So, the Vivio talk means I have to post this short. And in advance, I am blaming RB for it.

The Rematch



"Hand to hand with no magic, a 5 minute match, same as before," Nove was saying. "No lethal moves, winner determined by knockout. Have a good clean fight, and go!"

She waved her hand and stepped back, as the two fighting girls took stances and started to circle each other. They leapt in, traded a few strikes, and leapt out again.

"I hope they don't get too rough," Nanoha said with a bit of worry in her voice, watching the fight.

"Don't worry, they'll be fine," Subaru told her, as the two girls traded blows again. "In fact, Vivio seemed most eager to have her rematch with Einhart, although I'm not sure why."

The women turned back to the fight, where the girls had finished testing defenses, and were getting more aggressive. As they charged at each other, Einhart dropped and swept her leg out, but Vivio jumped and flipped over her opponent. She lanced out behind with her own mid-level kick, but Einhart was already dropping and rolling under it, then sprung to her feet, coming in with a close-range punch.

Then, to the surprise of all, she suddenly stopped inches from Vivio, who took advantage of the pause to grab the arm and flip the other girl into the ground. She backed up as Einhart leapt to her feet, but there was a confused look on her face.

"Why did she just pause like that?" Corona wondered aloud, speaking what everyone was thinking. "She would have landed the punch."

Next to her, a certain agent sighed.

"Tea?" Subaru questioned. "Do you know something?"

"I promised not to say," she replied glumly.

The two fighters closed in again, Einhart leading in with a flying kick which Vivio dodged. She landed and flipped backwards onto her hands, twirling both legs. Vivio blocked with crossed forearms, then charged in as Einhart returned to her feet and twisted to face the attack. She clearly saw it coming, but froze again as Vivio delivered a 1-2 punch combo, finishing with a spin kick that knocked the other girl away.

"Is it some kind of bind spell?" Rio considered.

Nanoha shook her head. "No, I didn't sense any magic being used."

"And magic is against the rules," Nove added, studying her pupil. "Vivio wouldn't cheat. But still...."

While both opponents were panting, and the time limit was approaching, Einhart was clearly the more battered of the two. Her face was showing more confusion and puzzlement now, but there was still determination there. She wasn't going to lose!

As the last minute ticked on, the two girls closed in again, trading lighting-fast punches and kicks. As before, Einhart suddenly froze in the middle, and Vivio took advantage, landing several solid punches to the girls abdomen and chest, then dropping to sweep her off her feet with her leg. Nove finally noticed that Vivio had her right eye closed during it, but couldn't figure out why.

Einhart hit the ground with a thud as time was called, and didn't get up. The small audience moved in, checking Einhart for injuries, while Vivio flashed a V-sign with her fingers for victory.

"Alright, spill it Tea, what was going on out there?" Subaru demanded.

Tea merely looked at Vivio, who smiled and answered for her. "Well, since Einhart kept insisting that a real fighter uses everything she has, and that I was too straight-forward, I had Teana do a little checking."

"Does this have something to do with why you kept closing one of your eyes?" Nove inquired.

Vivio nodded, grinning. "Apparently, Einhart had a traumatic incident with a traffic light awhile back...."

Completely blaming RB for this. I toss out a half-baked idea on AIM, and she's all "YOU HAVE TO WRITE THAT!" Although, in all fairness, it was born out of my post in another thread about her eye colors and Vivid. And, since you've come this far...

"Nanoha-mama, how much longer do I have to do this?" Vivio whined.

"The engineers are almost done, honey, just a little longer," Nanoha soothed from the corner.

Vivio sighed, realizing that perhaps she shouldn't have used that trick to defeat Einhart, as she turned to the next street in the intersection and opened her right eye while closing her left to signal that the next line of cars could go.

When the morning light woke me from my restless sleep, I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling above me. I heard soft snoring sounds coming from downstairs and last night's events lingered on my mind even more than before. I had made a huge mistake, and I felt as if I was going to throw up just thinking about it. After taking a deep breath, I rubbed my sore eyes to remove the remains of dried tears. I took a moment to steady myself and forced my body to move before I changed my mind. After claiming my wheelchair, I went downstairs to Fate and gently shook her shoulder.

"Wake up," Nanoha's soft voice requested to her sleeping friend. "Fate-chan?" Red eyes slowly opened and she gave a weak smile for them. "You need to meet with Yuuno-kun, remember?" Fate blinked a few times and then nodded while pulling herself up to sit properly. "Hey... Fate-chan?" The blond looked down at the girl next to her and Nanoha felt her stomach turn in knots. "For what its worth... I'm sorry for what I did."

"...Yeah." Fate rubbed her eyes and the bridge of her nose. "Its okay, Alicia-"

"No," Nanoha shook her head. "Regardless, I let my feelings win over rational thinking. I used what she said as an excuse to lie to myself to make it seem okay... I shouldn't have. I'm sorry."

The honest tone in her friend's voice made Fate soften. "Apology accepted. Thank you for understanding... I know I don't have to but I'd feel a lot better saying this..." The girl let Nanoha nod before continuing. "I love my wife, and my family. I know you are her in a different world and all but... I'm faithful to her, and I know she will understand what happened. On my wife's behalf, I want to say that she would forgive you as well."

"...Thank you." Nanoha hung her head for a moment before nodding. "I know apologizing won't make it right, but I hope we can still be friends while you're here."

"Yes," Fate reached out and took Nanoha's hand. "Of course."

Feeling the awkward sensation course through her, Nanoha took her hand back and placed it on the red orb to control her chair. "Well, I'll go get dressed. You need to contact your sister and Yuuno-kun, 'kay?"

"Mmn," Fate nodded yet again and watched the girl move away from her. Once clear from sight, Fate let out a soft sigh, rubbing her temples. 'The next few days are going to be really awkward...'

The next morning is always more awkward...it's nice to see Alt!Nanoha apologize, but it doesn't quite resolve the issues at all. I feel the sorriest for Nanoha right now...she has no idea what happened to her wife, back in Fate's world....

Um... Not dead?

Sorry for being gone so long from here, but I haven't been thinking of the Nenoha story for some time, but now I managed to get something. Hope you'll like it.

Spoiler for Fate's Nightmare:

This was only a dream for her, but it felt very real for her. Fate was in a dense fog surrounding the former Sector Six building which had been rebuilt after the attack on it by Jail Scaglietti. The fog was very thick, so thick she could barely see what was in front of her. First thing she noticed, was a car. It was seen by its lights still glowing, but when she came close enough to see it fully, its roof had been smashed in by a large rock. Seeing as the building was under attack, Fate reached for Bardiche, but found to her displeasure that he wasn't there.

Deciding to enter anyway, Fate saw one figure standing by the elevator. He didn't seem to move at all, until she discovered that he had been turned to stone. It was one of her associates, an enforcer apprentice, one of the best. Then she saw another one, and this time it was someone recognized. It was Teana. She looked like she was going to shoot someone, but her hands had been smashed off, and Cross Mirage was in the rubble of what remained of her hands, blinking rapidly.

“Cross Mirage...” Fate said as she picked up him, gently. She felt terrible over Teana's fate, but if she could find the one responsible, she might be back to normal, and then the hands could be put back in place. “...I've lost Bardiche. Can you help me against the intruder here?” She asked him gently.

“Yes.” The device responded to her and they took off, starting with the elevators.

Not working... Fate thought as she found both of them dead. Makes sense. It's to prevent fast spread of intruders should they get inside. It's an automatic lock overrun only by clearance codes carried by senior officers... Hayate must be here somewhere as well.

Fate went for the stairs, carefully. She checked them every time she went for them, to see if there was anyone there. Reaching the floor where Hayate's office were, she checked it for anyone unpetrified or alive at least. So far, after passing the infirmary, none. Stopping to check, she saw that Shamal and two healer apprentices were turned to stone as well.

When she reached Hayate's office, Fate didn't find anyone there. No one. It was empty in there. “Hayate.” She called softly out to try and get her friend's response. No one answered. So Hayate isn't here... Then I need to check on Nanoha and Vivio...

Fate didn't bother to check the stairs, she bolted for it. She was confident that the building was empty, or at least someone held a defensive position somewhere. Nanoha could hold their room on her own, whilst Vivio could either supply her with weapons or beat down anybody with her recently learned Strike Arts.

“Nanoha!” She called as she entered the room along with Cross Mirage. No one answered her. “Nanoha!” She called again, scanning the whole room for someone. “Nano-*Gasp*!” She stopped saying her name when she saw Vivio. It was just as she had feared. Vivio had also been turned to stone as well. “Vivio...” Fate felt like crying, seeing Vivio all frightened, and trying to defend herself. The only thing that hadn't been turned to stone, was her hair ribbon. That was the only thing not petrified.

“This is only a dream...” She told herself, reminding herself that this was nothing more than a nightmare for her. “Nanoha!” She called, going to the shower room. “Nanoha!” She called, seeing her beloved standing amidst the shower stalls, turned to stone as well. Even Raising Heart had been condemned to the same fate as the brunette.

“No... this is only a dream...” Fate repeated to herself. “This is only a dream...” She said again, seeing Nanoha being to crack and crumble down. “It's only a dream!” She screamed at herself as the brunette exploded into dust, her large lock being the only intact thing.

She watched on as the dust took the form of someone shorter than Nanoha, and grasped the stone lock. Oh shi- She managed to think before she was suddenly impaled by the dust figure taking on a more recognizable form.

“Good thinking, figuring that it was only a dream.” Averruncus said as he just left her there impaled on the wall. “But at the same time, it's not.”

“Some sort of dreamscape, then?” Fate asked this white haired mage without a device. She had dropped Cross Mirage on the floor when hit, and she couldn't reach him.

“In a sense.” Averruncus answered her. “It's a dreamscape which I designed some time ago to frankly, scare my opponents to submission. It takes place together with the fog at the last place the victim can recall whilst he was conscious.”

“You can use mental magic as well?” Fate asked him, trying to get loose. “I've never heard of someone being able to use several kinds of magic at once.”

“Well, those magi never had the kind of education that my kind of magi, honestly.” Averruncus answered her. “I simply must ask you to stay out of my way, Testarossa-san. I'm simply doing my business selling Lost Logia and snitching on my customers to get one thing.” He withdrew the stone lock from her, letting her down on the floor.

“What... would that be, Averruncus?” Fate asked him, clutching the wound to prevent blood from coming out. “What is it that you want?” Averruncus was simply stepping back into the shower stall, as the showers turned on them.

“I just want to get back home.” He answered her, before turning himself to water and disappearing down into the building's drainage.

Fate woke up shortly afterward, silently, no gasping at all. But she checked herself for any injuries, just to be sure. Then she checked on the other side of the bed. Nanoha and Vivio were sleeping together, the little girl holding her mother tightly and snuggling closely. Fate couldn't help but smile at this, before going back to sleep, not getting any more nightmares.

Hm...This is lots more complicated than it looks at first. When you get right down to it, Nanoha legitimately thought that Fate was making a pass at her and Nanoha's advances on the real Fate were something that she justly believed would be welcome.

So why is Nanoha feeling guilty? Not for making the offer... But perhaps because she didn't really accept what Fate told her the first time? (Clearly, she's still carrying the crush on Fate around with her, or she wouldn't have been so ready to pounce.) Or perhaps because she feels ashamed because she was willing to put her own happiness ahead of the bonds of marriage and fidelity (to say nothing of her own alternate self's happiness...or her alternate self's daughter's happiness!)? So while her apology was probably necessary, it's not going to smoothly resolve the problem, because the things that Nanoha did wrong, emotionally speaking, weren't things that she did wrong to Fate, and therefore Fate can't effectively forgive them.

It was one of her associates, an enforcer apprentice, one of the best. Then she saw another one, and this time it was someone recognized. It was Teana. She looked like she was going to shoot someone, but her hands had been smashed off, and Cross Mirage was in the rubble of what remained of her hands, blinking rapidly.

“Cross Mirage...” Fate said as she picked up him, gently. She felt terrible over Teana's fate, but if she could find the one responsible, she might be back to normal, and then the hands could be put back in place. “...I've lost Bardiche. Can you help me against the intruder here?” She asked him gently.

“Yes.” The device responded to her and they took off, starting with the elevators.

Not working... Fate thought as she found both of them dead. Makes sense. It's to prevent fast spread of intruders should they get inside. It's an automatic lock overrun only by clearance codes carried by senior officers... Hayate must be here somewhere as well.

Fate went for the stairs, carefully. She checked them every time she went for them, to see if there was anyone there. Reaching the floor where Hayate's office were, she checked it for anyone unpetrified or alive at least. So far, after passing the infirmary, none. Stopping to check, she saw that Shamal and two healer apprentices were turned to stone as well.

When she reached Hayate's office, Fate didn't find anyone there. No one. It was empty in there. “Hayate.” She called softly out to try and get her friend's response. No one answered. So Hayate isn't here... Then I need to check on Nanoha and Vivio...

Fate didn't bother to check the stairs, she bolted for it. She was confident that the building was empty, or at least someone held a defensive position somewhere. Nanoha could hold their room on her own, whilst Vivio could either supply her with weapons or beat down anybody with her recently learned Strike Arts.

“Nanoha!” She called as she entered the room along with Cross Mirage. No one answered her. “Nanoha!” She called again, scanning the whole room for someone. “Nano-*Gasp*!” She stopped saying her name when she saw Vivio. It was just as she had feared. Vivio had also been turned to stone as well. “Vivio...” Fate felt like crying, seeing Vivio all frightened, and trying to defend herself. The only thing that hadn't been turned to stone, was her hair ribbon. That was the only thing not petrified.

“This is only a dream...” She told herself, reminding herself that this was nothing more than a nightmare for her. “Nanoha!” She called, going to the shower room. “Nanoha!” She called, seeing her beloved standing amidst the shower stalls, turned to stone as well. Even Raising Heart had been condemned to the same fate as the brunette.

“No... this is only a dream...” Fate repeated to herself. “This is only a dream...” She said again, seeing Nanoha being to crack and crumble down. “It's only a dream!” She screamed at herself as the brunette exploded into dust, her large lock being the only intact thing.

She watched on as the dust took the form of someone shorter than Nanoha, and grasped the stone lock. Oh shi- She managed to think before she was suddenly impaled by the dust figure taking on a more recognizable form.

“Good thinking, figuring that it was only a dream.” Averruncus said as he just left her there impaled on the wall. “But at the same time, it's not.”

“Some sort of dreamscape, then?” Fate asked this white haired mage without a device. She had dropped Cross Mirage on the floor when hit, and she couldn't reach him.

“In a sense.” Averruncus answered her. “It's a dreamscape which I designed some time ago to frankly, scare my opponents to submission. It takes place together with the fog at the last place the victim can recall whilst he was conscious.”

“You can use mental magic as well?” Fate asked him, trying to get loose. “I've never heard of someone being able to use several kinds of magic at once.”

“Well, those magi never had the kind of education that my kind of magi, honestly.” Averruncus answered her. “I simply must ask you to stay out of my way, Testarossa-san. I'm simply doing my business selling Lost Logia and snitching on my customers to get one thing.” He withdrew the stone lock from her, letting her down on the floor.

“What... would that be, Averruncus?” Fate asked him, clutching the wound to prevent blood from coming out. “What is it that you want?” Averruncus was simply stepping back into the shower stall, as the showers turned on them.

“I just want to get back home.” He answered her, before turning himself to water and disappearing down into the building's drainage.

Fate woke up shortly afterward, silently, no gasping at all. But she checked herself for any injuries, just to be sure. Then she checked on the other side of the bed. Nanoha and Vivio were sleeping together, the little girl holding her mother tightly and snuggling closely. Fate couldn't help but smile at this, before going back to sleep, not getting any more nightmares.

I'm a little puzzled as to what the point of that whole piece was (unless it's the prologue to another chapter, if so then I apologize)...it's kind of, superficially, a "it was all a dream" story, and even so at the end Fate didn't really learn/change anything. So overall, the whole story kind of started, went somewhere, then returned to where it started??

Other than that, I liked the first two paragraphs...they really set the mood for the story, kind of creepy, like the beginnings of a horror movie/nightmare. Well done.

When the morning light woke me from my restless sleep, I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling above me. I heard soft snoring sounds coming from downstairs and last night's events lingered on my mind even more than before. I had made a huge mistake, and I felt as if I was going to throw up just thinking about it. After taking a deep breath, I rubbed my sore eyes to remove the remains of dried tears. I took a moment to steady myself and forced my body to move before I changed my mind. After claiming my wheelchair, I went downstairs to Fate and gently shook her shoulder.

"Wake up," Nanoha's soft voice requested to her sleeping friend. "Fate-chan?" Red eyes slowly opened and she gave a weak smile for them. "You need to meet with Yuuno-kun, remember?" Fate blinked a few times and then nodded while pulling herself up to sit properly. "Hey... Fate-chan?" The blond looked down at the girl next to her and Nanoha felt her stomach turn in knots. "For what its worth... I'm sorry for what I did."

"...Yeah." Fate rubbed her eyes and the bridge of her nose. "Its okay, Alicia-"

"No," Nanoha shook her head. "Regardless, I let my feelings win over rational thinking. I used what she said as an excuse to lie to myself to make it seem okay... I shouldn't have. I'm sorry."

The honest tone in her friend's voice made Fate soften. "Apology accepted. Thank you for understanding... I know I don't have to but I'd feel a lot better saying this..." The girl let Nanoha nod before continuing. "I love my wife, and my family. I know you are her in a different world and all but... I'm faithful to her, and I know she will understand what happened. On my wife's behalf, I want to say that she would forgive you as well."

"...Thank you." Nanoha hung her head for a moment before nodding. "I know apologizing won't make it right, but I hope we can still be friends while you're here."

"Yes," Fate reached out and took Nanoha's hand. "Of course."

Feeling the awkward sensation course through her, Nanoha took her hand back and placed it on the red orb to control her chair. "Well, I'll go get dressed. You need to contact your sister and Yuuno-kun, 'kay?"

"Mmn," Fate nodded yet again and watched the girl move away from her. Once clear from sight, Fate let out a soft sigh, rubbing her temples. 'The next few days are going to be really awkward...'

*one week later...*

"Alright this is a full blown match. You can use practically all your abilities in this battle. " Nove looked at the two combatants who were once again about to battle. "Only Nanoha-san and I are allowed to be in the area. Everyone else will wait observe from outside of the barrier."

"That's fine with me" Einhart nodded "I believe it is time for me to face the full powers of the Sankt Kaiser" she looked at Vivio with determination "Prepare yourself" she got into stance.

"I'm ready" Vivio responded as she too prepared her stance

"Raising Heart" Nanoha called from above them all "Activate barrier"

"Barrier activated"

"Begin!" Nove called as she jumped out of the way.

White smoke rose up into the sky as the two combatants charged each other. Even to the trained eyes of the observers these two were moving like missiles.

"Twilight shooter!" Vivio called out as she created orbs similar to Nanoha's very own axel shooter. They lock on to Einhart and begin to swarm at her.

Einhart on the other hand continues to advance despite the minor annoyance. She knows that Vivio has only recently learned this technique so she wont be able to guide them with great precision. However, as long as she keeps dodging she wont be able to attack her target, who is dancing around her trying to find any slip ups in the dodging. She concentrates on looking for holes in Vivio's attack patterns more than dodging the actual orbs.

"Shes incredible" Vivio thought "shes much better than I give her credit for. Even though her attention is divided, there are still no holes in defenses. In that case-" she orders the bullets to attack from all 4 directions.

Einhart sidesteps the first, ducks under the second, and jumps over the third. "Finally! An opening!" her mind screamed as she jumped towards Vivio, drawing her fist back to land a strike towards the blond's open chest. "...!" her instincts give warning, however, and she canceled her attack and looked above Vivio's head where another orb was bearing down right on her. She crosses her wrists in defense as the energy orb breaks on her causing temporary blindness. "I have to be careful...or she might use that trick on me again"

Vivio used that chance and landed a kick square on Einhart's chest, knocking her back several meters and giving her plenty of space to continue firing energy orbs.

"You taught her well" Nove couldn't help but commenting to Nanoha

"Shes taken after Vita-chan." Nanoha responded "apparently Vita-chan has been teaching her how to be a frontal attacker with some mid range abilities so that she wouldn't be completely limited to close range combat."

"So that's why she was always so tired whenever she came to practice with me recently."

Slowly but surely Vivio pushed Einhart towards the edge of the barrier, cornering the girl. "You have nowhere left to run"

"Keh!" Einhart clenched her teeth.

Vivio gathers all the orbs together into a single shot and fires it. Einhart just stood there and lowered her head.

"I thought I would get a more interesting fight than this..."

"Huh?" Vivio's eyes widened

The next moment Einhart's figure was flying through the air charging towards her target.

"Is she crazy?!" Nove gasped "There is no way she can dodge now!"

". . . ." Nanoha watched silently with a small smile on her face.

A heavy explosion followed by a bright flash that illuminated the battlefield. Vivio shielded her eyes and looked on as the light dispersed. When there was no sign of her opponent, she began to frantically look around before turning her gaze upwards to the sky.

"She created a barrier at the last moment" Nanoha explained "then used the explosion to slingshot her into the air. A very clever trick for a child."

"What the-?" Vivio looked surprised, so much so that she cant evade Einhart's attack.

"Now!" Einhart passes judgment as the distance closes to less than a meter. "Guh!" The two combatants collide, but for some reason its Einhart's voice that's in pain. She fell to the ground with a dull thud and rolled away quickly to recover. "What the heck was that?" she couldn't help but asking as she looked over.

"Too bad, and you were so close too" Vivio stated "had you been a little bit taller your fist would have probably hit me before my kick landed."

"Clever move" Nove pointed out "since Vivio couldn't dodge, she countered the oncoming fist instead by kicking upwards and used Einhart's momentum and the pull of gravity in order to add more power into the counter. Very well done Vivio."

Vivio continued her attack aiming for her target's joints, body, and head. Einhart was forced to defend while she tried to catch her breath. The blond summoned forth a few more twilight shooters and sent them towards the recovering girl. Einhart leaped into the air to avoid them, but only to be met with a strike to her stomach, her side, and her face. There was no recovery for the girl as Vivio relentlessly continued to attack the other's body, finally knocking her to the ground.

"Now for the finish" Vivio seized the moment and leaped into the air to swoop down on the defenseless girl below.

Einhart tried to stand but ended up falling to her knee. She cant avoid the attack so she set herself up to take it head on. Her eyes never left Vivio's as they continued to close the distance. A small grin formed on her face

"...!" Vivio realized this and raised her guard while trying to change her direction. She called forth an orb to take her place as she tried to evade.

Another explosion took place right in front of Einhart kicking up dust into the air. When the smoke cleared the figure of a girl with her arm extended could be seen.

"So...that was your real power all along" Vivio regained her stance "I was wondering why you were holding back on me when you yourself said you wanted an all out match."

"Even in that situation you managed to avoid it" she smiled "not bad, not bad at all..." she praised her opponent.

"What just happened?!" a monitor opened next to Nanoha and Nove "did she just?" Fate continued

"Yes" Nove answered "she punched it. Einhart managed to blow away the orb, the explosion, and everything with that strike."

"That would have been very bad for Vivio had it landed" Nanoha stated "It would have been easily the end of the match."

"It would seem that in close range battle, Einhart is superior. The only problem is she lacks the mobility to make her hits land and that's where Vivio's strength is." Nove continued

"That's right" Nanoha added "Due to all the training shes been given by the former Lightning Squad, her mobility is superior. All Einhart can do is counter the attacks like she did just now."

"That is going to be troublesome" Fate said through the communicator "If Einhart doesn't know any ranged abilities, then all Vivio has to do is wear her down and finish her off because it would be next to suicide to get too close."

Vivio continued to rain down attacks in between the attacks of her own. Einhart was once again forced into the defensive dodging orbs and blocking Vivio's strikes. To the observers it would seem as if it was only a matter of time, and that the victor was already determined. However to the two combatants, the fight was far from over...

"None of my attacks are connecting!" Vivio's mind raced as it continued to look for openings in the iron-wall defense "There has to be something I am missing, wearing her down like this would only lead to a stalemate." She continued to analyze "I didn't want to use this since it might be considered unfair, however if she wants an all out battle then it would be rude for me to keep this from her." She crouched down and swept Einhart's feet from under and entangled the girl in binds.

"Eh?!" Einhart's eyes opened wide as she found her mobility suddenly cut off.

"I'm sorry" Vivio stated 'but its over" she drew her fist back and charged her magical energy "Excellion!" she charged towards the bound girl and dug her fist into Einhart's stomach "BUSTER!"

Once again the stage was engulfed in smoke as Vivio's buster met its target. The battle was over and everyone knew it. When the smoke cleared, Einhart's figure laid on the ground like an old rag. The observers stared on in shocked silence before Vivio's breathing interrupted the serenity.

"Its over!" Nove raised her hand "The winner is-"

"She's getting back up" Nanoha interrupted

"What?!" Nove looked back

"Geh....ughhhhh...hack" Einhart's voice came through as she staggered back to her feet.

"No way..." Vivio stared at her "That's impossible!"

Slowly and unsteadily, like a new born child standing up for the first time in its life, Higemon Ingvalt--known to them all as Einhart Stratos raised herself upright once again. Her body was cut and bleeding in several places but no one really knew the extent of her injuries at this point. Just standing up was making her use up a lot of her energy, but she was standing and she glared at Vivio with the same determination that she had in the beginning.

"I cant believe she is still able to stand" Fate commented

"Her tenacity is pretty impressive" Nove couldn't help but smirking.

Nanoha continued to watch in silence at the marvelous display of determination.

"Einhart Stratos" Vivio called out "this is enough! Will you not yield?! This isn't a battle anymore! You are badly injured as it is!"

"I'll never...surrender..." she said as she tried to maintain her balance "not until...the emperor's memory...is satisfied."

"Then I will knock you out and defeat you. Hopefully to bring peace to that feeling once and for all."

The blond began to charge and launched another combination of strikes towards the girl's temple hoping to knock her out before any more damage was sustained. She went in for a final strike to end the battle completely...or so she thought.

"Heh...you still don't understand" Enhart ginned despite her situation. She kept her body very close to Vivio's and began to strike at all the openings.

"Kuh!" Vivio bit back as her body started to register the pain from the attacks. She tried to counter but found that her motions were too wide at such a close distance.

Einhart continued to strike at the other's knees, elbows, and other joints in order to slow down not only Vivio's speed but also her mobility. One final attack landed on Vivio's chest and sent the blond flying back several feet.

"Uggggghhhh!" Vivio recovered quickly and got back up into a defensive stance.

"Since you have shown me your greatest technique it is only fitting I finish you off with mine."

"Huh?"

"Emperor's...Chains of heaven" Einhart called out as a magic circle formed in a 10 meter radius under her feet.

"...!" Vivio gasped as all of a sudden as she was restrained by several binds. To make matters worse for her, it seemed as if the magic circle itself was the source of the binds "W-what is this?" she struggled

"Wow I never knew Einhart had that kind of technique!" Nove breathed

"She is doing the right thing" Nanoha nodded "If she cant fight Vivio because of her mobility, all she has to do is take away the enemy's mobility"

". . . . ." Einhart closed her eyes and focused her power

"Urgggggh... hrrrrnnggggg!" Vivio groaned as she relentlessly tried to break the binds

Slowly, Einhart moved her feet apart and crouched despite the blood flowing from several wounds. She set herself up to deliver the blow

"My mobility is nowhere near yours, and even though I may be as skilled as you, I do not have a wide variety of attacks like you do. As a matter of fact, I have but one superior offensive technique."

She drew her body back and tensed like a bow on the verge of breaking. In that instant, the air around Einhart began to energize and the ground beneath her began to crack under the force of her power. She was putting so much energy into her attack that even the observers across the barrier could feel its power.

"Oi! that's dangerous!" Nove called out "We have to stop her!"

"No" Nanoha responded "this is their battle. They must end it."

"Vivio is going to die!"

"Dont worry...Vivio is as stubborn as I am. She told me last night that she wants to settle this match for good. She wants to show Einhart that she isn't just taking these battles for granted. She will fight either till she wins, or shes shown her determination. That is why I wont stop the match."

"Nanoha-san..."

Einhart knew she had enough power for one strike and that she knew she needed mobility to make it hit, but since she couldn't match Vivio...so she devised another way and this was her way to do it. She had insured that the blow would hit...and at this range it might even be fatal.

"I am sure you don't remember this" she spoke to the stunned Vivio "the former Emperor didn't show you this technique, but I hope you never forget this."

Vivio threw aside all thought of struggling free and concentrated her power in creating a barrier in front of her. She knew quite well just how deadly this strike was going to be despite it being her first time seeing it. Her gather of magical energy was fast and powerful, however it paled in comparison to the even greater magical energy gathering at her opponents fist.

"Emperor's....DIVINE JUDGMENT STRIKE!"

The entire area was swallowed by a torrent of light. Everything was engulfed in a raging gale of power, the only thing standing between it and Vivio was the barrier that was created. Even though it seemed that it would hold the incredible power...the barrier's energy lasted for merely a moment. A unidentified shape was forcefully ejected from inside the circle, it looked like a person and slammed forcefully onto the side of the barrier.

After a few more moments, the large wave of energy subsided and everyone watched in silence. Einhart slowly lowered her stance and quietly dropped to her knee, as if scared to break the silence with her heavy breathing.

"Its...over" Fate said through the communicator, finally breaking the serenity

"No, not yet" Nanoha responded without looking at Fate.

Vivio's body began to move, slowly but surely she regained her strength. With trembling limbs, she managed to stand, her breathing ragged and unstable.

"I wont...lose.." Vivio muttered.

". . . . ." Einhart stood up and looked on

"I said...I would help you ease...that memory..." she continued

"Thank you..." That message was written all over Einhart's face as she momentarily smiled at Vivio.

Vivio slowly took one step after another towards Einhart. Slowly staggering towards her opponent to finish the battle. She charged the remainder of her magical energy as if to give it one last go. Her body began to glow as the magical aura took form. It was shaky and weak...almost as if if was going to snuffed out the moment you breathed on it.

Einhart attained her stance once again while slowly closing her eyes. For the second time, the incredible energy formed around her as the magic circle remade itself beneath them. This time, however, the binds didn't rise to restrain Vivio.

"Rhaaaaaaaa!" Vivio's knees begin to buckle, but she forced them to straighten as she drew closer and closer towards her goal. Her magical energy trying to shield its master from the incredible pressure, almost as if using Vivio's own life force to protect her. "Please...just once more..." she urged her body "Move...!" she took another step "I have a promise to keep...and I cant quit until I've fulfilled it!" Her body called forth one last spurt of energy as she charged almost at full speed "Behold, Higemon Ingvalt!" she roared "My determination as the Sankt Kaiser!" she launched her attack with the last of her strength...

Einhart held her position steady

". . . . ."

While Vivio looked like shes betting her very life on this, Einhart remained calm...almost content. She held no contempt towards her oncoming enemy and faced Vivio's final gambit with the very honor it deserved. The time for words was over...all that was left now is to lower the curtain on this battle forever.

"Emperor's..." she whispered, lowering her head as a small tear fell from her eyes "divine judgment strike..."

They collided once again, then parted...for the last time.

"I have clearly seen your feelings..." Einhart broke the silence after a few moments "had you held back just a little bit before our blows connected and then charged it to full..." she lowered her stance "then maybe the result would have been the opposite."

Vivio's figure gently falls forward and hit the ground. After a few more moments, Einhart followed.

"The match is over!" Nove declared "Winner...Einhart Stratos."

She and Nanoha rush over to the two girls to check on their injuries before picking them up. Einhart opens her eyes and looked over at Vivio

"Thank you...Takamachi, Vivio..." she whispered before her eyes closed once again and enveloped her in darkness...

Hmm maybe that was too much I guess...
