BTW, if you are going to play, be a healer, because I find those people that say the healers are over power are very retarded. Can't beat them? join them and stop bitching.

I am going to "necromanize" this page for elaboration on the gameplay of Lunia

Lunia is an anime-styled free MMO, though if you want to buy high quality items or other items not found in game, you must pay. It is an arcade fighting game with RPG elements and it has a 2D overview with 3D models

There are 3 classes: Sieg(melee specialist), Eir(healer), and Dainn(wide assortment of offensive ranged spells). You fight mobs by going into linear instances called stages. The stages are put into divisions called episode (x), "x" being a variable. You are able to redo any stage. Once entered, you are shown a cutscene with animated drawed class characters acting in anime ways. I find the story confusing and long texts disappearing too fast. The storyline is confusing because of the long time frame, which is used for fighting through a stage, between cutscenes and you lose memory of what had happened to the previous cutscenes. From what I understand the storyline is a fanstasy adventure about 3 adventurers Sieg, Eir, and Dainn saving the world. They are met with perils, friends, and treasure as they adventure. Once you are in a stage and if you did not break the "starter rocks"(a breakable wall of rocks), you can wait for others to join your game. You will only have 2 lives per stage

You can make private stage rooms just for you and your friends.

There are puzzle stages but they are frustrating though passable.

There are PVP hosted stages that are not in the linear stages.

The keyboard options are not customable but I find it comfortable to use them. You have button "A" for
succesive basic attack, "S" for special moves, "spacebar" for an attack againt knocked foes because you cannot use "A" on knocked foes nor "spacebar" on standing foes but "spacebar" deal much more damage, and the arrows keys for movement. If you keep clicking an arrow, including diagonals, you can dash. You will also gain skill points as you level up which you can expend to learn new abilities or skills. You can drag them to your hotkeys. These are to name all combat controls

There are no merchants in a stage. You must go back to the server-town which are called square(x). There are some text problems such as texts showing up as blocks(for some but not to me) and words getting
cut off in the middle like "I pl ay Lun ia" when they are past its containing block. There, you can break magical items to get Fortification Stones, reagents for item improvement or other reagents from the breaking of magical items. I have seen a crafting merchant, though I not know how it works yet.
You can buy high quality items and other items not found in game by spending LuniPoint via the Item Mall, but it will charge you real money to get LuniPoint.

There are quests you can receive from NPCs and by far the only reward I have seen is XP points but alot of them. Some quests are repeatable.

The highest level character I have seen is around lvl 70+.

This is still in beta

The character voices are in Korean and no English but you can change the voices to Japanese. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=C0WV3EIH. To change it go to Lunia/Sounds/Player and overwrite those files. If you want to keep the Korean voices save them in another folder. The game reads any character folders in /Sounds/Player

Overall, I am enjoying the game's graphics, its fighting, RPG elements, and anime designs

Hmmm I remember seeing this game before a long time ago in some banner ad... It looked interesting, and is pretty unique in playstyle... But it never hooked me simply because I can't make my own character. I have to use premade ones... So I'll be stuck playing the healer since she's the only female in the game...

Which I don't like since I like to melee <<b

This game got old fast on me, I didn't like how there were only three types of people over and over.

Currently only the Korean version has 3 more classes. Dacy(summoner), Tia(micromanagement extensive thief based class), and Lime(shapeshifter). You can find their voices in your Lunia directory

Unless it can somehow prevent you from running into a multitude of people who'll look exactly like you, I doubt it'd keep my interest.

I just dislike games that pigeonhole certain characters into certain playstyles. And traditionally in those, female characters are restricted to being support (healers, mages) or rogue classes (thief).

Even though that, I am still enjoying the game by the fighting to past my time and since it is free. So far I have been to episode 3, stage 6 (3-6) which is almost half of the episodes. I not mind characters looking exactly as my character but it can be confusing at times. This is still in beta so I'll wait a bit

Ye, there is not much freedom of choice if you like playing only female since there are only 2 females out of 4 (maybe 3? not sure about Lime the slime) males. They dress in skimpy outfits that caters to men's interest, too. Eir the healer has a slight "arrogant dumb girl" personality. She even asked "What's an avalanche?". I find that to be a question which mostly everyone in the real world knows but since I'm guessing education is poor there, asking that question is ok

Well, of course every MMO (Asian ones and well even US and others) has to fulfill the requirement of needing at LEAST 1 skimpy dressed female.

Really, the game has a nice concept, it just isn't very unique in it's characters. Character-based MMOs are pretty rare and never tend to become very large. Character customization is where it's at <<b

Highly recommend this game to all anime fans!!!
The graphics are anime style and 2d side scrolling and the gameplay isnt that violent and instead of just basing the game on levels like most mmorpgs, its based on skill as well.

I started playing Lunia around 2-3 weeks ago. Right now 27 Dainn( Everett, contact me during game if you want ), on 2-2L; i made a guild 4 days ago called Everlasting, currently has 74 members. if you with to join, contact me during game ^_^.

It has only 3 episodes and each episode contains 10 stages. After you complete 3-10, you are allowed to be in the next mode called Ultimate which is much harder but it will take you to the same stages as the normal mode so Ultimate 1-1 = Normal 1-1.

I find myself to be needing to farm for XP for items in the normal stages to improve my character quickly. I can possibly do Ultimate but the time to kill monsters in it is long. I still enjoy the arcade action

The names for monsters are wrong. I find a harpy queen to be named king when it is obvious she is female, a female dark elf to be called he instead of she, and an obviously orange dragon to be named blue dragon. There are some grammar mistakes and some dialogues are somewhat weird in how they say it but I understand most of the NPC dialogues.

I still not understand individual cutscenes but I understand the storyline in general which is about rescuing the world from an intelligent mastermind orc. One cutscene still shows Asian text blocks

I don't know, in some ways this reminds me of Yogurting - another Korean-made MMORPG that was ported to Japan. The focus was on school and story-based missions that were accessed through portals. Outside of those missions, you couldn't fight.

This game itself doesn't so much remind me of the specifics behind Yogurting as it does the style of MMORPG, I suppose. Yogurting was also free, but had a number of paid features - outfits, accessories, "locker space" and so on. The Japanese provider that hosted Yogurting also hosted a number of other MMORPGs that operated in the same way - free to register and play, but offering things in-game that could be acquired by paying real money. The impression I got was that people would flit from game to game when they'd gotten bored of one of the MMORPGs. I could be wrong, but it isn't the same as the culture of MMORPGs that we're more used to in North America (Everquest, and now World of Warcraft), where people get pretty heavily into the game and stick with it for a long period of time.

Just my perception of it, anyway. If true, it'd probably make the MMORPGs have less of a community feel. If MMORPGs are your thing, go for it anyway. I just have an issue with it because I don't like the idea of spending a ton of time building up a character that will just be ditched in three or four months.

That will be dull, repetitive stage farming. Which monsters from which stages still give XP from Legend? With tedious stage farming, I still see benefit in improving my finger strength and agility
