Hey everyone,

I have a friend that needs an obscure artsy anime subtitled for a (legal) exhibition. She has a DVD source, $200 and two weeks. I haven't seen the movie, but I'm told there's not much dialogue.

Obviously, she's not looking for anyone to go gonzo here with typesetting and everything. All she's looking for is a simple, timed SSA file with decent non-Engrishy translations. That, and you have to promise not to release the finished product. (duh)

Both these series start in April so we would like to start planning.

In addition to this role we are looking for a 2nd Timer. We hope for above average ability for timing and would expect an episode to be timed within a 4 hour window (it take 2 hours for an experienced timer normally). Though accuracy is much more desired than speed. Experience in typesetting and karaoke methods are preferential but not a necessity. We intend to do KIBA as the faster of the 2 subs.

We are also in talks with another group regarding undertaking KIBA as a joint which would mean an alternating rota for translating episodes on that particular project. - Although our preference is to work according to our own protocols.

We're listed on the wiki as undertaking these projects and would very much like to honour that pledge.

ok, i know i've been posting a lot lately, but our main translator has just left us, the one that has been translating Akahori Gedou Hour Rabuge for us. so please, if you can translate, help us finish our very first fansub project! we're more than halfway through it and there's only like 5 episodes left to do.

We are picking up a few news shows in april, but we are in need of Deticated timers and Quality checkers. We also are in need of skilled typesetters.

Quality Checker Requirments:
Must Have at least 3 hours a day for QC'ing and have an attention span longer the 30 mins

, Must be deticated to the group and follow the QC format which we have. Must be skilled in the english language and be able to spot grammar errors and spelling mistakes,

Editing Requirments:
Simple, must be able to take the Translators lines and structer them to be understandable and grammaticly correct, without compromising the meaning of the orginal translation. A skilled grasp of English is needed for this job

Timer Requirments:
Simple, Must be able to time, scene time, and understand lead times and general timing guidelines. We will be willing to help you learn

Typesetting Requirments:
This job requires that you have a complete understanding of Textsub and all of its commands, and how to properly use them to typeset signs and notes, to add styles to subs. karaoke is a plus, and I will help a basic typesetter become better
