Some (rather jumbled) thoughts on eps 12 & 13.

Spoiler:

I'll stop here because I've jabbered a bit. It was great being able to watch new Zombie-Loan again.

Well it was limited to the 11ep format and tried to make extra eps for the DVD, it would have been best if they did 11 then waited until the next season starts...

ZOMBIE-LOAN failed to sell on DVD in Japan ... prospects for a second season don't look good.

Well it's not exactly Code Geass or Lucky Star. It was a long time to wait for the OVA. No wonder interest was pretty slim (LE rank: #13,253; RE rank: #41,179 on amazon.jp). But despite that, the LE version is low on amount available on amazon.jp.

ZOMBIE-LOAN DVDs have sold so poorly in Japan that they're not even listed on the Animation (Anime) DVD Sales in Japan thread.

A positive outlook is always a good thing. If the manga, CDs etc sells, we may see some more. Anime is a marketing tool for the other stuff.

And if the franchise isn't doing too well, then I wouldn't expect DVD sales to be positive.

Hell will probably freeze over before another TV anime season is made.

Seriously, though, while it is highly unlikely another TV season of the ZOMBIE-LOAN anime will be made because of its poor DVD sales performance in Japan, stranger things have happened.

Ah, the guilt of dashing the hopes of those in this thread has haunted you to an extent that you left just a smidget of hope in your post.

Yep. I hear that Hatsukou Gentei had ended prematurely and is getting an anime so anything is possible. After ep. 13, I hope that we do get some resolution. That was about as open as it gets and hints at a sequel. Shito x Michiru kiss scene would be nice too.

Zombie Loan hasn't finished its manga story. Even if there were to be a second season (which I consider highly unlikely), the anime wouldn't be able to finish the series unless the second season doesn't come until after the manga finishes. (If you're curious about where the anime ended versus the manga, the anime ends partways through volume 6. Volume 10 recently came out in Japan. The manga still runs monthly in G-Fantasy.)

So basically we need to hang out until manga volume 12 or 13 comes out and hope that it becomes more popular.

Wheel of Fortune Organization

I can't believe it's been a year since my last post, and here I am stepping again into this thread.

I was really enthusiastic about having another shot to watch Zombie Loan.

The extra twelfth episode was mostly explanations and dialogues.

I do recall where the last episode to the TV series stopped, hence, I was relieved that the Zombie Loan characters on the twelfth episode recalled the events that transpired from episode 11.

Now on to the main point.

Honestly, I became a little confused.

A year ago, during the run of the TV series, I thought that the Wheel of Fortune (WFO) were the enemies behind-the-scenes.
Spoiler:

The twelfth episode reveals that WFO are actually the never-seen-higher-bosses to Zombie Loan.
Spoiler:

I didn't know what to make about Hakka, until the ending theme credits rolled and was struck with an epiphany to recall that he's also featured in the ending.
Spoiler:

For some number of reasons, Hakka introduced his Alive Loan agency not just for the sake of competition sportsmanship against his fellow Bekko, but IMO maybe for:
Spoiler:

Honestly, it feels good to watch again this series.

Unlike ZOMBIE-LOAN, Rozen Maiden sold on DVD in Japan, with the Rozen Maiden Ouverture DVD selling especially well there. Many Japanese fans expect more Rozen Maiden anime will be made. For them, it is a question of when, not if.

I Want to Protect

Well, guys the story leaves off with quite a cliffhanger into the future....

What's in store for Michiru, Shito, and Chika?

Will Z-Loan be able to pay off the Y10,000,000 debt, or they'll be kicked out of business?

The one thing for sure is that those three will struggle to break off their own chains of destiny, in order to reach that future.

Bekko's answer to Shimotsuki is to witness if those three can shake off their fates for once and for all in this trial.

We need more Zombie Loan.!!!

I agree. But looking at the ways it is going, I doubt it.

So, just as it's about to become interesting... it ends.

Ironic in a way.
