Making a mobile mecha game
I'm working on an action mecha game called Iron Legions at the moment for Android with some friends in college.
Rather than a more slow mech warrior type combat, we're going for a much faster real time combat more similar to gundam or armor core.
Because we're avoiding joystick controls (joysticks for mobile phones just feels wrong and icky >.<) your mech automatically engages into range of your target, but you can swipe to the sides to dodge.
Here is an example of using the controls
We're still currently making more enemy bosses and working on making mini in game cinematics between battles. Lots of tweaking and there still quite a bit to go.
Story wise, we're trying to go for a more anime character style (for mission briefings like a visual novel setup).
Still debating if I want to make it more character focused due to the art here. If not, I was thinking of going for a more general battle missions rather than story...
I'm not used to drawing human characters and I'm the only artist for the project (if anyone has suggestions to improve please let me know). T_T
