It seems like the story is showing that the current captains were almost all child prodigies. And a relatively new captain (Kenpachi) was a fearsome name. The same Kenpachi who easily overpowered the so-called physically strongest espada.

If that observation is true then Shinji's crew isn't really that impressive and it seems like their hollow powers are almost necessary to be competitive fighters.

Who exactly are those "almost all" you refer to? I can only remember Gin/Hitsugaya(maybe Hisagi) being called prodigies.. the current team consists more of either experienced ppl(yama, shunsui, ukitake, unohana and maybe mayuri) and a bunch of noobs(Hitsugaya, SoiFon, Komamura, Byakuya)

iirc it still isn't clear when exactly "our" Kenpachi joined the Gotei(Timetable), but even so.. NoiNoi was "just" a mere distraction, he's not in Aizen's alpha team, so he was more or less considered useless and not needed for the raid, in any way it is a strange way to gauge the Vizards strength

ppl seem to be irritated by the Vizards's bad performance in the flashback, but it's easily explained:

- they had to fight their friends and could not afford to seriously harm them
- they were surprised by Aizen's gang
- they had no idea about their hax abilities

they faced even more disadvantages than Hitsugaya/Komamura in the present

I agree with Mike here.. the Vizard's group lost here are realistically explained. Dont forget that in the fated rematch later, they are very well fluent in their new found vizard's ability.

Here's something that I need to ask, is that mask on Tousen his vizard mask? or just a normal mask like Komamura's bucket ?

Plus it's been nearly a century. They probably all have Bankai now too.

Most of them are captains (apart from Hiyori and Risa and Hacchi and kamen rider girl ) .. They should already have bankais right now.

I still want to see a clear view of Risa.. Oh btw, did anyone remember Hacchi being injured in the current arc? Because at the last page, his mask is also forming yet I dont recalled him getting injured @.@

Or even Lilinette would be stronger than most of them

I wonder what Vizards will do now. Normally they would engage in the battle with Aizen, but if so, they and Gotei 13 too much outnumbers Aizen's party (Aizen, Gin, Kaname, Stark, Halibel, Barragan, several Fracción, possiblly Yammy and Wonderweiss Margera), something hardly possible in a manga series.

I believe thats what's going to happen because Aizen has no way to beat all of them without having Vasto(Vastro)(Vaste) Lord's(Lorde's).
