Fuss? Naw, it's something to discuss while waiting for the next chapter.

While red slitted eyes are cool/awesome and all that, it's not necessarily a good thing when those who have them are trying to blend in with human society. So other series have the red eyes thing going for them too, big deal, even Bakemonogatari has that for Koyomi when he goes vamp too. The theme of "blood suckers = blood red eyes" is common. When Moka is in her true form she could get away with just being considered albino at first with the silver/white hair and red eyes, but that doesn't account for the shape of her pupils to be considered normal. It's even stranger when a brown-haired person has red eyes. People really then get to thinking something is up with that person. So in essence Kokoa has it down pat for being able to hide her true nature much of the time without the use of a seal. Akasha may have mastered this too, but unlike Kokoa who is still rather weak in terms of overall power, Akasha has age and practice to hide her true nature also without a seal.

On the matter of a vampires circumcision eyes, I have to agree with GrrDraxin that sooner or later Inner Moka (after the Rosario is permanently released ) and Tsukune (once his "vampire form" becomes permanent, which in my opinion, is going to happen in the future arcs) are going to need to learn how to hide their vampire eyes.

Still, this discussion made me wonder, what has actually caused Moka's vampire eyes to become permanent and so far, I have thought that it was caused either by the first awakening of Moka's Shinso blood or Moka's sealing ceremony where her "true personality" was sealed by the Rosario along with her Shinso blood, since before that event, Moka had normal "human like" eyes, just like any other vampire, who isn't consciously drawing out their latent powers.

I think it's a little bit of both - when Ura is released, her vampire blood is active at a high level so her vampire eyes seem to be 'on' all the time. Either that or it's just Ikeda choosing not to draw the slitted eyes all the time.

Ikeda's artwork has had great change since season 1 of R+V, i doubt he would ignore something like the eye detail for the vampires, considering that Ura-Moka's red slitted eyes are permanent each time shes out and that he hasn't even bothered to changed that small detail ever since Ura-Moka's very first apperance in the series. A great example on how the vampire eyes work is Tsukune, whenever hes using his Shinso powers, his eyes become red and slitted vampire eyes, this also happens when hes serious.

Kokoa has also displayed this as well in the chapter that she eats Yukari's special candy to become an adult, she is showing off while using Kou as a weapon to which her slitted eyes manifest themselves. Akua has also displayed this in the chapter where Alucard awakens in the flashback of Moka's memories, when Akua used her Jigen-Tou against Alucard and he regenerated the tentacles she cut this surprised her and you can clearly see her slitted eyes. So in the world of R+V, the only way these red slitted eyes would actually show themselves is whenever a vampire gets truly serious especially in the heat of battle since battle is their nature, i have no doubts about this considering we have seen this almost all the time in R+V.

Only a few days until the raws for 45, man this month went by so quickly.

If I remember right Ikeda worked with/under the author of Claymore at one point; in the Claymore setting the slit-eyes appear when using or at least generating/maintaining/manifesting a high level of youkai, even if passively at that point in time. Given the ties between the series it could be the same reasoning here, it'd explain quite handily why Inner Moka and Vampiric Tsukune show them, but Outer Moka and the others don't, their youkai throughput is running at lower levels unless they 'get serious'. Even with the limiter of the Rosario, inner runs a far higher level of Youkai on average, even when being passive, when compared to Outer so this explanation would fit fairly well.

Iam just glad that R+V is more light hearted and a few fanservice here and there than the more serious Claymore.

And the fights aren't dragged on for 10+ chapters...

(truth be told, I once blitzed through Claymore, and then dropped it after I caught up...)

The only fights i see that will be dragged out with is Gyokuro, Akua, possibly Kahlua, Miyabi and finally Alucard, the battles with the division leaders would kinda suck if they were dragged out...

There's no need for us to see them battle every single leader. I really hope Ikeda doesn't force us through that. This isn't Bleach.

Yeah, I can't disagree with that. I really enjoyed the anime they made out of Claymore, reasonably dark/gritty for a medieval romp, and have since read the manga to 'see how it ends', but it does get dragged out far too much at points, and I don't really follow it actively, more a case of I just catch up each month to see if it's moved forward.

I just brought the series up though as I figured it might be logical they'd share reasoning on the 'eye emergence' given Ikeda worked with Claymore's author previously

...to get that one, one would need to spend nearly $300 to get it because it's in the BluRay Capu2 Box set (shipping included in the price I think). So yeah, that's why I haven't gotten it yet....

I know someone else has it and they're just SITTING on a high-res scan of it...they will BURN if they don't share it
