Question 2nd Season of Godanner Confirmed?

I just finished up with the mech series "Shinkon Gattai Godanner" and I was wondering if anyone knows if the second season is officially confirmed? I'm well aware that animesuki has stated that there will be 2 x 13 episode seasons but there is always the chance that they don't have enough of a budget to produce another season.

I know I'm one of the few fans of the show but it would be very cruel for them to just stop where they ended off from.

Yeah, I checked their website, and it says "April 2004 expect a new season of Godannar," Yeah I'm a fan too, we definitely need to start a discussion of it.

Just be glad this wasn't an OAV and you had to wait months in between each pair of episodes

Actually, Koji (the red guy) only appeared in the first & second episode of the series. He got wiped out early! On a fanboy trivia note, Koji is the same name of the main mech pilot of Mazinkaiser & Mazinger Z!

Oh vio5555, thanx for the info. I tried to babelfish the official site but their translation made my head spin!

This show was for fanservice fans only. The mecha serv as window dressing and the story or i should say "story",since there isn't one. A seccond season can not help this show at all.

I wouldn't describe it in such a way but hey, to each his own. I know a couple of shows that had much more fanservice than this one. I thought there were some pretty good mech action scenes in the show.

Anyhoo, if your not into the show, that's fine but there will be fans of the show who enjoy what the show provides other than what you just described.

It's true that this series is proveing to have loads of fan service from the loads of mecha action and the tight fiting cloths and measurements that would kill a normal human. But the high adrenaline fun of mechs running around stomping and shooting and calling out thier attacks is what draws me here, as for the latter part there's other places to go for that type of fan service. Must admit though the story is pretty damn weak, but it's done right with what their trying to do.

Well, this is supposed to be a dead thread, but since it's been revived, I'll just mention that the second season of Godanner will begin on April 2 on TVK.

I'd just like to say that I too am looking forward to the new season...

I liked the first: EVERYTHING is exagerated in this anime, the character and mecha designs, the plot, the music, the colors (it has some of the most contrasted, varied palate of any anime I've seen). It's like a mecha anime on PCP.
And it's not just the women's proportions that are exagerated... have you noticed Go-chin's shoulder's and chin? They're about as insanely proportioned as the women's breasts!

I also loved how they took every mecha plot cliche, and compressed them all into 13 episodes. Actually, I thought it was pretty clever how they managed to combine them all (amnesia, loss, uncertain enemy, new guy, etc etc).

This is a dead topic... or so many thinks. I intend to revive the discussions on Godannar, and hope that the second season that's already begun airing will be picked up by a dedicated fansub group.

To answer a question asked a while ago:

It would seem logical that Anna will get a new mecha/robot. In the "2nd Season" Preview at the end of Godannar Episode 13. Anna says something to the effect of "Hashin!(Launch) Go Okusaer!" Her former unit was the "Neo Okusaer." It only makes sense that the Go Okusaer is her new unit.

The new season has taken off a couple days ago in Japan and the cast of the show will be (or have been) featured in the Tokyo Anime Fair alongside the cast of Bakuretsu Tenshi in a junket dubbed "Special Stage." I'm hoping kj1980 has found the time to attend the TAF and bring us the many wonders of said convention in words

Yup, Ep 14 aired... I looked over the raw quickly and apparently it's just mostly a recap episode of the first 13 episodes... Oh well, always next week's episode.

Tokyo Anime Fair was a week and a half weeks ago though. So it might be a bit late to mention it now...

Which is why I put "have been" in ()s... And I'm still eagerly waiting for, if any, kj1980's TAF post.

Recap or no recap it would still be nice if a fansub group would make a peep Or I will need to watch the raws. I'm so not up for it yet... .

For instance, I watched the FMA 26 raw as a test for myself--I got what must have been 15% of the conversations, just bits and pieces in between. Ah... an original script or transcript in Japanese would be heaven... [/rant]

While people living in Kyoto may have watched it this Monday, people living around the Kanto region (where I reside) were able to see it yesterday March 7th on TV Kanagawa at 25:05. However, I haven't seen the first season so I did not watch this show.

As for TAF, I wrote a brief outline of some of the events on some post a while back.

Well the only group which subbed the first series was AonE & Inf and Infusion seems to have reawakened from its disappearance on the fansubbing scene after finishing Godannar, so they'll probably pick it up.

Uh...I need more Godannar like...NOW!

So have any groups confirmed subbing it? Please let it be an awesome release like the first season was...

After that cliffhanger at the end of ep 13, I can't wait to dig into the 2nd season. The show was SO AWESOME!

Everything I love about super robot anime was compressed and done so well, so comically, yet with so much drama. DROOL!
