In case anyone is interested, Iker and Bau, the two admins who tried to clean up Shaloom's mess on Macross Generation and got "removed" from their positions when Shaloom came back, have started their own Spanish-language Macross site, and it looks pretty good!

http://www.macrosschronicle.com/

Please check it out, even if you don't speak Spanish.

Well, that was pretty predictable. Itll shake up the spanish speaking community, thats for sure. But good move by the two of them, IMO.

Good move on their behalf. Shaloom has already disgraced himself more than one time and I always felt that getting rid of those 2 was a pathetic move on his part. Glad to see that they're going to bring back some Macross truth to the Spanish community.

According to one of the former MG members I talked to, before Shaloom came back, MG had about 30~35 regular posters. Now it has about 10. So at the very least, it gives some homeless Macross fans a place to go. At best, it could completely usurp MG's position.

First off, where have you been?

Secondly, pretty damned blatant. Let's see if there is singing.

Thirdly, who is gonny watch it? I sure am, if it comes out subbed.

Maybe only the drawings are similar? We won't know until it airs or until we at least see a clip from it...

anyway, the characters don't seem appealing enough to audiences...at least, they don't appeal to me...(or maybe it's just me being biased..)

After actually watching the trailer ( I was working the whole night on a presentation for college ), I must say it looks much more like Saint Seiya In Space than Macross. Although the fighter/mech designs are undeniably cribbed from Macross.

So first it was 5CM, and now this shoddy replica (and yes, it is that bad of a rip-off) of my favorite anime series of all time?

Heh, fuck China.

I think that is a fake everyland. Cmon, Doraemon?

I think China should realize that it is no longer the hidden kingdom anymore. As a nation that just recently overtaken Germany as the world's largest exporter and slated to become the world's largest economy, it needs to take its own image more seriously.

I'm not surprised they also plagiarize CLAMP works too

Here is more complete comparison.

The problem I tend to have is with the general Chinese attitude of belittling the intelligence of others, including those of their own population. Its as if they think people would not know, or that the work they plagiarized from aren't already famous in their countries of origin and/or amongst the world.

Now, now, I wouldn't call them as such.... since after all, we do get some of the benefits, in terms of pirated DVDs and merchandise... okay forget I ever said that

In our country, we're kinda used to it, so this is just another -- "What? Macross-like series? Oh it's just another day...." We've seen plaigarised stuff from every darn famous anime of the last century, all printed on cheap paper with bad quality printing -- Sailormoon, Dragon Ball, Gundam....

Okay, I was going to say "Oh, they got some originals designs, but the further I got into that promo the more I went "WTF?!? This is *directly* lifted from Frontier!" The capital ships using their flak? It look *exactly* like the scene from episode one.

If the music from the video in the second link is from the anime, then they also ripped the music directly from Ace Combat 5 as well.

Also, it seems the emblem of their nation is a blatant rip-off of the UN Spacy emblem.
