That was awesome. And there's some truth to it, EL has some really touching romantic moments.

However, I wonder if someone who's asking for the best Romance Animes is looking for something like Elfen Lied ^_^

It was licensed awhile ago. It's a pretty good anime though.

That I can't agree with by any stretch of the imagination. To put it bluntly, I thought it was f-ing terrible.

Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
Da Capo
Suzuka
Lamune
Ah! My Goddess
Ai Yori Aoshi
Air
Chrno Crusade
Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu

all of these have strong romance in them though maybe not all as the main topic.
If I were to pick 2 of these I would watch Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien and Chrno Crusade
to find stronger love then in these to is really hard.
I watched both of them this week and I'm all out of tears....

It has its own subforum:

KonoMini is short for Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai, the series' Japanese title.

I disagree completely. I really hated this anime once it got to episode 10+, it became really stretched and boring.

Here's my list.
  1. Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora - Really well made, even if it's short.
  2. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
  3. Kanon(2006)
  4. Midori no Hibi

For some reason, not so many people liked Ai Yori Aoshi, although it had some heavy romance in it. But, each has his/her taste.
Although some of the stuff is mentioned but I'm surprised that only 2 people recommended Lamune, it was one of the best romance anime around. not to make it long, here's my favorites in no particular order

Chobits, Onegai Teacher/Twins, REC, Boys Be, Ai Yori Aoshi, ToHeart, ToHeart ~remember my memories~, Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, Canvas2, Lamune, Kanon(06/03), Strawberry Panic, Futari Ecchi, Final Approach, Love Hina, Midori no Hibi, and finally, my all time favorite Air.

i agree with a few posters already, sola was amazing, i wish there was more of it, it might be my favourite series of all time, let alone my favourite romance.

i do have a soft spot for Da Capo, but im a sucker of pretty animes, and i like the art is Da Capo so im skewed a bit there.

I think most of the ones I'd recommend are already listed, like Air, Kanon, DC, etc. The one I'm all over is Full Moon o Sagashite. It really tears at your emotions, just like a good romance anime should.
