HELP on editing existing sub

Hi, i am only a novice in subtitling, can anyone give me some pointers on how to edit exisiting subtitles in avi?? I have an avi w/ korean subtitles and i wanted to change it to english.. help much appreciated

are the subs on the video ( which I believe is the case ) or in a seperate stream ( wierd with avi ) or a separate file.
if 1. there is nothing you can do, exept sticking the new ones over the korean ones.
2. you can extract the subs edit them with a texteditor and add the sub stream again
3. edit them with a texteditor and save it.

i believe the sub are on a separate stream.. if that case, which program do i use to extract the sub and how do i override the existing sub after i edit it?

Open it up with VirtualDubMod, go to "Streams", and save the subs stream as a separate file. Now, you can open that separate file with any program, or load it back into Media Player Classic to watch the anime with your edited subs.

thx for all the help!!
One last thing: when using subtitle workshop, is it possible for me to position the subtitle anywhere on the screen? Is there any way to custom position my subtitles?
