I had this issue before and i fixed it, but dont know how i did <_< anyway..
this is a laptop im talking about, with a all custom xp tablet edition install.

everything worked just fine, untill i updated my graphics drivers *intel* to work with grandchase, which works fine now heh.

So im running all the most recent stuff, intel graphics for gma900, most recent cccp and direct x redist. the dx9 was what needed fixing last time, but it didnt work this time so im a little lost as to why it died =(

the sound plays, but i just get a blank window now. sucks.

nevermind, fixed it. turns out the intel drivers re-installed and turned the video overlay to like... zero. all levels at their lowest. so the image was being displayed, but in pure black.

let that be a lesson i guess to those with intel graphics.
