Perfect.
I did it! I did the Haruhi/Leeroy Jenkins mash-up.

Here it is: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=gDw0oYmPQ64

Sadly, I can't photoshop, so it's normal female Haruhi, but somebody here might be able to edit this to be gender-bended.

Still, I hope everybody likes it.

I think the best usage of Leeroy in the original would be during all the training sequences when Haruhi kept charging in and stuff. Good job though.

Hmm... The Haruki on my pic still has headphones, but since I haven't inked it yet, I can still change that. Thanks for the opinions (I'm still a bit unsure, though).

Anyway, since the picture has to be a scene from an actual hosted chapter (which it is), I guess I should go with the one mentioned there. I remember reading that Haruhi's headband was never mentioned in the original, and that Haruki's won't be either. But since there's (obviously) no mention of headphones either, I still don't know what to do. Then again, headphones are something that probably wouldn't stay unmentioned by Kyonko in the narration, but...

Oh well. I'll get some sleep. That should help me decide... Even though I also know there'll be at least five pages I've missed when I return . Oh well. Quickly advancing threads are way prefferable to inactive/dead threads.

"I swear that I didn't put much in there!" (panting)

See? Kyon afterall is quite versatile and has quite some strength. Carrying a bag, a heater or a chair's all part of a day's work for Kyon.

Haruhiverse Kyon is, though that may be in part to his constantly dragging Haruhi's stuff around.

Whether Harukiverse Kyon is that strong is still up in the air, to me. Would a girl realistically be that strong? Or is that part of her moe factor?

And I better start writing again. Maybe I'll have finished Chpt 2 and 3 by Sunday... orz.

Having seen the strength of German hostess firsthand, I have no doubt that such wrist strength in female without 'looking that way' is possible... and I still remember the iron grip from my petite sized grandmother when I was a kid! That wet towel never stood a chance.

Would an ordinary girl be that strong?

I think the heater scene would probably involve some embarassed moments speaking with Yuki instead as he helps her carry it. Or maybe even Itsuko would come to help

Yes, you could change that scene back in 'someday in the rain'.

Kyon is rather durable for an 'ordinary' person though. To think, your body has to take the head being slammed hard back against a table, being dragged about, being kicked down to the ground once... and that's not all. Ordinary is very much a 'relative' definition here, given that those attributes aren't really able to compete against an esper or an alien.

Speaking of truly 'ordinary', you'll need to look into the normal ones in Zetsubou and/or Pani Poni Dash! Comparing to Kurumi or what's her name, Kyon isn't nearly as forgettable nor as 'invisible'.

And that's the irony there... Kyon may be the only normal human in the main cast, but he's hardly ordinary by normal societal standards.

Were he in any other show, he'd be an eccentric. Of course, he pales compared to the insanity that is Haruhi.

And the human body is more durable than people give it credit for.

Well Yuki didn't really do anything that episode (expect maybe at the end), so having Yuuki tag along with Kyonko might work. Haruhi doesn't seem to view Yuki as a threat to her attention to Kyon. However the episode (looking back on it) almost seems like a calm before the storm type story...especially for Yuki. It takes place maybe a week before the events of Book 4.

Go back and read Snow Mountain Syndrome again.

Also, Sound Around, the Drama CD, takes place a short while after Someday in the Rain, which was, I think, two weeks before December the 18th.

Yuki-rin... heh.

POLL: Emiri Kimidori's gender-bended name

What do each of you think it should be?

Personally, since the original is an Engrished form of "Emily", I was thinking Engrishing typical English males names like "Elliott" or "Edmund"...

But what do you guys think his name should be?

That's what I was thinking too, although I guess you could argue that Haruhi hadn't noticed the whole Yuki thing yet if you really wanted. Besides a few mentions in Endless Eight, he really only starts paying a large amount of attention to Yuki after Disappearance, iirc.

Re: Emiri: I'd vote for something simple like Eric, long names tend to look sort of silly once Engrishified.
