Is there some truth to that thing or is it just a joke? I know there was a thing with the real Chuck Yeager and this show a little bit ago.

I rewatched that episode.

There were no LCD displays, they used CRT (black and white screens) to display graphs and (maybe) radar (see left). The one to the right is just a map.

Depends on what you want to DO in said castle...

On a total tangent while skimming the thread I noticed a mention of a deployment to Romagna by some characters in the Manga. From what I gather said Manga has not been translated so do we have any more information on that? I ask because being utterly ignorant of the moonspeak, but quite interested in the setting I'm curious. Also if it's happening in 44 it would roughly fit in with the time period when the Allies invaded Italy during the war since that campaign ended up turning into a meat grinder that lasted pretty much until the Germans surrendered. Churchill was slightly off with that whole "soft underbelly" thing.

There isn't much info there. From what I've gathered, the Principality of Romagna (ロマーニャ公国) is still under human control. Minna describes Romagnans as very liberal and free in her 4th lecture, kinda the opposite of Fascist Italy.

On the military side of things, most Romagnan troops are deployed in the Alps holding off the Neuroi in Gallia. They also provided regular soldiers for the Afrikakorps, facing the Neuroi which headed south from the Black Sea into Egypt. Supposedly their navy is also powerful in the Mediterranean Sea.

Goshiki and Hayate from the manga are joining the 504th JFW in Romagna, but little else is mentioned.

Mio, upon hearing Goshiki's plans on how to get to Romagna (past hotbeds of Neuroi in Karlsland, Ostmark and Gallia) after stowing away to Britannia to see Yoshika...

(Note to self: don't scan things at 100 dpi any more...)

Well, there's no need to clutter a discussion forum with images. The most Strike Witches fanart I've ever seen in one place is probably on the desuchan threads.

Thread 1: http://desuchan.net/a/res/1148.xhtml
Thread 2: http://desuchan.net/a/res/5564.xhtml

That's around 1300 images I believe, with a few screencaps mixed in at the beginning, but not later on. The sort of place the downthemall plugin is made for.

Spoiler for for size:

Next stop Eila & Sanya
I like Erica too. She's adorable how aloof she is. I wish we could find a good image of her failed attempt to flag down the truck.
That and Luchinni curled up in the chair sleeping.

Those are some good links. It's cool to see all the bits of history they added. It seems it's not just a loli, fetish show. You also get some history in it too.

Strike Witches will be available 23 hours later but in the mean time I'm curious myself, if possible I wanted to make a voting poll if people believe hints of season 2 will be shown at the end of the episode 12. (Reference to Druaga/Vandread ending)
Of course everyone that has been reading this thread is wishing for one but how many believes they will use the preview as news to season 2.

P.S need moar Mio pics

I think my main concern for the final episode is the conclusion of the relationship of between the Neuroi and humans.

I think depending on the outcome, it may either increase/decrease the chances for a season 2.

Of course, I am hoping for a "see you in 2009/201*" at the end of the show.

Seeing the preview and all the points leading up to now, I'd say there is some manner of a search for a connection, but it's not quite there.

I'll have avatars ready by tomorrow to commemorate a good season 1!
