Playing old games on new PC's

Ok I pcked up Deus Ex in the bargain bin at EB. I installed it on my pc and wtf it's so jerky and difficult to control, movements are all over the place. Nothing at all like what I remember.

I'm petty sure this is a software issue not hardware as my gear (x1950pro, x2 4000, 2 gig ram) smokes the recommended requirements and is running perfectly (Oblivion and FEAR are running perfectly). Is there anything I could do ? I really feel like playing this again.

Hee hee I actually have better time playing my old games on wine then on my xp gaming rig. Some of them don't even install for some reason, but since I have an easy option (of wine), I didn't look into it.

My favourite old game is Fallout 2, got to love the girl on girl wedding and then pimping out your wife

Is everything actually running 100% fine? That seems awfully easy to fix, compared to trying to get System Shock 2 working like it should.

yep, it looks awful compared to the new stuff but it's tough. Audio works, vid settings are maxed out pretty good so far.
