Fighting Beauty Wulong REBIRTH

Hi, any comments on this new series?

I started watching the original Fighting Beauty Wulong some time ago but the fabsub releases got stalled. Even so I was starting to lose interest, the story was getting bogged down and the animation was extremely poor.

How does this look? Better? Worse? Same?

The first season would have been okay, if it wasn't badly subbed, then abandoned. I'm not even bothering with this one since it'll probably go the same way as the first lol. Plus you really need to have followed the first season to understand the new one apparently.

Poor animation in a series that focuses on fighting is "unforgivable"

Actually that was a general opinion -- ANY fighting series that spends an insufficient amount of budget on animation is "unforgiveable". However, I've seen enough episodes of the series to say the animation is less-than-fluid and suffers from inadequate frame rate (directly attributable to budget constraints).

This one?

Yes, the animation was very poor.

The story (at first) intrigued me enough to keep going in spite of the poor animation, but it got bogged down in a side-story about a minor character, so my viewing & the fabsub releases got stalled at the same time. Even if the releases had kept going I wouldn't have.

Maybe I'll have a look at the new one, & post my thoughts ...

summary of episode 1

Just watched the first episode ... story is something like this:

Spoiler:

Animation quality isn't much better than the original series, if not the same.

If you want some entertainment (in a bad way) try downloading the episode and watch the closing credits, the characters are trying to dance, but it's really poorly animated.

"Kick"

The most entertaining moment of the episode...
Spoiler for kick:

while we're talking about fighting girl anime, in-between FBW episodes, consider watching 'natsuki crisis'

http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/1016.html

I'm partways through episode 1, it's well animated (old-school hand-drawn cell animation, lush and fluid), fight scenes are IMHO w-a-a-a-y better than FBW unfortunately. Funny too. We'll see how the rest of it goes ...
