And I asked you the reasons but you didn't answer, but whatever... wasn't your discussion with me ended?
I only explained my sentence about Linebarrel and Dragonout, that's all!

well the crappiness of this show is reaching Dragonaut's one very fast.
Let me rephrase then. I do not believe the show is reaching Dragonaut's level of crappiness. It's not even near that level. Of course, there is still over half a season to go and for all we know it can go downhill really fast.

As for why it's not as bad at the moment....The characterization for one. I'm sorry but the butcher job they did with Kazuki's character was absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the very flat and boring Jin and Toa. No chemistry, nothing really in common at all. Yet, we are supposed to buy that they are so IN LOVE. The plot was a trainwreck. It was basically Toa getting kidnapped every other episode. The ending was just plain silly. The overall concept of these dragon aliens that bond with humans wasn't a bad one, but the execution was just terrible.

Linebarrel, while not a masterpiece, has a better written plot. Sure, it's not very original but it's still more solid than Dragonaut. And for all that Kouichi can be an annoying dork he is a better developed character than any character from Dragonaut. You actually see him grow and it's rather believable.

Has anyone seen the first picture drama for the show, it was on the 1st DVD of the show. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there will be anymore on upcoming DVDs?

If someone can see the good in Dragonaut, wow.

Well, I've actually been a more avid fan of the manga than the anime (been reading it for couple years now), even though the latter does include some pretty nice beat-em-up sequences, but in terms of the story, its drastically different, and so far, dare I say, inferior to its paper counterpart.

See, the manga offered some very thought-provoking moments that thus far, its anime version simply lacked. Alright, so the anime version opted for a straight-forward storytelling technique, and at least right now, doing a good job, but Gonzo better double-time their creativity quick, because one can only go so far with a storytelling technique like that.

Now, I don't know why the anime series cannot be slightly more faithful to the manga, but instead opted to turn it into some sort of mecha harem comedy (while the main focus on the manga had always been the primary coupling). Not that I have a problem with it, its definitely not as bad as Dragonaut (even if it was never a harem comedy, and the comparison seems out of place, but whatever), but I'd like to see how the producers twist the animated version around.

In any case, the events in 13 did happen in the manga, although much, much later, with very different proceedings and outcome. I'd like to see what the anime would do after this, and I am hoping Gonzo's creative energy won't let me down (so please don't give me my absolute worst expectations I have for Reiji).

- Tak (And Yamashita is definitely a guy, even though he was tricked into dressing in a bikini by a certain member of the twins... on a 2nd thought... forced is more like it)

Refer to the 00 issue. When Shizuna dressed him up in a bikini, Izuna commented on how horrible a trick his sister was playing on him, and he should be totally ashamed for doing it.

Yes, I am referring to the beach episode also on the anime. Except it wasn't an over-sized octopus... it was a giant rat, grown by the president of Juda, no less...

Moreover, he is always addressed as Yamashita-kun, not only by his superiors but peers as well.

Oh certainly, lots of Kouichi-nosebleed in that chapter:

They did, so far, change the gender of one supporting character, and that is the American captain whom commandeered the transport that brought Linebarrels to space. In the anime, she is female and a Murrue Ramius lookalike. In the manga, he is an old fart (who has a significant supporting role). Not sure why the change, but I suspect she will also play a bigger role in the anime.
