Just read tinnitus problem for Ayumi Hamasaki

This is sad to hear. She is a wonderful singer, I would like to know if it was 'band practice' or if it was the 'Competition Car Stereos' that caused her problem.

We've been 'beaten to death' on my street several times by the people readying car stereos for the most loudest car sound on the planet test they do on South Padre Island from like 1990 up. And I lost hearing in one ear for about 9 months. It did come back after they no longer were allowed over here.
Needless to say headaches have never left when they sat across the street and pounded us into the ground with it making our house a speaker box.

Hope hearing returns in both ears for her, but not likely if continued music subwoofer bass happens.

.

Probably an excuse for whatever is really plaguing her. Just saying.

I think I heard it on TV, and the damage seems to be permanent.
Oh, she also said, "As long as my other ear still hears, I will continue to sing."
That's touching.

It's so sad... I wonder how much longer she will be able to sing. Her performance will probably start to deteriorate. I don't think it's possible to regain your hearing if you have Tinnitis

Did they say she completely lost hearing in one ear beyond recovery or just that she had Tinnitus? Because Tinnitus doesn't necessarily mean deafness, the basic condition is a constant high-frequency ringing sound. Lots of people who listen to loud music, but especially musicians, are likely to get it at some point.

Very sad to hear this. Hopefully, it's not permanent, but, I wouldn't get my hopes up for that.

She lost hearing in one ear (Left, I think) not tinnitus. But I hope she finds a way to get over it soon ):

The fact that she's been having problems with that ear is old old old news. It's no surprise that she has finally completely lost her hearing in that one.

Just curious, why did you say she's using it as an excuse?

Because her star is falling and she won't admit it.

But since Zoe says she's had the problem for a long time, I stand corrected.
