In that case, Wendi still took 2 bullets. And Nove wasn't shot in the final act.

I was refering only to numbers that were hit. Two of them only.

Let's see, she faced 3 Numbers with the following specialties. Uendi with a med. powered weapon/shield/mobile sled, Deed who is a blade weapons specialist and Nove who is their melee/mobility specialist [similar to Subaru]. Now Teana can do all this, though not at the equivalent power level. She does have a number of advantages over them.

1. She's faster than Uendi in the attack and applying a defensive counterbattery because of her training with Nanoha.
2. Her Weapon is likely stronger and harder than Deed's. A direct attack on it broke Nove's skates. Therefore she has a defensive advantage against Deed.
3. In general, she's also more patient than the Numbers in order to analyse their attack patterns. Nove with her hotbloodedness is going to get into trouble after being continuously provoked by the decoys.
4. She's the most tactically creative of the Forwards. The girl is also the most ruthless [headshot FTW ] and pressure resistant [when she get's screwed, she increases the personal difficulty in training >_<]. The Numbers for all their advantages don't put themselves under the same amount of stress. One minute they are test tube babies, the next- Cyborg Killing Maiden. I'm sure the shift would be quite shocking for them.
5. I mentioned this before, Teana has been training with and against a Combat Cyborg for even longer than the captains. With her headpower, she's likely to have been able to defeat Subaru numerous times over that period. Next to Subaru and the captains, the Numbers would have done well to regard her as their most dangeros possible opponent.

Ironically, it is the Numbers' conservatism that really bagged them rather than hot-headedness. If they were hot-headed, they'd have gone in individually, and that will actually have given them a high probability of success now that they've (finally) acquired the real Teana.

This is to say, she's the only one in all of RF6 with tactics.

Yeah. They never really faced a situation where they had to go Out of Drill.

I'm not sure training with Subaru would help her, because while they are all cyborg, their characteristics are very different.

I'd say it's the most likely source to learn the effect of a concussive AP bolt to the head of a Combat Cyborg . If it works for one, why shouldn't it work for the others

It seems that mages can be just as easily knocked out if they are unprepared. Again, see Nanoha Ep7 or thereabouts (Chrono enters the stage).

^^Well, yeah- but headshots happen to be something that has to be willingly trained . I got that from a Railgun loving Quake player .

It may also be her habit of taking down the opposition as quickly and efficiently as possible. Teana isn't a 9 yr old trying to make friends, her lesbot partner is enough Now, if the Numbers were more present to this they would have watched out for their heads more.

Well, headshots are deadly on humans too. It does say a lot of her mentality.

Any way you cut it, Teana doesn't realize that by TSAB standards, she already has one "chou-ichi-ryuu" area, and perhaps the most important of all. Better yet, she isn't taking up a lot of room on her future command's mage allocation limits

Come to think of it... is it Teana's very attitude that flunked her out of officer's school, as not having the style of TSAB officers?

While it is a big help to be a mage, you don't have to be a mage at all to become an officer (see Major Nakajima). And Teana does seem to have brains, both in tactics and in magic (her Variable Shoot is a AA skill, and realistic illusions can hardly be simple to cast no matter what your raw power). So if it isn't magic and it isn't brains, it must be ... attitude...

Decrease TSAB's score by 10 if this is true (even though the current score is already a negative)...

Er, that would mean she likely gave a headshot to her Command School instructor as well Wow, the girl just doesn't discriminate All that talent momentarily stalled because of trying too hard

No matter, it appears the vast majority have pacifist tendencies that don't hold up too well against merciless killing machines.

No, but I think that during an interview, this mentality of her leaked into her answers. The psychologist looked at her answers and said no.

"Officer Candidate Lanstar. Suppose there are 3 criminals in a building. You are alone and reinforcements are nowhere in sight, so it is up to you. What do you do."
"I'd set up an ambush and deal them headshots, sir."
"..."

finally got to watch the full episode in RAW form and I still can't get enough of Teana's battle with the three Numbers.
She has realized that she didn't really need to become stronger just to show how skilled you are. You just need good tactics to escape from a situation where you think its impossible to escape. Unlike Teana back when she wanted to become really strong and over exerting yourself to training, she really has learned how creating smart tactics like that can make yourself stronger and intimidate your opponents at the same time.
Spoiler for more thoughts:

EDIT: Looks like Nanoha's left arm is injured from that limiter release and excellion buster combo that she did to Dieci. I'm starting to wonder if whatever injuries Nanoha had 8 years ago during that ambush incident, has somewhat downgraded her durability to handle powerful blaster shots compared to herself 10 years ago when she first started using Raging Heart.

Subaru has something in common with the Numbers Tia fought: she charges with tremendous power, but without thinking much.

Or maybe Dieci's attack simply did some damage?

haven't seen the episode, but isn't that the oh-so-dangerous blaster mode's first limit release?

Concidering Nanoha said something about Blaster Mode afterwards, I'd say the cause is Blaster Mode.

It would make logical sense that Nanoha wouldn't ever be able to blast off high power attacks like she could in her youth, given her body as already been battered by it and will probably never fully heal back to how it was when she was young.

On the other hand, her power continues to grow, with the S test and then S+. I guess this is one of the things they'd never actually tell us the answer to, even more than the NxF question.

If there is something that Subaru helped with, it's probably Teana's understanding how cyborg optics work.

Judging from episode 17, it seems that deceiving a cyborg with illusions is something that is normally not feasible
