Couldn't have put it better myself.

What got old really fast was the noise though. I was staying at the Treasure Island and as always you had to walk through the casino floor to get to the rooms. And every time you were hit with this huge wall of cacophonic noise from the slot machines.

Well, as a sort of an upside it's at least honest about its purpose of leaving you with an empty wallet, massive hang over and syphilis as a souvenir.

A few more photos but that's about all that were salvageable.

Spoiler for size:

That's Sin City for you. The pictures of the desert are really great, btw. Sometimes it's easy to forget how pretty America is until you get away from the cityscape.

i guess that depends on where u live. South Coast is way better than the east. Never liked my hometown when I was a kid but i do now since I'm away from the US for more than 2 years

Nice pics on the Vegas images. I notice there's a bit of vignetting in many of them at the top edges. What's that caused by?

Agreed also that Vegas is a weird place, and the desert is quite interesting. I'm not such a fan of the desert by day, but I've driven through there at night - it's somewhat magical.

I find that a bit funny actually, since I consider myself first and foremost a photographer.

I think the same goes wit almost all the places not just America. I'd say it's especially true here in Finland since most of the architecture is bleeding booooring.

Can't really comment on that one.

Vignetting would be caused by Photoshop Lightroom or rather me with the help of lightroom. Do have to admit I'm quite fond of it as an effect and overuse it horribly.

To me driving in the desert was borderline religious experience. It really hammered some perspective back to my head. Did on the way to Vegas drive through it at night though it was pretty much pitch black so didn't get huge kicks out of it then. I was driving on the outskirts of Vegas one evening at sunset and that was quite epic. Unfortunately didn't get photos though.

Anyway borrowed Canon EF-S 10-22mm F3.5-4.5 lens from work for the weekend and here are the first results. Yay for super wide angle.
Wonderful playthings but almost completely useless for any practical use.

Spoiler for space savings:

Really neat idea you've got going with this months entry escimo, I love the pop out effect as well as the torn edges. I'm surprised at how natural it looks without losing quality. The background makes me think of a Thomas Kinkade painting

Well... There's a good reason for that.
It is a Thomas Kinkade painting.

naughty naughty escimo using Thomas Kinkade art! shhh, i won't tell!
Nice to see someone keeping up on their sig work! And heeeeey, I recognize some of the brushes. I have the set you're using in your "simple" one for yourself (the pink sig).

I think it's out of a brush set linked somewhere here on forums.

It was a bit of an afterthought and it unfortunately shows. I'll probably redo the whole bg. Render I'm quite satisfied with.
