For some reason, making borders method in the extended tutorial won't work out with me. When I do the steps, the border never shows. :/

Maybe is there another way or an answer?

Post Making Borders - Methodical Explanation. (part1)

Original comments...

Q. Which tutorial are you referring to ?

Maybe if I explained how things work... you’ll be able to figure out what you’re doing wrong…
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tutorial...

Making Borders - Methodical Explanation (part1)
The basic concept is that you make a selection. When your doing a simple border you want to select all the pixels in the image, so obviously the best method is to use the Select » All button. To create the border you need to have a nice little 1px black line on the inside of the selection so use the Edit » Stroke button with the location set to Inside (If you just installed PhotoShop then by default the location should be set to Center )... the location refers to the relative position of the pixels you want to add, so Inside means there will be a line of pixels placed in the inner edge of the selection, Outside means there will be a line of pixels placed on the outer edge of the selection and Center is a combination of these two, basically if you were to divide the number you enter as Width and use the result for a Inside and then for an Outside stroke you would get the same result as a Center stroke. (its size is specified by the Width number)

Wow, I was doing something wrong. It does work now. Thanks.

But it seems I have to make a border for every frame, because it won't let me change the other frame borders.

Post Making Borders - Methodical Explanation. (part2)

@ Boo
> "But it seems I have to make a border for every frame, because it won't let me change the other frame borders."

Actually you don't need to...
Create a Empty Layer, move it so it's on top of all the other Layers in the Layers Pallet

If you had the top Layer selected then when you created the new Layer it should be place on top, since any new Layer is placed directly on top of the Layer that is currently selected.
OK enough babble about that...
Moving on...

Select the first Frame in the Animation Pallet.
Why ? - Because in Photoshop and ImageReady when you change something in a frame all the frames after it will be affected. So if you have a 5 frame animation and change the Visibility of some Layer (via the eye thing next to the layer name) in the 3rd Frame, the Visibility of that Layer in frames 4th and 5th will also change, while the visibility in frames 1 and 2 will remain unaltered.

When it comes to layers the rule is always: the visibility of any Layer has priority over the visibility of the layers bellow it.
Anyway... with your first Frame and the Empty Layer selected click on the eye thing next to the layer several times (2 times) to make sure it will be the same in the rest of the Layers, after your finished the layer should have visibility On if they dont, then you clicked more then two times you dumbass ... so just click one more time to make it visible
Now Select All then a Stroke and you should have a simple border for all your frames
Above I mentioned some steps that are pretty much useless, but you should be able to understand the process better that way that and I had no idea what you were doing wrong

I followed the tutorial in this thread...
And, I saw the sticky, but I didn't look into it as much.

Finished Product:

That was a lot of help you gave me. I'll look forward to asking more questions if I need help to you.

Nina was one my favorite characters from Mai Otome...
Hope another Mai season comes soon :D... and more new shows XD...
If you have any question feel free to ask... but I can't guarantee I'll be the one to answer them :P
P.S. That Gif is 363k... so it exceeds the forum limits for avatars (100x100, 50k)

Thanks.
Yeah, I do hope it does continue.

It's not going to be my avatar, but come to think of it, another question!

How can I lower the file size?
Other than changing the file type and taking out un-needed frames. >.>

I don't use imageready that often, but I remember that you have to go to optimize view, then click on the menu (windows > workspace > optimization; or something like that), then just mess around with it until you can get it lower.

It is optimized. Just that it has a lot of color changes per frame of the 70 frames. That at best, needed would be either less animation, or to go smaller than the 100 x 100 pixel dimension. For example,

...if wanting to not cut the animation.

The soft subs (.mkv things) don't show in VirtualDub...
Some help in removing hard subs (.avi things) can be found in the index above... there’s a small entry...
Quote:
How to remove subtitles © Green²
Anyway... the best way is probably to just use a RAW or to crop above the sub...
*goes back to thinking how to make the index easier to read...*
