Didn't see a thread so I thought I'd start one up considering it's being released today.

I was kinda disappointed hearing it's only six hours long, but with Portal and Team Fortress 2, I doubt there will be much free time anyways. Also probably the best deal in years.

The ending of Portal could possibly be the funniest and most enjoyable ending in the history of my life to ANYTHING.

I kinda wish they would have had the Black box and Orange box, would have made it soo much easier for the rest of us...

TF2 is just another name for "Frag'em'Up Again 2!", so no thanks. Besides, I already bought Quake Wars, which seems to be somewhat fun. I usually lose 1v1 in direct fight, but backstabbing and sniping seem to go well. Taking a tank as a engineer also works.

Would like to see ep1 and ep2, though, but I prefer to just download them without the activation hassle.

TF2 is not just another "frag em up", it's totally awesome.

Quake Wars doesn't really seem fun either.

How is it awesome, exactly? I know that Quake Wars is fun because it gives some real possibilities for teamwork, alternative gameplay methods, has a nice background story (especially if you have played Quake 4), and in general feels like a solid product. It has its faults, true, but so far so good.

Personally, I like the time I've spent in TF2 with my fellow WoW guildmates (after we're done raiding and just want to relax with some games of TF2). Portal has been a blast (despite being short) but unfortunately...the cake was a like nuuuuuuu. T_T

I've never touched Quake Wars but I do not doubt it to be a fun and exciting game (seen my cousins playing it, looked pretty intense).

In all, all that's left to say is "one man's meat is another man's poison".

I want it, but I played Half Life 2 a long time ago, and don't really feel like re-buying it. It's a good deal for those who haven't played it, and though I want it for 360 (TF2 online FTW) I'll probably just end up buying Episode 2 individually for the PC.

Actually, the black box was canned. Only way to get the black box is by buying a ATI radeon 2xxx series GFX card.

It may be shorter than the original, but it's a burly experience packed into roughly six hours or so that offers up all the diversity, level design, and thoughtful gameplay we've known while making sure to propel the story forward and leave us wanting more. We definitely think you should pick up Orange Box for Portal (or HL2 and Episode One if you haven't played them) but if you like the series, you need to play this one. This is the addition Half-Life 2 fans have been waiting for. Here's to hoping Valve can keep up the pace and give us Episode Three in the next couple of years. Spoiler for Episode 2: I really did enjoy Episode 2, but I was hopeful that maybe there would be more running around randomly trying to get to White Forest, which turned out to be a LOT of Striders with non-agressive AI.(For the most part) and roadkill(Hunters). But I think Episode 2 really was a great episode, and I am excited to see more in Episode 3 with the addition of more Aperture Science + Half-Life 2 stuff. I didn't play Portal through until after I beat Episode 2, and I was convinced it was on the Borealis. It wasn't. ;_;. But the Borealis has Aperture Science written all over it, and I'm excited to see why. As far as Episode 2 goes it was fun, but I was hoping for more forest-based action outside of the car. (Also... I was only really impressed by Advisors the first time around when you release the one.) __________________
