that a human he hunted down stole his power. Based on the opening video, it is safe to say that the human is Shiba.

Sadly, nothing about To Ho is revealed this episode. But he seems to know Shito ever since he's a kid (which means it's a long time ago). It's possible that he uses the Corpse Release Seal to achieve immortality.

Current number of epis is unknown but the director did say it would only be 12-13 epis total. But if it does end next week I wouldnt be surprised (hoping it doesnt though)

Interviewer: Next week, the last ep(for TV), ep 11 will be aired, what is the main feature?

Director: Ep 11 is the last ep of chapter which focuses on Shito. Shito will be rescued and he meets Chika finally again. Do not miss the combination of Chika/Shito.

In an earlier pre-series interview, the director had said the series would be 12 or 13 episodes long. This is why the possibility of DVD-only episodes is being discussed.
