I just realized Lawrence & Horo's Seiyuus = Lelouch & Kallen

Mind = blown. Fukuyama is really good at changing his voice from a serious younger Lelouch/Zero to a grown Lawrence. Kind of a big change there. Koshimuzu sounds like Horo in her everyday voice (don't have Code Geass atm to compare), while Fukuyama sounds off from either role as Lawrence and Lulu, with the former being the closest.

Right, I am glad I made the decision and went on with Spice and Wolf.

Love this series.

I couldn't believe myself that I actually like this series.. I expect it to be very, very boring but, I was proved otherwise. Horo is my new favourite character(female) and Lawrence for (male).

LOL, this scene will surely inspire more H-Doujinshis...I suggest the titel "The Spice must flow".

Yep from episode 8. But no, probably not what your thinking. Well unless your thinking of nothing going on, then you'd be right.

Part I - In Which The Author Confesses he is a Spice and Wolf Addict:
Man am I glad I didn't drop this series.
I watched episode 1, watched episode 2, thought "...eh.." and was basically gonna stop after that due to non-plot-pick-uppage.

Then I was bored in lecture one day, and I thought, hey, let's watch SaW 3, just for fun.
And then I was hooked.

Part II - In Which The Author Discusses Matters Concerning Horo:
You see, the only reason I don't have Horo as an avvy and sig image here is because half the people do. Which says nothing for my desire to do so *cough*
I've never obsessed over an anime character before, but there's something about Horo.
I think it's the ears and tail.
She's a perfectly awesome (sorry, it's late, the synonym machine is broken) character based solely on personality of course, but it's the ear and tail gestures that tipped the proverbial scales for me (hohoho merchant reference).

Part III - In Which The Author Ruminates Upon The Series in General Spouts Some Garbage:
First of all, it's a series about merchants. Economics factors heavily, unusual for anime in general (or so I understand).
It's been said, it's a slice of life anime. It's been said, it's a romance anime.
Odd, since I never particularly liked slice of life anime. Or romance anime.

But, once again, there's something about Horo.
Not that she's the only reason I'm watching, because what fun would it be watching Horo without Lawrence? >.>;

Part IV - In Which The Author Considers the End of the Season:
I will say it now: this anime needs another season.
Maybe I'm just biased though.

That, or I need to learn Japanese to read the novels.
OR the novels need to become translated.

Because I need my fix, man, I'm getting the shakes. (only half joking)

Also, I project the ending is gonna be similar to that of Fate Stay Night.
I'm not gonna describe it, because I'm tired, but I think those who've watched it may (or may not) agree.

As much as I might not like to think about this awesome series ending.

Part V - In Which The Author Thanks You For Reading His Braindump on SaW:
Thanks ;D

This series intrigues me not only because of the usual charm that is Horo (all hail the Wolf Empress! ) but I also notice the themes of paganism & Christianity in the Middle Age and economy (in before PROFIT!!), which is new to me (at least, as far as I know in any anime). And I just acquired the manga and noticed some of the differences between the two medias (namely, Horo's character design.
Spoiler for just in case:

Well, I don't have anything else to rabble but to continue following Wolf & Spice (or is it Spice & Wolf? ).

Ookami to Koushinryou *literally* translates as
Ookami -- Wolf
to -- and
Koushinryou -- Spice. ............... "Wolf and Spice"

However, translators often work backwards in a sentence when moving J->E or E->J so "Spice and Wolf" is functionally equivalent (though misleading, at least to me).

So "Spice and Wolf" is how the series' production team have portrayed it so they can pull in da phunny of using "spicy wolf" as semi-pun.

The art style in the manga thins out most of the characters. Lawrence is also thinner. I don't think its anything other than a drawing style difference though it has the net result of Horo (and the other girls) looking thinner and I suppose younger.

As far as "wolf" versus "fox" --- I think its the coloration that has people scratching their head. Grey Wolves are ... grey (and black, white, with bits of red rust). I'd have painted her that way... but it looks like the people choosing the color let the "standards of anime" win out over common sense. Grey-headed girls are *supposed* to be quiet gothy types. Red-headed girls are *supposed* to be sharp, playful, and frisky. The artists got stuck on those memes.

Horo's more brown than red/orange to me. Her eyes are red, for comparison. Just look at your sig.

There's plenty of brown wolves, right?

Meh, I'm trying to find a rational framework for something that has no explanation (her color scheme). You're right though... its more of a rusty brown than anything else.
Her eyes are red (more towards the purple than brown in the red palette).

That's been a very popular tactic with anime producers for the last couple of years. Quite a few of the series have done "dvd only" episodes to try and amp up DVD sales (which have been plateauing) in Japan.

Why? Would it have been better if they had called it "Episode 6.5"? That's really all this is. Episodes 1-6 are the first novel, and episode 8 through 13 are the second novel. Episode 7 is an extra episode that goes in between. It won't hurt your enjoyment of the show's TV airing to miss it (since you'll still see all of the main story), but it'll enhancement your enjoyment of the DVDs. So I don't see what's so wrong or stupid about it. Instead of tacking an extra episode to the end, they stuck one in the middle.

I dislike it simply because its screws with it, ep7 could lead up to ep 8 with some non manga filler that could well be good, we wont know untill its released on the net... :P
