Summary: Japanese electronics corporation Toshiba is collaborating with the city of Kawasaki in Kanagawa Prefecture to create the Douuble Circle online short anime series. The meaning of the title Double Circle is a reference to the infinity symbol and the community that "evolves infinitely by the energy and ICT [information and communication technology] in the smart community project."
The story centers on the residents of Kawasaki who incorporate the ideas of "energy, environment, and activation of the regional economy using ICT."
Kinako (Gatchaman Crowds) is handling the anime's character design, and Michael Karawata is designing the costumes. The characters in the show include Asagi (pictured second from left), a staff member at the Kawasaki city office's "Promotion of Making Smart Roads Division;" Akane (pictured far left), an engineer at the Toshiba "Smart Community Center;" Emu (pictured second from right), a foreigner who lives in a bathhouse; Nanoha (pictured far right), an IT child prodigy; and Tama-chan (pictured at top), a woman who may have come from outer space.
Toshiba will release a teaser video for the work on October 31, a promotional video in mid-November, and then the work itself will premiere online near the end of November. The series will consist of six 5-6 minute episodes.
Ep 1 is out, and yeah - the chara look totally reminded me of Gatchaman Crowds.
That being said, I have little idea what the anime series is about.
