but i don't think this is his frgament or AA would notice this. the eyes are the key here. but we don't know what kind of fragmet yamada have. We do know that seem to give him high speed regeneration(now at least.). I mean look the wound that AA give to him it's already gone.
So we don't know what that thing is....but we know that seem to work in both attack and defense.At least from what we see until now.
Here's a summary of the chapter. I tried to put in as many of the details I thought you would find interesting as I could.
Spoiler for 101:
Cruz can't believe he has a power and Disk comments that he has amazing perception but has a blind spot in himself.
Blade refers to the fights with Arclight, Kafka, and Uten, and asks Cruz why he never wondered why he was almost unscathed after them.
Disk mentions his fall into St. Rose Academy and how that didn't kill him.
Cruz recalls what Setsuna said about how her blow should have killed him.
Cruz asks how they knew he was a Needless and Disk says it was a complete coincidence that led her to it.
Disk says she was going over the footage of Cruz in the Arca outfit frame by frame when she noticed he had subconsciously repelled Hatfield's Rain Laser.
She mentions that Rin's Bionic Compressor could barely shift the Rain Lasers by a few cm, but Cruz completely bent them.
Disk also analyzed some of his used panties and found Eden's Seed.
Blade mentions the Eden's Seed is found in all Needlesses’ bodies and that only a Needless could have survived having that much in his body.
Disk then asks who it was that stopped Arca's fist in the Simeon building.
Cruz suggests Arclight, but Disk says he had no reason to protect Cruz and that the power used was not Psychokinesis, gravity, or magnetism. It was an unknown power.
Cruz asks Blade what his power is, but Blade doesn't know.
Blade says one's power and its name are recalled as if from memories one possessed before birth. Since Cruz can't recall that, he is still not fully developed.
Cruz suggests Blade learn his power, but Blade says he can't
While Blade and Disk were trying to strip Cruz naked while he slept, Blade's forehead accidentally touched Cruz's forehead yet Blade learned nothing.
Cruz asks about the pill and Blade says it was concentrated Eden's Seed and it was meant to accelerate his Needless development.
They got the Eden's Seed by cultivating what they took from Ishiyama's syringe.
Cruz assumes the pill is what caused the powers to awaken, but Disk says it only increased the Eden's Seed in his body and that powers usually awaken as a self defense instinct in extreme situations. Heading to the City on his own and the way he felt so strongly that he was a resident of the Black Spot is what caused him to awaken, so it was himself in the end.
Clone soldiers show up and open fire, but Blade fires the bullets right back at them.
They want to head after Arclight, so Disk hacks into the system to find him.
Cruz mentions that Teruyama and Mio are fighting Setsuna and Kuchinashi down below, but they don't have time to go help because they need to defeat Arclight to end the attack on the Black Spot.
Blade says he couldn't have brought Cruz with him if Cruz was useless, but since he's a Needless, he can bring him along.
They are stopped by loli Arca clones who use the power Agnish-akasha, but Disks's hacking reveals Arclight is headed into a large area underground, so Blade breaks through the floor rather than heading through the Arcas.
So is power not full awake can do thing that other can (rain laser example) . And even blade cant learn that power with his forehead .
What hell is this power if even Zero with the gem can learn it O_o
Well, here's the thing- IIRC, Zero can learn any Fragment... so unless they can only learn it once it's been fully unlocked by the user, that leaves only one other possibility that's been in front of us from Ch.1: that Cruz doesn't have a Fragment, but rather the entire power of the Second Christ. Or at least, that's where my train of though is going
Yamada may have sustained even more damage then Blade overall.
And about his fragment it kinda looks like a Space-Time Manipulation fragment now, damn with all this info it's like we were given a puzzle to solve until next chapter comes out.
And so Yamada did recover from that forehead damage like it was nothing, somehow I'm afraid what kind of monster he will become say in 2 years
If my thoughts are correct and it's indeed a Space-Time Manipulation fragment then I can see at some point Yamada turning into an "Adult" form and kicking ass.
All our thoughts finally have been asserted. Every single development where Cruz inexplicably survived was due to his needless endurance, and Arca was indeed stopped on her tracks by him.
The long wait was worth it
But I must add, I feel like an idiot for not noticing that before. Cruz sustained the same amount of damage Blade received from Kafka and his Kandata String.
And thankyou, js06 for your always welcome work on translating the scripts for us, and to Avvesione for providing us with an earlier raw
Spoiler for 101:
Indeed. I guess we can subscribe Cruz's survivability to his needless endurance and his fragment. Him surviving Kafka's attack was pretty shocking back then. He was able to stand up after getting thrown to the side right away. The repelling of Hatfield's Rain Laser back in chapter 71 was rather obvious as well. I can't believe I didn't notice that back then. All lasers go straight through their targets, but one of the lasers that's meant for Cruz just bounces off him. Kami's been giving us hints all along. We noticed some of them, but I failed to see this one.
So I guess Cruz's powers really started to awaken because of his decision to 'fight' (going after Blade and finding out that he truly is a resident of the Black Spot). This together with the concentrated Eden's Seed from the pill accelerated his Needless development. His sister getting killed in front of him seems to have been the last drop.
So just what is Cruz's power? So far we've seen:
- high survivability/endurance;
- (quick) regeneration;
- stopping Arca when she tried to kill him;
- reflecting Hatfield's rain laser;
- not freezing after being hit by Strom's Vajra cruel fist;
- resisting and repelling the flames of Agnishwattas;
- his eyes changing shape and colour.
I don't know what kind of fragment is able to do all these things. It's not a regular fragment or else something should have happened after Blade touched his forehead with Cruz's. If Blade couldn't learn it, then it must be a fragment that he couldn't learn because it's not completely developped yet or maybe it's not a fragment at all. Maybe he's something more than a mere Needless.
That brings me to something else that's been bugging me.
Spoiler for comparison:
Is the location of the scars on their chest a coincedence or what? Will it play a role in the future?
I think Blade was unable to learn Cruz power, since he has no idea what it is. Remember how Blade after he tried to take the 4th wave was incapable of firing it? He didn't know the power entailed heat absorption, after Cruz explained it, he was then able to absorb Arca's attacks.
Or that its a simple to high level of a fragment, equal to PF zero that Blade could never learn, without a stigmata.
So I guess it's time for me to make an appearance.

I have an idea...
Spoiler for timeskip?:
I'm no Imai, but if you have any Needless related artwork request I'm willing to draw!
Wow, what a chapter.
Spoiler for spoiler:
>loli Aruka clone squad
Kami couldn't possibly pick a better time to establish Arclight as a lolicon
Also, that time when disk hacked into Pochi, was it explicitly stated that it was Seto/Solva who stopped that delicious robot?
Yamada did raise his hand towards it and it froze in similar manner to Aruka.
Who knows, maybe it was another display of Yamada's power?
Just two quick ideas, haven't really thought about them too much but they might be fun to think about
I'm still curious to see how the whole ANn/Angel thing will play out with Cruz but he is confirmed as a Needless with Eden's Seed. I wonder when that will come up again.
Second thing to think about: since Cruz has been confirmed as a Needless since the beginning, question is: did Aruka know? Furthermore: when did Saten find out? I'm a little curious if Aruka told him sometime when they were working together at Simeon since they seemed to know each other pretty well and Saten has since been working on Cruz for him to develop his power. But if Aruka didn't know, I wonder what hint Saten found out that showed him Cruz was a Needless.
I'll try to expand on those later but I'm curious to see what people have to add if any on those two subjects.
So just some comments about this chapter. You got to feel a little bad for Cruz. He finally got his wish to stand alongside Blade in a fight, and he ends up being used as a meat shield. Also maybe it's just me but I couldn't help but notice that Simeon Headquarters look less like a corporate high-rise, and more like the Tower of Mordor from the Lord of the Rings.
I'm still not sure what Cruz's power will be, but Deathscyther got me thinking about something. So after the war the Second Christ appeared to help ease the suffering of the people of Japan, who in turn inherited portions of his power. He then dies after Japan has recovered. We then fast forward to the present, the JSDF is bombing the Blackspot, and Triple 6 seems to be preparing for some sort of Doomsday scenario with an "Arc" (which we might see in that Underground chamber) which Ishiyama said contains exactly 666 seats. Now we don't know anything about this scenario or even if it's going to pass, but we know the Blackspot's going to be in horrible shape. Now we have Cruz, with the unidentifiable fragment which not even the artificial Zero can learn.
I can't help but think that his fragment may be still be in the process of growing, perhaps from being a mere "fragment" to being a complete piece. It doesn't seem like he's has any control of his power, as much as he's come to love the Black Spot I could see him becoming a Third Christ to ease the suffering of those in the Black Spot. Who knows maybe that will be our transition to Needless 2. It's just a thought that popped into my head, so take it with a grain of salt.
that rain laser segment was so well hidden, honestly it was easy to pass over after 2-3 times rereading it, but finally found it. If anyone would have noticed, it would have been the most solid proof that Cruz was a Needless.
