Looking at the clock, Shamal let out a small sigh as she looked at her patient. "Well, Kyrie, I think that you've come a long way." The younger girl blinked at Shamal, before smiling happily. "In fact, we can start scaling back these sessions if you want." Shamal blinked as Kyrie's mood suddenly evaporated. "Is something the matter?"

"I guess you want to get rid of me too, huh?" Shamal blinked at that. "I thought..."

"Kyrie," Shamal interrupted before the girl could get depressed, "I'm not tossing you aside, if that's what you're worried about. I thought you'd be happy to know that I think you're becoming more adjusted and could probably live without having to have me look over your shoulder all the time."

"I still get nightmares and sometimes..." Kyrie blinked as Shamal put a hand on her shoulder. Looking at the doctor, she wondered why Shamal was smiling at her.

"Kyrie, nightmares are normal. You've only been here for about four years. I've known people who suffered far less than you have and still have nightmares over it for many years." Though from what she heard from Nanoha, those nightmares were very rare these days, only happening if she was either really stressed out or really worried about something. "I'm just saying, Kyrie, is that you don't need to have as many sessions with me. We meet four times a week as it is, wouldn't you like to be able to have more time to yourself?"

Kyrie looked down at the floor, uncertainty in her eyes. "But I like spending time with you. I don't mind talking with you for three or four hours a day. It's better than what I used to get."

Shamal sighed softly, she wasn't quite sure if Kyrie was backsliding or just really nervous. "Alright, Kyrie, if you feel that strongly about it, then I won't push the issue. I just want you to be able to live without being forced into anything." Kyrie nodded while still looking down and Shamal gave her shoulder a squeeze. "So, Kyrie, our time's up, how does tomorrow sound?"

Kyrie looked at her and blinked in confusion. "Huh? Oh, sure. Say, Shamal..." She trailed off and Shamal raised an eyebrow, wondering what was on the girl's mind. "Would you mind meeting up with me later?"

"Well, I don't know..." Shamal trailed off and sighed at the hopeful look in Kyrie's eyes. "Alright, where do you want to meet up?"

"Well, there's this really nice diner and..." Kyrie trailed off as Shamal held up a hand.

"Kyrie, if you're asking me out on a date, I'm going to have to refuse." Shamal shook her head in disappointment. "I've told you before. You're very lovely and I'm flattered that you think that I'm beautiful, but you're my patient, I can't date you."

Kyrie shook her head. "No, no! Not that kind of date! I just want to have a meal with you. Your cooking is really good, but I, ah..." Kyrie's eyes went white as she tried to stammer out an excuse. "Please? I won't do anything like kiss you."

"Oddly specific." Shamal thought about it and sighed as she saw Kyrie's hopeful look. "Five thirty tonight, okay?" Kyrie's eyes widened and she launched herself out of the chair to hug Shamal tightly. "Yes, yes... You're welcome."

Kyrie smiled as she rested her head on Shamal's chest while hugging her tightly. "Thank you, thank you, thank you."

Shamal found it hard to fault the girl's happiness and just smiled at her while rubbing her back. "Just mention the place, Kyrie." The girl nodded and Shamal could have sworn Kyrie was almost crying softly.

Oh well, overwhelming happiness had this effect on people sometimes.

As she walked out of the building a few minutes later, Kyrie pulled out a small device and pushed a button, her eyes sparkling as she saw Amitie on the screen in front of her. "She said yes."

Amitie actually smiled back. Sure, she was hot-headed at times, but of the two, Kyrie was more prone to smiling than Amitie was. "Good, so, it's all set up then?"

"Five thirty at that diner we found last week."

"Good." Amitie nodded to her. "Alright, let's make this work."

"Yeah!" Kyrie pumped her fist into the air while jumping in happiness.

"Nanoha..." Miyuki trailed off as she looked at her sister. "Listen, what are we going to do about this?" She pointed to something that was burning slowly in the middle of the kitchen and Nanoha sighed, shaking her head.

"Honestly, I'm not sure. How did this happen?"

"I think I might have put in a bit too much Brandy into it." Miyuki shook her head. "Sorry." Nanoha just shrugged at her and poked the smoking pile with a broom, wincing as it suddenly flared up.

"Don't worry about it. We both know you're almost helpless with anything that's not baking." Nanoha giggled as Miyuki narrowed her eyes. "Oh come on, it's not too bad. You were trying a new recipie out. Do you have any idea how many times something like this has happened around here."

"You once destroyed the kitchen, Mistress Fate accidentally blew a wall out, Master Yuuno covered everything in chocolate sauce that somehow caused the paint to peel and Vivio covered the floor in flour, which she then poured water on to make flour snow balls."

Nanoha twitched as she listened to that. "Thank you, Raising Heart, that will be all."

"Of course, my master."

Miyuki put a hand over her mouth to fight off the urge to laugh. "Chocolate sauce, really?"

"It was that weekend you were helping mom out at the shop." Nanoha shook her head. "Well, at least we got a new paintjob out of it." Nanoha could easily put the fire out if she had used her magic, but then Fate and Yuuno would get mad when they found out, and Nanoha really didn't want to be on their bad side over this.

After all, it sucked when they made her sleep in one of the spare bedrooms by herself for a few days.

Well, that and she didn't want to have to replace any damages to the walls that might happen if she put too much power into her magic spells.

"Hey!" Yuuno called out from the entry way, "I'm back and..." He trailed off as he saw the mess in the middle of the kitchen and looked around. "Seems rather small, what happened this time?"

"New recipie." Nanoha clarified, getting a nod from Yuuno in understanding.

"Makes sense. At least it's not all over the walls this time." Yuuno shook his head. "So, this is what? The third time something like this has happened here?"

Nanoha thought about it and nodded. "Probably." She grinned as she poked the burned pile again. "Well, at least it's not burning anymore."

Miyuki took the broom from her sister and sighed. "You're taking this way too well. And I think you made that up about destroying the kitchen."

Nanoha scratched the back of her head and giggled nervously. She didn't want to explain that her accident had been because she had been watching Fate and Yuuno play with Vivio, Erio and Caro in the yard one day. It just wasn't fair! Fate and Yuuno were way too sexy in swimsuits for their own good.

Distraction was never a good thing when one was cooking after all.

As Miyuki walked out to throw the burned food into the garbage cans outside, Yuuno looked at Nanoha, who sighed softly. "Think we should do something for her later?"

Thinking for a few moments, Nanoha smiled. "How about we take her out to that amusement park?" She held up a hand before Yuuno could speak. "And I was thinking, just the three of us should go tonight."

"Fate will get mad." Yuuno said, but internally he was finding himself getting anxious about this.

Nanoha put a finger on his lips and smiled at him. "Let me worry about Fate, okay? I just think that Miyuki should have some fun tonight, and maybe the two of us should make sure she has some, okay?" Her smile turned into a grin when he nodded. "Excellent. I'll go give Fate a call and explain then." She quickly left the kitchen, followed by Raising Heart.

"Well boss, maybe there should be a mess in the kitchen more often."

"Shut up, Thoth."

"You want to do what? And without me?" Fate asked Nanoha as she looked at the communication window. "Nanoha..."

"Listen, Fate..." Nanoha clasped her hands in front of her and gave Fate a pleading look. "Miyuki was feeling really bad about screwing up in the kitchen, so Yuuno and I want to help her out."

"Were the pipes corroded again?" Fate asked, remembering just why Vivio got water all over the flour that day.

Nanoha shook her head. "No, she just poured too much Brandy into something she was cooking, to give it the taste of the stuff, you know?" Fate nodded, that was how cooking with alcohol generally worked, boil off the alcohol and then pour the liquid into the food. "Well, she used too much and tried to overcompensate and turned the heat up too high."

"Oh." Fate felt bad for getting upset. "And then the food she was cooking was neglected, right?" Nanoha nodded and Fate chuckled softly. "Well, at least she didn't accidentally destroy part of the wall."

"Yeah..." Nanoha narrowed her eyes. "Just how did you do that?"

"I'd rather not say." Besides, it was embarrassing. Accidentally destroying a wall because she had been so lost in thought that she over-reacted when she got startled. At least that happened when they were still living on Earth, even if it had been hard to explain to the neighbors. "And it was just a little mess, right?" Nanoha nodded and Fate laughed softly. "Well, at least it wasn't all over her skin."

"Like Yuuno's chocolate was?" Nanoha leered and Fate blushed. At least the idea of food on a person didn't seem so bad after that.

"I'll be home in a few hours then." Fate nodded to Nanoha, who smiled as the screen turned off. "Bardiche..."

"Yes sir."

"Can you schedule me to have this weekend off?"

"Done three weeks ago, sir."

Fate smiled softly at that. "Thank you." She was glad, after all, this weekend was the day that Precia had passed on from the world and Fate wanted to visit her grave again.

Other than Nanoha's destroying the kitchen (exaggeration) and Fate's blowing out a wall (also exaggeration), I've worked in the food service for over 10 years now, and I've seen PLENTY of ways to destroy a kitchen.

Including it getting set on fire due to the grill not being cleaned, or someone boiling off alcohol and someone stupidly knocks the frying pan off of the stove. As for what happened with Miyuki? Well, stop paying attention to stuff and it burns, that's all it was.

What is he going to drive, when no electronic technology works within the mission zone?

You can't take a ship like the Arthra into the field without killing it. The only easy way in or out would be teleportation.

Remember, magic works just fine in the field, so the Arthra can teleport them out if they can't do it themselves. And all members are capable of personal teleportation or working with a ship's assistance to warp out.

Shamal has no need to be in the field, and can stay behind on the Arthra as a medic.

... What I mean is Chrono use the Athra to take them the closest to the mission zone as he can so that the 3 can conserve their energies and then park there, while Shamal monitor their status and scan the zone from the outside.

‘Ah, there it is.’ A glance up showed the Fate replica hanging on to the back of a red Dragon near the end of the pack as it thrashed about in the air.

‘Indeed.’ Based on her recollection of the intelligence that had been gathered years ago when she had still been working for her father, there was only one person she knew who would be capable of such a feat. ‘I never would have expected for her power to grow this much in a short time period.’

What are you talking about?

The Combat Cyborg proceeded to explain. ‘There is a Dragon Summoner that works for the Time Space Administration Bureau. If she is responsible for summoning and controlling these Dragons to attack the others, then they can be in great danger.’

Summoning all those Dragons, I can buy. Controlling all those Dragons at once? That is doubtful unless she is some sort of high level Planeswalker.

‘No, she is a regular human. And how is it you’re so certain of your conclusion that she cannot control all of them?’

Dragons are known for their power, their greed, their vanity and possessing an untameable spirit. It doesn’t matter if the Summoner is some ‘Friend to All Living Things’ as Dragons only follow the fire in their hearts. In order to even have a chance at having one Dragon as a loyal follower, a human would have to essentially raise them from the moment they are born.

‘So they will run amok and destroy anything in their path?’

A likely scenario.

Something wasn’t adding up though which bothered Sette. ‘But that is not what I am seeing. They are all heading in the same direction and seem to be tolerating each other’s presence.’

Her device paused for a moment before giving a theory. If that’s the case, then it’s likely that the Summoner managed to influence their thinking & instincts to a degree. That is much easier to accomplish than simply controlling them. Just plant a simple thought in their heads and let them do the work.

‘A simple thought… like destroying a common enemy?’

Precisely. By the way, I would suggest not hanging out in the open like that where they can easily see you. Otherwise, they will see you as an intruder in their territory.

It was at that moment that the surroundings around her seemed to be swallowed up by a shadow. Her eyes darted up for a quick moment before she gave a small resigned sigh at this latest bit of trouble. ‘A little too late for that, I’m afraid.’

Normally, it would take good planning and a skilled team of Belkan knights to take down a standard Dragon. Elder Dragons and Hellkites were on a different level entirely as they could withstand a lot of damage, were resistant to status ailments and not to mention how much damage they could deal with their own attacks. Yes, Material-D really would have loved to have several full battalions of soldiers at her disposal but for the moment, she had Material-S and the recently returned Material-L as her only combat units.

Under regular circumstances, their combat contribution would certainly surpass any number of standard Belkan Knight Battalions but the Starlight Destroyer’s effectiveness was reduced thanks to having no access to cartridges. And as for the Lightning Assailant…

“You know, we could really use the Dragon Spooker about now.”

She was blabbering on her usual nonsense and was hardly even paying attention to her surroundings. Honestly, if Yami had a penny every time Rai got lost in her own little world, she would have been able to finance a well-equipped army by now. Sure, Material-L did take out one big red Dragon earlier but that was due to her throwing a tantrum on it and crying stuff about how the beast is not going ‘Megatron: Terrorize’.

At the moment, Material-D had thrown up a concealment spell to keep the dragons from finding them easily. She would have used the time to try and come up with a battle plan but a certain blue haired moron kept disrupting the train of thought. “Seriously, just stick her out there and watch all those Dragons make a 180 and fly away with their tails between their legs!”

“Who are you referring to?” asked Material-S in her usual deadpan tone.

“The Bandit Killer! The Enemy of All Who Live! I can’t believe you don’t recognize who I’m talking about!”

Yami fought the urge to smack the blue haired nut. “That’s because we happen to be firmly grounded in reality. Now start helping us!”

Material-L tilted her head slightly. “You seem a bit more angry than usual. Is it because you had to say something silly like ‘Lyrical Magical’ in one of those commercials? Or is it because the update schedule went from once a week to once in a blue moon?”

“I don’t have time to put up with this,” growled the Lord of Darkness. “We are already in a bit of a tight situation.”

“But I kicked Megatron’s tail a few minutes ago!” whined the Fate replica.

“That is true but the facts are that we are outnumbered, we certainly do not have the stamina to fight in a long drawn out confrontation and that the further this drags on, the more difficult it will be to recover Yuuno-san,” stated Seikou. “With that in mind, what do you propose we do?”

“Go crazy, Broadway Style?”

“You’re already crazy so there’s no point for you,” grumbled Material-D.

“Nice and witty response! As expected from Her Majesty!” exclaimed Rai complete with a thumb’s up.

“GAH!”

“So does anyone have a better solution aside from using overwhelming firepower?” asked Material-S in an effort to steer the conversation back to their current problem.

“Hm… I recall that there is a spell in my book which has an effect of working like a virus,” replied Yami, who quickly shrugged off her earlier frustration.

“Is there something specific against Dragons?”

“It can work against any type of species and kill them within moments. However, I need to get my hands on a Dragon to serve as the initial infected. Then the virus can mutate and attack any living organism which has a genetic structure that highly matches the first carrier.”

Just as Yami finished her speech, a large object slammed on the ground near them. When the smoke cleared, they could see a certain pink haired woman on top of a stunned Dragon who looked thrice the size of a standard hatchling. She noticed the trio and gave a small wave.

“Forgive my intrusion,” said the Combat Cyborg.

“And right on cue, Sette-chan drops in with the goods!”

Material-S quickly saw that the incident had definitely drawn the attention of the other Dragons. “She also happened to shatter our efforts to remain concealed.”

“This I can work with. Material-L, go with Material-S and defend our perimeter. Let no Dragon get past!” The Hayate replica turned sharply to focus on Sette. “And as for you, I shall require your assistance to ensure this creature remains subdued.”

I'm surprised that this finally got an update. So, what are the chances that Material Days, Materials no Jikan, Side Dish/ of Destiny or Rise of the Daemon Kaiser will get an update?

Other than Nanoha's destroying the kitchen (exaggeration) and Fate's blowing out a wall (also exaggeration), I've worked in the food service for over 10 years now, and I've seen PLENTY of ways to destroy a kitchen.

Including it getting set on fire due to the grill not being cleaned, or someone boiling off alcohol and someone stupidly knocks the frying pan off of the stove. As for what happened with Miyuki? Well, stop paying attention to stuff and it burns, that's all it was.

I have this fanfic idea bouncing around in my head. You know of the phenomena of a Wild Child? Well, one could argue that Fate Testarossa was literally raised by a cat (Linith).

I was wondering though, how it would be like, if say, a child in the Nanoha-verse lost one of his or her parents, and the surviving Widow/Widower sunk into a certain degree of depression when the child was somewhere in between infancy and toddlerhood (think 2 years old.) And as a consequence, the job of raising the child was outsourced to the Mage's Familiar.

Bonus if it's a wolf Familiar. Imagine being literally raised by a Sentient wolf in a humanoid form.
