About the Urahara speculation. I have never before even thought of suspecting Urahara to be an antagonist, his actions doesn't really portray him in an antagonistic light. However, I have recently heard the word "urahara" in a couple of the new karas.

First was from the new Bleach OP:
"...un ga arya to wa urahara ni."
"I want to take back our time, but luck and karma are against me."

The line from the Bleach OP didn't really arouse any suspicions, but then I saw the word "urahara" again in the Murder Princess OP:
"kotoba to wa urahara ni izundeita."
"My words have been twisted to have the opposite meaning."

On that line, the word "opposite" jumped out at me; a few seconds with a dictionary and low and behold:
Word: urahara
Hira/Kata: urahara
Definition: (adj-na,n) opposite, reverse, contrary, (P)

Now to tell you the truth, I actually only came to this epiphany after I read this thread, so it could just be a coincidence. As I said, nothing in Urahara's actions have had me thinking that he is a bad guy.

I don't think Urahara really caused Ichigo's hollow to come forth, I always thought that the burst of energy that came when he first fought Renji was from his inner hollow.

He does seem to know much more then he is letting on though, he never seems surprised by events.

Could be something simple like, implying that he is a contradiction, he is portrayed (initially) as a simple store owner, which he obviously isn't, and the more you see him the more you realise that he knows a lot more then he is letting on. So there is nothing simple about him at all. Thus he is a contradiction. But I think that is more the Author implying things rather then Urahara having a say in the matter.

And I honestly can't imagine Yoruichi being also bad, both were best friends since childhood. Also the fact that he is a good friend of Kurosaki-senior makes this very questionable.
I also remember the dialogue between Urahara und Yoruichi after SS Arc on the flying carpet, they were both alone and it really didn't seem to me that Urahara is plotting how to bring chaos to the world. I think, he said something along the line as "At the beginning we were far on the losing side but now we must help Ichigo and friends getting stronger".

That would be one f'ng twist if he was evil but yeah I think sexy Kuro-Neko keeps Geta-boshi (not the Geta-boshi here haha ) in check too- considering he's pals with Isshin and lots of the old school, expat, exiled shinigami (vaizados as well perhaps?), I think he's just just making up for all the things he did (imagine if Urahara wasn't there, Bleach would be a happy fairy tale and horribly lame, considering the mess he "created" with the Orb and gigais and what have you...)

Yea, in the Bleach Vibe book it said Ichigo heard Rukia's cry and a sudden flow of energy bust into him. I think that's when his Hollow started coming out

Except I don't think his names has a deep meaning in it. Both 'Urahara' and 'Kisuke' is a well known name in Japan (using the same Kanji)

I thought that the hollow side of ichigo was formed in the training with uruhara..... when he was trying to resist against tansforming into a hollow........ and rukia never really did cry....... i don't think that uruhara is the cause of ichigo's hollow but i think that it occured naturally in him, although i don't really careabout it coz hollow ichigo fighting style is so damn cool and entertaining

Anyone notice that the place the Vizards train with ichigo is the exact same as the place Urahara trains ichigo the first time.

which leads me to believe that urahara is connected to the vaizard somehow...he somone pointed out that ichigoe's sword, vaizard sword and Urahara sword are colored the same way. which might indead mean that urahara also has hollow powers..., recent episode with hichigo sword also strengthens my belief that the way the sword are colored means somthing. in episode 124 it shows a preview of brainless ichigo about to shoot a blast just like urahara

Urahara has probably been creating a counter-Arrancar group to prepare for the Winter Wars. It wouldn't be strange to find out that the Vizards were created by Urahara like Ichigo was. He probably helped Ichigo and the gang enter Hueco Mundo for the sole purpose of releasing some of Ichigo's hidden powers as well as set Aizens plans into a bit of turmoil.

Note that Ichigo's bankai hasn't even been used to even a quarter of its potential. Ever since the Byakuya battle, Ichigo has only been using the Hollow's ability. When he awakens Zangetsu's true powers we'll really see things heat up.

IMO, it would be great if Urahara were a bad guy, or at least had his own motives in all this, because thats the only way I see him actually doing anything other than open gates and serve as a mentor for the good guys.

Wrong. That was a seperate place. Maybe Urahara built it, but it wasn't the same one.

The bit where Urahara walks past and says, "Oh, do you need a gigai?" just set made me think. You know that the gigai would make Rukia harder to find, and all that? Well, she was made powerless by Ichigo, right? So maybe that could've been the only possible/plausible way that Rukia could lose here powers, and keep her under the radar? Which leads me to think about the possibility of Urahara having something to do with Ichigo from the beginning. It's just a theory, so don't think I am stating this as fact. Maybe this was just a coincidence, maybe fate, or maybe it was partly Urahara's doing, the fact that Rukia was in the same place as Ichigo was. Thinking about it, maybe it was Urahara that led the hollow that attempted to kill them to their place, having known full well what would happen. Ichigo was forced to take Rukia's powers, blah-blah-blah.

If I've got something dearly wrong, please tell me, I haven't watched/read the early eps in a while.
