Thinking about it again, yes it's not yuri, sorry
Akari and Alicia have a strong bond like a family

Actually a fansub has been out for months. It is nice however to see that this particular fansub has finally come out. I will treasure watching the OVA again.

Hmm... as you may (or may not) be aware, Aria the OVA is a MFI productions series, and as such discussion of fansubs about these series is not permitted. Please consider reading the first post of this thread

That, and those are old news

edit: seeing NSW posting about that confuses me a little. Are we permitted to use the word fansub or discuss anything remotely related to fansubs and ARIA in this thread? Can we use code talk?

Just look at the first post in the thread for clarification on MFI media. They just don't list the fansubs on this site.

Since it is "restricted", the following posts are no longer allowed.
  • Asking where you can find the Aria OVA downloads or torrents.
  • Asking for help downloading the Aria OVA.
  • Asking for playback help for the Aria OVA episodes.
So yeah, feel free to mention that fansubs exist. Heck, that much is allowed when talking about licensed anime as well. We can't be quite be coy enough to force you to use code words. Just don't think about linking it.

That's why I didn't post a link for the OVA. I figured it's okay to mention that it is available. I didn't know there was a previous one either. I didn't find it in the the usual places I frequent.

Anyways.. after watching, I can say: This is a very different style from the previous two series. Higher theatre quality to the work too.

Indeed.

I've been wondering about something, does Alicia have a place outside of Aria company? I've been having trouble keeping tabs on her "after hours", coupled with what I assume about the company building's floor plan.

I read somewhere that an interview regarding the OVA stated that the selling point of it would be more of a visual feat. Still has a "lol, bloom" quality of the original, but I can't but think there's something "sexier" about this one.

Nah, I was thinking more on the lines of this remark

You still are allowed to discuss the anime, that has not changed but please remember to limit the discussion to the story. End of edit by Mod (xris)
And thinking that the rest was more of the "included but not limited to" type of prohibition. But since you already clarified that point, I'll just beam out.

/me beams out

I'm pretty sure she lives at the Aria company building --- when we see far away shots, a few more windows are shown on the top level, so i'm guessing she lives upstairs.

Back when i first heard the news about the Aria OVA, i knew for a fact this was going to be one beautiful work, and it 100% delivered. Everything was beautiful about this OVA, right down to some wonderful close up/blush shots.

I know the third season won't be able to capture this level of quality, though it was nice to have the chance to see Aria in this form --- it makes you wish for a full length 90 minute movie.. now that would be a dream come true.

I'll try to look it up later when I'm not busy (ask Konata why I'm posting even though I'm busy), but in the manga, at least (has this been animated?), Alicia lives outside of Aria Company.
Spoiler for Slight manga(?) spoiler:

You know, i should stop rewatching episodes only after episode 18 (i'm sure you know why), and some before --- i forgot about that happening.

Heaven forbid the third season doesn't suffer from the same quality as the TV airing of The Natural! But yes, it was nice to have a full production OVA - even if it was only one 30 min episode.

@dahl_moon and relentlessflame
Aha, so I wasn't going crazy. I think that was the episode/chapter that first got me thinking.

Even in the first series they mention that Alicia isn't staying at the Aria company. When we're first introduced to Aika and Akira they get into an argument over Akira's harsh training methods. Aika ends up sleeping over at Aria company for the night, and she's disappointed that Alicia doesn't stay there.

All that aside, this OVA was fantastic as expected. I was all warm and fuzzy inside and misty eyed throughout the whole thing. I can't wait till the new season comes out.

Until we find out where she lives, for the time being i'm going to say she lives in her Gondola.
