Hmmmm the PV looks pretty good but the music sounds like a cat getting her tail yanked. Hirai's design repeats itself quite often throughout the stuff that he has done but I really don't mind it too much.

Mech design wise looks interesting but the CGI looks mediocre, too shiny and doesnt match the background.

I agree, hopefully the ecchi material won't get out of control.

Hopefully... (thinks of Rosario to Vampire...)

I was hoping GONZO would draw the mecha, but... ugh.. I'm tired of CGI now! I actually prefer drawn by hand mecha to CGI mecha. This one reminds me of Zearth from Bokurano ~_~;

Shame about the mechs being in CGI instead animated, the meches in the manga look great like a mix of Z.O.E. and EVA, being in CGI looses it's awesome look it has.

I don't find nake girls in mecha series ecchi, in fact it's quite natural in most circumstance like Eva with Rei, Aquarion lol, Gunbuster, Apple Seed hmm what else?

I think most mecha these days use some CGI. Gundam's mecha are partially CGI I think and seem fine to me.

I don't like CGI. To more precise the movements and agles that come with using CGI.
They also always use this mirror surface style, which kinda bugs me.

Yes but it's "etchii material" (or fanservicece) when they add it in.
That naked girl scene wasn't suppose to be in there.

I won't debate on your preference in anime but it really depends on the context in which it is used, let say for example that scenes holds future spoilers that are relevant and meaningful. I've seen alot of anime and naked girls that are awoken from capsule of some sort are common amongst other thing, it just doesn’t strike me as fanservice.

To be clear it wasn't in the manga but I haven't read much of the manga to know if there's a more significant meaning to it besides showing us some skin.

If the CGI haters had their way, we'd have characters drawn and animated like they are from some dilapidated episode of the latest filler arc of <insert random shounen series here>.

No, I wouldn't want that.

Personally, I don't think the CGI is all that bad (not that it's that good, either), but if it were more along the lines of what was in Macross Frontier, it would be much better. On the other hand, that'd probably require a much larger budget, so :/

there's a countdown at CR if thats any indication and no news on BOST atm.

EDIT:

This very much confirms it, lack of BOST is quite sad.

It appears it will, like Druaga, Strike Witches and Blassreiter, have its own YouTube account:

If the schedule is anything like Blassreiter, the episode is airing right now and will be released in...one hour and thirty minutes (9pm GMT+1). Scratch that, make it two hours.

However, for those who can't wait, here's the 2chan thread:
Spoiler for 2chan thread for KnLB ep1:

RULES:

- Do NOT spread the 2chan link.
- If you want to quote my post, then please ERASE THE URL.
- If you want to (re)post screenshots from 2chan, then reload them on Imageshack and kindly supply the new links. In other words, do NOT hotlink.

When the short-lived 2chan threads get junked along with their contents (meaning: the screenshots), the broken urls lead the user to a pageful of adult advertisements, a type of content that goes against Animesuki's policy on inappropriate material.

I'll erase the URL in a few hours (at least until the first raw appears you-know-where) so, if you want to visit the page later on, save my link somewhere (in your bookmarks, whatever) while it's still up.

EDIT: since the episode is available on Crunchyroll, the need for the 2chan link is gone. Just go to CR and watch the real thing instead.

Just watched the first episode. It was...well...Unimpressive? The took out what made the manga not-so-cliché and with an awesome main character. Oh well, it was just the first episode, so I won't give up on this one because I love the source.

There's one thing that was just incredible: The music. The tracks used in the Linebarrel activation and the fight made them a lot better. Really looking forward to hear more of the O.S.T. And the ending theme by Maaya was lovely.

Also, woot, Nakamura Yuiichi had a line in the first episode! Didn't expect that , At least in the preview looks like he's going to appear more next episode. (And also looks like they are going to use more stuff from the manga)

I'm curious on what you mean no by not-so-cliche? I'm sure I can find examples supporting cliche in every sense. Hayase awesome , lol. his quite awesome in his own way but I dispise him with great hatred.

For some reason or other, they've region lock (not sure if that's the appropriate term) the stream on crunchyroll, blocking out Singapore watchers (and maybe a few other countries). Perhaps it's purely a US-only release?

Very true, the musical score was very impressive. It's by Conisch --- never heard of the name before, though i know i'll be looking out for it more after that very impressive sound in the first episode.

Well I watched the first episode and even though I'm caught up on the manga (Vol 9) as a stand alone show I found it entertaining.
Also IIRC this episode is based on Volume 0
