Suggestions for non-fantasy romance?

This is interesting. Except for three anime, Bokura ga Ita, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, and Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, I haven't found other anime that doesn't have fantasy/magic but still has romance. If any anime meets (or near meets) my likes and dislikes listed below, then please point me to them.

1) Drama is fine, but not heart-wrenching cliffhanging monoatmospheric anime. I didn't completely like Suzuka because it was too monotonous for 26 episodes (in my opinion, of course) and more hate than I wanted. Cardcaptor Sakura has pretty mild romance but a large of that show is magical. A little fantasy is probably fine, such as Mahoromatic, but I don't want to watch another Inuyasha for example.

2) I'm aiming for new, short anime (preferably under 50 episodes) so please don't refer me to things like Touch and such.

3) In summary, I'm looking for anime that has romance as the dominent genre and they should be as realistic as possible. If School Rumble season two matches my interests, then please convince to continue watching it. Otherwise, my signature has a list of what I'm currently watching. Maybe I'm weird and like stuff people don't care about but I've searched a lot with no avail.

Thanks for any help!

REC is probably right up your alley.

you might wanna try peach girl and paradise kiss too. these are both some shoujo business a lot like bokura ga ita.

if you are into that hgame sort of stuff, there's canvas 2, toheart, and lamune that you could check out.

school rumble probably doesn't meet your criteria. it's not fantasy but it's clearly not realistic either.... however i'd still watch it because it's hilarious.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into REC.

And also, what is Honey & Clover? I've seen lots of comparison between it and Bokura ga Ita, but I don't want to wiki it because it might provide spoilers. Can anyone give me a somewhat spoiler-free synopsis of Honey & Clover?

And addition :
Kare Kano (Kareshi Kanojou no Jijou) - Shoujo romance...

Honey & Clover is good, and nothing like Bokura ga Ita
The romance aspect is actually kind of secondary.

Kare Kano is a great humorous romance anime, though it does get a little dramatic.

Rec is a nice watch also.

Non-fantasy romance:
Lamune
Nana
Emma
Aishiteruze Baby
Koi Kaze

Also, the currently ongoing Lovely Complex is very good. A non-fantasy romance about a tall girl and short boy.

I will definitely second Canvas 2 (imo one of the best among the genre), Lamune and REC.

with a tiiiny bit of fantasy:
Gift ~Eternal Rainbw~
Da Capo (both seasons).

I just noticed that retardation already mention Canvas 2 and Paradise Kiss... so I thought I should suggest something else..
I"S Pure is kinda nice. If you don't mind yuri, then Strawberry Panic is a good choice.

honey and clover is not really that romance intensive. it's just about some university students in an art school, just living their daily lives. it is a realistic series though. i am about the only person i've met who doesn't like it so you might want to give it a try.

I suggest Lovely Complex It's comedy romance but some bits are a tearjerker!
