Yeah, because they would get teh same treatment by teh Black Knights. Didn't Tamaki try to shoot Suzaku when he stepped out of his Lancelot to protect the Ashford gang during the Black Rebellion? Sorry, try again please.
tamaki did
in ep 18 zero promised to treat him fairly by international conventions

Just because Zero says he will do so doesn't mean they will.

you'd think he or any of the other knights would show her some respect ace pilot to ace pilot (gino even said he had a score to settle with her)
Don't you think this is being a little naive?

I know this is a kid's show and tries to show a more cuddly view rather than reality, but war is still war.

Even if there was no Zero, and if Suzaku never met Kallen before, he would still take her prisoner every time if the opportunity is there. So would anyone else.

You think a gag is cruel? I can think of many things crueler. Imagine if this was a seinen instead of a shonen.

Yeah? And do you think it would have happened after 18? Lelouch didn't seem to care during the Black Rebellion after all. But again, Britannia's stance is that she is a terrorist that was captured. Why should she get special treatment? She gets the same treatment as everyone else does in prison, so be lucky. Again, they weren't lenient on their own troops (again, Jeremiah), they most CERTAINLY shouldn't be lenient on an enemy terrorist.

It's not like she was being treated any differently then another enemy.

in many real world conflicts (even as early as WWI) captured enemy pilots and officers would be treated with some degree of respect
then again it does depend on who the one who captured them was

And this is not the real world. You imprison an enemy soldier.

Kallen is a terrorist, they are not going to tie her to a couch and have her watch Disney Channel. This is war.

And many of those same prisoners would be tied up and gagged at some point.

That's not harsh treatment, that's just necessary.

Maybe after they've arrived at their cells, they would no longer need any bonding or gagging. But Kallen hasn't arrived at her cell yet.

And, in many wars all the way back to WWI, both sides inflicted a lot of harsh and painful treatment on their prisoners. Some just hide it better than others.

Like the United States' waterboarding torture that they use even on officers (especially on officers).

Yeah? But guess what the problem is here? Britannia doesn't VIEW her as a POW from another country. They view her as a treasonous TERRORIST who do NOT have the same rights.

I suppose some don't like the idea of Kallen being treated anything less than like a queen. Still, it's not like they were doing anything strange. Besides, we don't know who put Kallen in the suit. Suzaku wasn't the only one there.

I doubt it was. And I don't think it really matters. It's not like they were torturing her or something. I mean, hate Suzaku if he brings her before the Emperor for a mindwipe. That's at least something to be angry about.

Oooookay guys, settle down. I can understand the anger towards Suzaku, but you might be taking things a bit too far here. It's true enough that Kallen being a POW doesn't mean that they have to treat her like a VIP (though the gag was unecressarilly, or so I feel). And considering that she's likely enough to get lightly off in the end of compared to, say, the other OotBK were, it might outweigh it in the end. And Suzaku checking on her can well have been a small kindness on his part, to check that she wasn't beign treated harsher than was strictly necressarilly....

Exactly. The hate is getting too far. Besides, she's going to be fine no matter what and gain much more.

I don't like Suzaku either, but at least hate him for the things he's done and not for the things he hasn't.

I don't hate him, but he isn't on my favorites list either. Just because he played a part in her capture is no reason to hate him.
