The nervous system transmits nerve impulses from the brain towards muscles/organs/other body parts (efferent pathways) and towards the brain from body parts (afferent pathways) through a combination of electrical impulses conducted along neurons and chemical signals between each neuron. Electrical signals are transmitted to or from the brain when the corresponding stimulus generates an action potential along the surface of the neurons, causing electrical energy to move along the body of the neuron towards the axon. When it reaches the end of the neuron, the electrical impulse causes the release of neurotransmitters that bridge the gap between individual neurons. These neurotransmitters stimulate the next neuron to generate another action potential and propagate the next electrical signal along the path until it reaches it's destination and causes the desired effect.
The remaining mystery is how a wad of neurons maps memories and stores them as well as how the interpretation of sensor data and memory data works. We have a very detailed understanding of *where* things happen... just not what the programming language is or how to program it. The brain is a very messy plumber's nightmare of computation that somehow gives rise to an emergent complexity we call "mind".

If I were to sleep while sitting, what would be the danger of a Deep Vein Thrombosis?

DVT is more an effect of prolonged immobility causing blood stasis on the great veins of your legs that cause blood to coagulate than a specific sleeping positions. Which is why DVT is infamous on prolonged flights due to prolonged immobility as opposed to sitting on a chair in your house or on your bed, because you have enough space to shift your legs around.

Well, normally when I want to get Japan-only stuff, I go to Abidko. Just be aware that there's a middleman fee for it.

Cheers.

I have been using proxy shopping and middlemanning agencies for years, but which one is the cheapest? I used JAA most of the time, but the costs are damn high.

Is it true that Church's Chicken is an Islamic company? How ironic since it had "church" in its name. If its true then they should rename their company as "Mosque's Chicken" or something like that.

Angry Birds Rio is licensed from the CGI family film Rio. The stages and graphics are different to reflect the licensed property.

Also shouldn't this be a question to ask at Rovio's forums? Or at least an Android forum... lol

So, the wine they use for Holy Communion at Catholic churches...it tastes good. Does anybody know of a wine I can buy that tastes just like it/very much like it?

Is there a way to efficiently search for quality artwork on pixiv?

The way I'm doing it now is by finding one good piece or artist and then browse through his artwork in hope of finding the fan art of the stuff that I'm looking for, bookmarking it and then looking at the suggested artwork that is displayed afterwards. This is a pretty good method but only when I feel like looking at random good art rather than looking for something specific. I've also noticed that sometimes a tag with something like 'with1000users' and the name of the anime/character/etc. comes up on an artwork with a lot of bookmarks; replacing the prefix with the search word of my choice sometimes works but not always. Oh and btw, regular search just gives you too many results and I don't feel like sifting through kids' drawings in hope of stumbling across something good. There doesn't seem to be a way to sort by bookmarks in descending order, at least not that I know of.

Its been so long I can't remember... but I imagine Mogen-David's classic concord wine, kosher for Passover is probably what they use.
