I agree dude, and it's sad. The first time I heard it, the whole time I was thinking, "My God, these guys must be begging to get on the radio." When bands are big, some of them stop putting so much strength into records, because these mainstream radio listeners don't like unique music. If anything, these mainstream kids think having different sounding records is stupid.

I really have a bad additude about the mainstream, and mainstream listeners, but I think it's true how things are so commercialized to the point of artistic blocking.

Is it just me or is the Australian band Airborne isn't mentioned just yet? The rhythm somehow brings me back to the 80's style of rock and metal in some way, especially "Stand Up For Rock And Roll"

Axl's live performances are pretty wack, I hear. Rage Against the Machine are pretty good too.

I agree, Meteora and Hybrid Theory were much better.

A lot of bands these days seem to do it solely for the money, which is a shame because if they slowed down and took their time writing music instead of figuring out how to make more $$$ we'd have a wider selection of good music.
There are still bands out there that take their time releasing albums that are unique and IMO these bands are better, Quality > Quantity.

Some of my favourite Rock bands are:
Bon Jovi
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Guns N' Roses
U2
Nirvana
Wolfmother
Powderfinger
Rage Against The Machine

Television is one of my favorite bands at the moment. If you want to know more about them, search for Marquee Moon on Youtube.

Does somebody know a band who makes similar music? If yes, please let me know

Not really my type of music - but they remind me of Franz Ferdinand, maybe try them.

I don't hate the fact Linkin Park has become mainstream their new songs aren't terrible but I think its a shame they've changed their music genre which their fan base loved.

The thing with music artist, if they don't change their style, people will brand them repetitive and boring. It is also challenging for a musician to try out new things. But i cannot really comment on Linkin Park, since i don't know them very well. Just look at some older bands and musicians and how they have changed during the years.

Some Solid Rock Music - The Energy

Hey all, you say you are looking for some good Rock music, well A solid band that I have been listening to lately is The Energy out of NYC. Their latest EP "Climbing Palace Walls" is a great listen. A couple of my favorite tunes are Triple Ex and Runaway. The Energy has been compared to bands like Switchfoot, Lifehouse, and Better than Ezra. If you are in NYC you can catch them Feb 8th at the Knitting Factory and Feb 13th at The Highline Ballroom in NYC. They are a great live act - check 'em out and let me know what you think! Enjoy.

OK, so anyone else here big into progressive rock? From the classic legends of Rush, King Crimson and Yes to the modern prog acts of Coheed & Cambria, The Mars Volta and The Protomen, progressive rock is a genre that is sure to constantly evolve, but never go away.

I was wondering what people thought of this song. I just discovered it and I think I'll be listening to it all day on Monday

I could never get into Rush...
I like Riverside a lot out of new progressive bands and am currently trying to hammer the new Transatlantic record into my head. Darn those suite-esque longtracks.
