Kyonko and Itsuko might or might not be buddying up, but Kyon and Itsuki are definitely locked in an age old primal conflict.

Also, the size of personal space boundaries are not universal. I believe it is remarkably closer for young Japanese girls than it is for guys; closer than it is for girls in the west as well. Don't take my word for it, watch some J-dorama. I think that for Kyonko to feel threatened by a mere violation of her personal space, Itsuko will have to be practically kissing her. Especially since Itsuko has already managed to undress her once.

That might've been the case 1000 years ago, but I think the amount of dickwaving and gender-role expectations have toned down a bit. Besides, Kyonko is a bit tomboyish in her level of snark and sarcasm.

And when you mention J-drama, therein lies my problem with your "personal space" statements. You have no actual real-life proof concerning how liberal the Japanese people are with personal space. Until you do, I'm going to assume that while their principles on personal space are not exactly the same as Westerner's are, they won't be groping each other up in the baths or dry-humping each other in conversation.

Besides, don't forget that Kyonko does NOT like Itsuko. And that is a fact that remains almost constant throughout the series. That alone should justify the whole "stay away from my face."

I'm not really sure myself, but it definitely had some FLCL references.

What, using a guitar as a weapon is a FLCL reference now?

And where the hell is that comic from?

...Was Atomsk actually in control of Naota at that time? Or was it just Naota using his power to beat Haruko with?

Because if it's the latter, no pirate ever used a guitar in FLCL.

...When Naota beat Haruko, yes, he was just using Atomsk's power (which included using Atomsk's guitar alongside his own). However, prior to that, while still inside the TV-Robot (I forget what Mamiru(sp?) named it), which I believe to be a manifestation of Atomsk, Naota controlled Atomsk himself (or at least fought with him).

...Really, FLCL was one big mindscrew the whole way through. In a good way, though.

*shrug* Nevermind then. I didn't really wanna buy a microphone in the first place. Plus, wouldn't it be kind of bad if we sounded completely different?

Mamimi. And she named him Conti/Canti/Konti/Kanti. I forget what spelling it was, but I know it sounds like one of those damned things.

No problem.

Ladies and gents, Kyonkoism has spread as far as the big-name fandubbers now (look at her background graphic). Rejoice.

...A more-on-topic post:

Has Jun Fukuyama been mentioned as a possible voice actor for Haruki?

*This thought was inspired both by a Code Geass-type picture of Haruki I remember seeing and by the fact that I realized Lelouch is voiced by the same VA as Kei Takishima (the reasoning behind the inspiration is a little convoluted, and I'm not too sure of it myself)*

Haruki Theatre, Act 1 Part 1

Thought I'd try my hand at one of these. Taken from the complete translation here.

Spoiler for Haruki Theatre Act 1 P. 1:

Ah, I see what you mean.

And it's Canti, at least in the dub.
