True, though personally, the only Yuuki I've known in real life has been a guy who played at our arcade years ago, so I associate that with a male name much more easily. Mitsuru, well, it's Mitsuru.

Occasionally I enjoy doing a few doodles before going to bed. This was one of them this time:

With a little polishing, and some color, we can probably use this for her VN image so I decided to post it up.

Pretty.

A conserned Kyyonko sprite maybe?

Btw, how much time took to you become so good? I mean, just "a few doodles before going to bed"? Only that is way better then I could only be.

That definitely would be a nice touch

Poor Kyonko though. It seems like she's always getting picked up by someone and run off with.

Also, chuck Norris Yuuki makes me LOL.

Wait, Yuuki can phase through windows but has to Chuck Norris his way through the walls?

I've always liked chase scenes in general, so I enjoyed the latest ... scene? installment?

Regarding the Hauki Name Kana Issue Thing...

I think Haruhi just spelled her name in Hiragana. So, uh, yeah...

Welp, that was fun.

Umineko either had an adverse effect on this project or a good one. I honestly can't tell which.

This took a long time to write. I hope you enjoy it at least a little.

I do think it needs refinement though.
Initiating Awesomeness scan.

SCANNING.

SCANNING.

Ding!

Awesomeness confirmed. High levels of win detected in this scene.

Well. . .I can see where style differences are going to become a problem. Perhaps I should focus on backrounds. . .. .

Spoiler:

Also, yes this means I fixed Photoshop. Turns out somehow I put my CPU maximum output at 50%. Which of course anyone who is hardware inclined knows slows everything the hell down.

It's spelt ハルヒ, which is in katakana. Hiragana would be はるひ.[/pedantic]

Thank you. Yeah, as far as how I'm able to draw... it's a combination of things. I've taken a lot of art classes throughout my life, I've spent a huge amount of time practicing (like how I like to doodle before bed), and I have natural talent which helps, but I wouldn't say it's necessary at all. My talent just kind of helped push me along if anything. Practicing is the real key, and with enough, anyone can do a decent job at the very least.

Hmm...

Yes, style difference might become an issue. What I've been trying to do thus far is to emulate the official anime style as closely as possible. Try to find a lot of references of Haruhi or take some snapshots of the anime and then study them. Pay close attention to certain repeated details and make note of them in your head. You can also start tracing pictures of her. After you've done a few, try copying some, and then see if you can put her in your own pose (While still looking back to the reference, of course.). Even if there's a slight difference in style, the closer we conform to the official, the less noticeable it will be.

Looks good so far though, so don't give up just yet.

On another note, I think we should look into getting a shared Dropbox account. Basically, this would let all the artists have access to all the other artists' work. There would be no file transferring, or anything like that. For example, say you're working on a character sketch. I could go into my dropbox folder and open up the file you were working on, then polish up the outlines. Then someone else could open it up on their computer and apply the colors and shading. I'm not sure how many people are allowed access, but Kaisos and Danchou could have access as well to always be up to date on what the art team is doing.

Love how no one has yet realized who the "delinquent on the roof" is.

Looks a bit -too- flat-chested, but otherwise, fucking awesome.

Every single anime character I've seen with the name "Haruki" has been male.

I made a rough draft for the Imouto sprites. Can you guys tell me if anything needs to be improved?

She seems too thin for my liking. Maybe it's the proportion between the head and the body.

Okay. I'll try and make the head a little smaller in the final.

Somewhere on this tread it has some sprites of her by Binjovi... Anyway, the better hint would be hte one Binjovi gives Arceon last page, try to mime the anime style as close as possible.
