Yup, fighting Daraba on you're first playthrough is quite hard. It took me about 8 times to defeat him the first time >.>.

I use Nozomu, Nozomi and Katima. They are about the same level as yours, so no problem with levels.

Nozomu: Cross Divider 1 / Aura shield 1 / Celestiary 1
Nozomi: Doesn't need to attack / Deboted Block 1 (sp?) / Breeze relieve 1
Katima: 星火燎原の太刀 1 / best defence / Terra 1

First turn Nozomu attacker, Nozomi defender and Katima supporter.
second turn Katima attacker, Nozomu defender and Nozomi supporter.
third turn Katima attacker, Nozomi defender and Nozomu supporter.

after this is a matter of attack ( with Nozomu ) or heal ( with Nozomu ). You need to time it right.

The reason why the second I use Nozomi as supporter is:
1) breeze relieve 1 has higher level than energy link 1 ( so it won't be vanished )
2) second turn Daraba use an balanced attack ( attack with M damage and F damage)
3) breeze relieve 1 is a life saver when Daraba use his best attack ( auto heal when some one falls below 50% HP ), if lighting bolt isn't in the remaining zone.

Also why I didn't use it on the first turn is, Daraba starts with an attack with high M damage that only Nozomi can block, so It's not worth it to use breeze relieve 1 just to heal that damage.

Daraba has a quite fixed attack pattern, but in rare cases he will a bit different.

High M damage -> Balance M/F damage -> High M damage and % F damage.

That's weird...@_@ It only took me two tries to kick his ass on my first playthrough, and that was with Nozomu, Nozomi and Satsuki.

and got owned by his shinju's attack >.>

probally my japanese wasn't that good, so couldn't make a good strategy >.>;

Same here... First time I went with that same party but, got killed. Next I used Sorluska, Nozomi and Nozomu and managed to kick his ass, though, Sorluska was defeated >.>

Seconded!

Also, when Euphie grows up, shouldn't she look more like her mother? I wonder if Euphie will inherit Aseria's flat chest...

Well, I'm not denying it. >__> Me liking Euphie, Sol and Rin should be enough of a hint to my lolicon-ness.

Not saying I don't like that grown up version is just... I don't feel any Euphie-like cuteness coming from her.

My ears are burning.

By the way, I'm curious, would people recommend I play Aselia 1 before this or am I good not playing it. I ask because the character design just irks me a lot and I'm not really enjoying it all that much. I've been playing for ages and even rather texty H-RPGS like Prism Ark would have given me a battle or something by now. I ended up trying to skip ahead to the battles and wasn't particularly impressed by what I saw. It doesn't seem like I really get to do much of anything and the menus are needlessly confusing and hard to navigate I find, even for somebody who is pretty versed in playing RPGS in Japanese.

The whole experience has been pretty underwhelming so far so I want to know how much of an improvement gameplay wise Seinarukana is before I skip ahead. If someone can give me a primer of any critical plot detail in the first game I'll gladly just move along if the game if Seinarukana is much better.

Plot wise, Eien no Aseria is much better than Seinarukana.

Gameplay wise, Seinarukana has the upper hand.

Okay, how long to the first instance of combat then? Also does the game include a tutorial for the combat. I sense that the whole Attacker, Defender, Supporter thing means the Attacker attacks the Defender and is supported with magic or other skills by the Supporter. Am I right?

Combat begins after Restina's father "convinces" Yuuto to take up Motome and become their Etranger. At first you use Aseria, Esperia and Orpha, but Yuuto comes in after an event. I'm pretty sure that Esperia explains how the system works in Eien no Aseria, just like how Rehme and Satsuki-senpai explains the system in Seinarukana

I actually meant approximately how far into Seinakrukana does the first combat take place as I plan to skip to it. Incidentally I uninstalled Eien No Aselia tonight and my computer rebooted for some reason. After the restart it finally started running like a proper 2.4 again and the sluggishness I've been getting for the past couple months disappeared. Weird......

Anyway hopefully I'm not shooting myself in the foot plotwise by skipping ahead.

Seinarukana's combat begins after you meet up with Katima and decide to cooperate with her. Cue first mission.

I've only just started this game and could use some advice on how to get SS rank in the 1st campaign in chapter 2. I followed the guide and sent Nozomu's group up and Katima's group to the left. However, the enemies on the left included one group with a red supporter. How do I beat this group without taking casualties?

Use the Red Defender when the Red Supporter uses her spells. She should take no damage from it.
