Yep, Proudmoore US. First thing I did after that was search the AH like you but I figured at this point in the game there wouldn't be much up there of that level, and sadly I was right.

I really, really appreciate the offer but I absolutely hate being a burden on anyone; I don't even ask my friends in guild for help with anything on my main server. I'm sure I'll manage somehow, if I did it as a warrior I can do it as a rogue. My char's name is Kawasumi on the chance I ever run into you though. (That's the other great thing about transferring, I got to give my character a name I actually like instead of the hideous one I originally gave it.)

I'm getting this week enough arena points for a new robe and I was thinking should I go for season 2 or season 3 gear? It's mainly a vanity question, since I would like to mix S2 shoulders, robe, and gloves with S3 parts for the looks.

But by what I have read it seems like S3 parts have some good improvements over the previous season, so would I be gimping my survivability too much?

After being on Proudmoore for a few days I have discovered that it is completely different from Stormscale. I see people ask questions in chat and, not only do people respond, they actually HELP. It's tough for me to even believe. I like being able to quest in peace too. Since I don't really have anything tying me to my other server (don't do anything with guild and RL friends aren't good and don't do anything but afk in Org or PvP) I may make this my new main eventually.

Then clearly you arent 70 yet. Priests have tons of problems. Ranging from our holy tree being a joke to shadow having next to no survivabillity. Discipline is really the only way to go.

When you see videos of SPriests in lets say 2200-2400 ins 2s and typically 5s you will notice the priest has full resiliency and its gemmed appropriately for max stam and spell damage. Shadowsong Amethysts, anyone? You tend to see less resiliency stam gems. You also tend to see alot of priests getting carried.

I think the best SPriest I've seen is Xantims. Swarm is alright but it looks like he gets carried hardcore, esp on his 5s which he is spec'd holy.

Instead of writing an incredibly rude paragraph and demeaning Startouch im just gonna say that you clearly know very little about PvP and arguing about getting 1 or 2 shot isnt much justification for what they've done now.

Jesus Christ, who peed in your cereal?

All I said was, I enjoy my priests, and never had any problems. Why bash my skulls for that? And was I directing it at Startouch? Do you see me addressing or quoting him/her?

...

But yes, one of my priests is 70.

And while I have been on and off, I've had the account since day one, and pvping since WSG's introduction.

I could actually say the same to yourself. A rude statement to demean me? Is that supposed to shake me up? Oh noes. Srs business.

I gave a pretty clear compare-and-contrast between the state of PvP pre-TBC and TBC. I even argued for AND against resilience. I gave my opinion that TBC PvP is leagues better from the pros and cons. But of course, none of that matters because you're caught up in your world of pre-TBC.

But hey, to each their own, yes?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You're also under the impression that this game has quite a standard of skill involved (I'm assuming this from you implying the gross requirement of "skill" in some of your posts). PvE has gotten a lot easier through the use of various forums and videos / strats are a lot more in the open these days. We also have more utilities to work on improving the raid (WWS, mods like Recount, etc). Unless one is in the top 10-20 guilds world-wide, one has pretty much zero bragging rights. I may have PvE gear rivalling the resto druids from say, Death and Taxes or Nightmare's Asylum or Elitist Jerks but I know they were there a long time before myself.
PvP / arena in TBC used to be awesome in Season 1 where you would see pretty wacky and unusual compositions but fast forward to our current Season 3 and all you see at the top are Flavour of the Month compositions (need some examples? Why hello there Warlock or Warrior / Druid, RMPs, Double melee zerg teams for 3v3, 2345/6, Euro Comps). The pinnacle of said "skill" isn't astoundingly high. Knowledge of one's class and twitch reactions. Not everyone can do it but surely you'd agree a fairly significant number of people can attain it. Then gear becomes a factor to separate two equally "skilled" combatants. When gear is equal, it comes down to two last factors. The RNG and synergy. Now, you tell me...assuming knowledge and gear is equal on two sides...do you honestly think the RNG (WELL-TIMED MACE STUN, RIGHT? /sarcasm) and synergy (yay I can play 2345/6, euro comp, drain team) are awesome factors of "skill"? Go ahead, entertain me a bit.
Pretty much agree with with Star with his opinion on PvP (and PvE). RK has a couple points with things like Holy and Shadow spec's but thats the same for all classes, GG Enhancement Shaman. Bliz is trying to make PvP better, they have more-or-less succeeded, but their solution wasn't the greatest, however for the life of me I can't think of a better one that is balanced all round.
RNG is the biggest crock, three melee team yesterday (in 5's), all three with Skillherald. That went well, for them maybe. Stuns coming out the arse.
It seems that so many WoW players nowdays get caught up in the elitism of what they do, whether it be PVE or PVP. As mentioned before, PVE isn't really hard unless you're getting world firsts. Even that is mostly dependent on how much effort and time you can put into it rather than skill. As an officer in my guild, I've found that PVE progression is 90% recruiting, 5% preparation, and 5% execution.
Likewise, PVP may take some skill, but it also comes down to how much you do it. After awhile, you get used to most situations. Once again, the very top of pvp may be where the real "skill" lies, but there's still RNG and countercomping in the picture. My take is that if you want pvp involving "skill" go play a FPS or RTS.
TLDR: PVP and PVE nerds are ridiculous. Play the game for fun.
On a side note, is anyone looking forward to 2.4? I figured I'd be more excited with the new content, but I'm feeling suprisingly meh. I like the changes to retribution paladin gear, but that excitement faded awhile ago. Now, I'm more interested in getting my hunter to 70 and gearing her out with the new badge gear and BoE nethers/vortexes. Maybe the excitement will kick in when I actually go to Sunwell.
Yeah, I at least want to try out the new 5 man instance, and the new marks for honor turn-in is a huge incentive to start playing my PvP-only warrior again, but that's about it. I don't raid with my guild and even if I did they are nowhere near the progression level to start the new 25 man. I'd like to be excited about the new world content at the sunwell but as my main is on a PvP server I am just going to avoid the frustration and stay away from there for a while. Honestly I am having the most fun leveling my recently re-activated 61 rogue to 70 so I will probably continue spending most of my time doing that. Although I read there is a buff to the exp from group and dungeon quests in the patch so that will actually come in handy.
The new 5man was really fun. Admittedly doing it with Hyjal/BT geared people gave us a lot of leeway with boss and mob abilities. Kael'thas was just like his 25man version for the most part and the loot was actually good for a normal mode instance.
The new dailies are pretty easy to do too, had no problem using my shadow priest that just hit 70 a few days ago and doing all the dailies in less then an hour.
Yeah, I'm waiting to give the new instances a go soon as a couple friend log on. But I might just crack and go with some random folks and throw some gold at Kael'thas again.
But little more serious, its bloody hard to get the daily quests done today, so crowded, I started some, and ended up at the Throne of Kil'jaeden, I was having flash backs to Launch day it was so crowded. I'm going to give up on Daily's for now, I think, until it cools down a little.
I was pretty disappointed with the change the Shamanistic Rage though. Thats going to hurt in some high-end stuff. /sigh. But instant Ghost Wolf is funny as all hell.
Time to fix mods again. Q_Q
It's kinda funny, that one daily where you have to blow up the gateway is actually easier to do with all the people around, your little flame pet grows from just standing near anyone killing an elemental. The ones from Shat that you do in Nagrand/Netherstorm are also extremely easy, there isn't much competition and they are very fast. But yeah, the other ones I didn't bother trying to finish, just too many people. (Yeah I said in my last post I was gonna avoid this stuff but couldn't resist)
Apparently Magister's Terrace is bugged, at least on my server. People who died apparently took 100% durability damage and were ported to Shat. No thanks.
That is actually a really good idea. I don't really do any content where the badge gear would be needed so I may as well make some money instead.
Yeh, I am looking forward to never running Kael and Vashj again because SSC/TK trash is so long. I hated it alot.
Magister's Terrace is really awesome for a 5-man. The loot isnt half bad either. The heroic gear rivals T5 and even some hyjal loot imo. Like its a sidegrade. The new bagde gear is great too. I'm loving picking up badges of justice in dailies and BT/Hyjal bosses. Also they made it so 3 pieces of T6 drop off a single boss. (That wont do anything for me atm but it will help my guildies out a bit.)
The added dailies are great. They are easy to do and there is 7 of them if you have a gathering profession with more to come as you unlock the city. Its nice not having to go to BEM for dailies. However, did anyone notice that the Skettis Escort quest got nerfed. No longer comes with potions and they nerfed the amount of money you get. I no longer do it and just do the bombing.
But of course, none of that matters because you're caught up in your world of pre-TBC.
No... I'm caught up in a world that i will dominate in PvP regardless, yet Pre-BC was leagues better.
So far 2.4 has been pretty cool. MT's alright for its intended difficulty range for 5-mans. Heroic MT is pretty fun and yields some awesome trinkets (the tank trinket and expertise trinkets are freakishly good).
I found the Sunwell trash to be somewhat relaxing, though you certainly can't slack off too much. If I had one complain, I just found the trash leading to Kalecgos a little too excessive but oh well, perhaps it's my bias and impatience to see a new boss encounter.
And speaking of Kalecgos...this is a beautiful example of how to design the first encounter of a high-end instance. No need for attunements, Kalecgos is a pretty tough boss (for being the first encounter in the instance) that is sure to keep the undergeared and unprepared out for a long time. I'm looking forward to killing him tomorrow (we only had a 3 hour raid today. Much sadness at only seeing ~40%, though we didn't try him on the PTR) and getting my rear kicked by Brutallus.
New dailies are fine and generally easy. Though the new bombing daily is a little annoying (damn evading mobs).
In all, I'm pleased with patch 2.4.
