I loved this series. So kick ass, specially with Apachai going power level over 9000!!!

What I liked about this series or rather about the leading character, Kenichi, is that he's not your typical shounen hero, driven by "I want to fight" "I want to beat up stronger opponents". Rather he stared as a coward wimp and bit of a pervert, yet driven by a sence of justice and kindness, that make him overcome his shortcomings.

As someone who loved the series (and hopes for a second) I am quite happy they announced this.

However, I hate the title :P

I doubt the original title is too long considering the localized version isn't any shorter. Perhaps they thought it sounded awkward?

You know how akward and funny mightiest disciple sounds . What were Funi thinking seriously . If they wanted to avoid the confusion they should used Season 1 and Season 2 . But who comes up with these names Mightiest Disciple ?

I see nothing wrong with the old title and that it made more sense for the series (sheesh ).

Well, what's the difference? It's still the same thing. Is it so much the title you guys care about or the whole show? I mean, be serious. If all you cared for the title. Then it'd be a waste of trying to get this on DVD. Muchless watching it in network alone

The same thing is with a synonym, sure it's worded differently. But they both mean the same thing. Mightiest? Strongest? Doesn't matter to me if the title was changed.

If anyone is complaining about the title, this was not FUNimation's decision to use. TMS Entertainment registered the logo trademark and name for international use when the show began airing in Japan.

I'm a little confused now. I always thought the title meant Kenichi is the disciple of the strongest fighters in history. Not that he was the strongest student of martial arts in history. This new title makes it sound like the latter.
