I actually find the PC designs horrible, and I'm glad they didn't use them.

Not bad so far. The animation was certainly impressive. Very nice and clean looking.

But can someone tell me if this is a haram show? I know Arawn is suppose to have multiple "wives" and I can't stand shows where girls just parade around the male lead and no real romantic chemistry ever develop between one of the girls and the lead.

It sucks that we have to wait a week for the new episode and then a day or so until it's subbed, but it will be worth it as I feel this series has the potential to be the best series of this anime season.

So how many are watching TtT on their PC via bittorrent or on Animax-Asia?

Like I mentioned, it gives me a Scrapped Princess vibe, I have no idea of the story, but if it retains the humour in that one for awhile, before taking a more serious turn, I wouldn't mind at all. (I'm watching the subs.)

If you want the sex scenes, PC version.
If you want better graphics, updated artwork, renewed character designs, and improved battle system, the PS3 version.

Well, I happen to have a dick, so I prefer the PC version. And no, I don't wanna hear your naysayings about it.

Ah but yea he pretty much summed up the differences...Personally I much prefer the PS3 character designs. Some of the PC ones were rather plain looking.

Notably, if utawarerumono is to be of any kind of an example, the adult version tends to have deeper characters. The non-adult version and anime axed quite a lot of Yuzuha's and Kamui's character for example to fit the non-adult theme. Will probably see some of the same here seeing how team working on the project is pretty much the same lead-wise.

Honestly, penis or vagina, neither Uta nor TtT are good material for torpedo polishing. Sex scenes are mainly used to advance plot and provide some insight into characters - they are far too few and short for any meaningful stroke material.

Then again, I suppose it's the age thing as well. I still remember finding half-scrambled porn channels to be good stroke material back in early teen years. Still TtT is definitely more in the ballpark of "necessity for character description" kind of adult material then stroke one.

If you haven't played the PS3 version, I suggest not making comments about it. The development is there, the flaws I found mainly cover the background story and the villains. I don't understand why the PS3 version is still considered "inferior" just because it lacks 18+ scenes.

it is not inferior but it is different. i do like some of the new designs for the ps3 more then the pc but it is a moot points. Since if you want to play the game in Eng, you have to play the pc ver, the ps3 ver is unlikely to port over.

Simple: Original plot is written with adult themes (and scenes) included. It is a titanic work to convert a well written R-rated work into a well written PG-13 work without losing emotional impact in the process.

In most cases, developers cut corners and just cut stuff out. Utawarerumono's Yuzuha nad Kamui make textbook examples - for example it's bloody hard to rewrite
Spoiler for Utawarerumono spoiler:
and still manage to hold on to PG-13 rating. Not just because of the sex with the minor - the entire concept is almost impossible to rewrite to be rated PG-13 due to adult core theme.
Cutting just the sex scene isn't going to get the rating desired - it's still going to go M pretty much everywhere, if not banned for "implied sex with a minor".
Therefore scenes like that get cut out completely, often losing some important emotional impact of the plot along the way as collateral. And like it or not, it diminishes the emotional impact of the plot - often by a great deal. Because these are the stories written for adults, by adults. You have to dumb them down a bit to get younger audience as whole interested.

There is always a possibility of generally preserving the plot, implying the sex scene rather then actually writing it, and preserving the plot as it is. This is not only much harder to do then above mentioned approach, but also will get you less audience due to harsher ratings - which defeats the original purpose. You both lose the "oo, porn" audience as well as younger audience, while gaining nothing. Bad.

And that is why some of us don't like the non-H versions of those games that originally were H. Not the lack of actual stroke material, because frankly, the stroking value of it in games like TtT and Uta is nil for almost anyone of legal age. It's because it dimishes the plot itself.
And if I want to see something dumbed down for general use I'll go grab a final fantasy, or some random disney production. They're usually quite good in their own right.

Notably, the above concept is applcable to "adult to non-adult" conversions in general, all across the board. Some people who don't play/watch/read such things for emotional impact (but for example for gameplay reasons) may not notice. but those of us who enjoy a little bit of dissemination of the story and deep characters tend to get turned off quite a bit.

And then, of course, there's the folks who will play these games for stroke value , no matter how low it actually is. But that's a different issue entirely. And that's my entire point in a nutshell:

TL;DR: often, pornographic material is important to the emotional impact of the production and/or plot development - cutting it out dimishes this impact. As a result, such cut down versions can be rightfully considered inferior to the original work.

Okay, since you've played it, mind enlightening me on the PS3 version's turn-based combat system? I've only seen it in action, briefly, in promo vids. There are almost no gameplay vids of the PS3 version up on NicoNico. One important question is.....is there any concept of cover? Can your units take cover behind solid objects to avoid projectile fire?

Hmmm, delicious.

BTW, I just watched this at random and I was drawn in. Hopefully this will be good, although I don't plan to touch the PS3 game and likely won't pirate the PC edition.
