My thoughts on the matter of the seal: it's possible that the seal was linked not to Rezo's life (or not solely to Rezo's life), but to Shabranigdo's (which would really suck, 'cause that would mean Lina and the rest would have to either convince the remaining pieces of Shabranigdo to free the people of Pokota's city or destroy the remaining pieces).

Also, here's a question: why is it that the English localization of the Slayers novels have the name spelled as "Shabranigdu"?

Because that's his name, if you leave out the redundant "u"s?
シャブラニグドゥ
shaburanigudu

They pronounce it like that in the anime, too.

Then what's with it being pronounced "Shabranigdo"?

Is it pronounced like that in the dub? Probably the translation was based on a script rather than listening to the Japanese audio, someone misread シャブラニグドゥ as シャブラニグドウ shaburanigudou and it stuck.

I can't see why he wouldn't be over confident, he is the most powerful being under the 5 lords.

If he was that wary of the threat Lina poses he would have killed her the first chance she got after she learnt giga-slave as that could kill him and his lord no matter where it was mis-cast.

Lina: He is my useful tool number 4

Xellos . o O (She is my useful tool number 1)

It is pronounced like that in the dub, but the thing is that I've seen people spell it as "Shabranigdo" in multiple other places (including Eclipse's current subbing of Revolution).

Considering she knows the consequences of miscasting the Giga Slave (that is, the complete and entire destruction of the universe), she probably won't be using it again any time soon, at least not unless she has to go up against one of the remaining Demon Lords.

miscasting Giga-slave would be fine too. The mazokus are trying to destroy the world via orders for LON-sama.

That about sums up episode 6. It's pretty awful.

Not quite! Miscasting if they manipulated the situation is one thing, otherwise they would be quite happy for Dark Star to return the world to chaos, but nay I say as they have too much pride for a miscast giga-slave where they weren't directly involved in forcing her to do so.

Xellos is a maz, which is the embodiment of all our darkest emotions and feelings. Don't let that trickster priest fool you! Over confidence comes from arrogance and pride which is what maz's are made of!

...I thought they were made of starstuff. (Y'know, 'cause they originate from the Astral Plane?)

(Okay, yeah, that wasn't very funny.)

Ha-ha.

Dude. Xellos vs Lina is a boring topic. If it comes to it, it could be interesting to watch. But discuss who would win sounds like a waste of time.

I think episode 06 was my favorite from this series. It was complete madness, and i loved those type of episodes from the past seasons.

Also they used two BGM tracks from the original series in this. They better keep that up.

I'm kind of with Zel. "This is the epitome of stupidity" . Bizarre ball episode that's for sure. Did get a few laughs especially with Ameila's dad being the Ball King. Could so see that guy wandering out there to push giant balls up a mountain.

Am still more interested with the serious side that came up before. Just curious what Xellos and those commanding him are hoping to get from all of this.

Peaceful resolutions are not what Slayers is all about.

What i found most funny about that --- right after flashback ended from showing the huge men pushing the ball, i just knew Ameila's Father would have been perfect for the job. Then look who we see a few seconds later.

At least the episode was better than the Retirement Sensei from Try.

Episode wasn't good as Duclis mentioned those two as filler characters. Phil was perfect to be the Rolling Ball King and Gourry is almost as strong as Phil. I had to agree with Zel being stupid. It is as if the episode was to make a joke on itself.

On the upside, the Aqualord Manga is very good.
