English Light Novel Magazine Coming SOON!!!

Hey guys, I'm not giving to many details right now, but I am teaming up with the leading english light novel website on the internet to bring to the english speaking countries of the world, the first ever english light novel magazine, online, for free, to be published every 2 months. We are getting writers and artists, if you'd like to be apart of this, tell me, otherwise, discuss your thoughts, rumors, or opinions here.

It will consist of short stories and series. The artwork will try to remain as close to normal light novel illustrations as possible.

And the stories will all be written by english speakers. So this will be an experiement to see if english writers can write the same as japanese light novel writers.

Anyways, more details to come soon.

Interesting

hope you guys have a nice web designer at hand, Animefringe was an excellent example of how E-zines should be done.In fact I don't think I've ever come across an online magazine as entertaining as it.

Anyway good luck

Oh, no, its not going to be an ONLINE MAGAZINE like Animefringe. No, no.

Were going to make you really feel like its a magazine, cause were putting it all into a single PDF file which the public will download and then read from. You'll feel as though your turning the pages of a real light novel magazine. Which is exactly what we want.

Wait, so is this translated light novels, or original english novels, or both? I'll read it no matter what it is, but I'm just wondering what I'm dealing with.

Only question is because of the nature of Light Novels, do the names have to be in Japanese, it doesn't really matter much to me (But if its so I'll be finding appropriate names).

EDIT: Ack nevermind, I gone ahead and got names .

EDIT EDIT: Stuff sent

All IMHO of course.

The magazine name should be quite prominent on the front of the magazine, the font used for "NOVEL MANIA" doesn't seem to stand out enough, for me at least. Maybe because the title uses a narrow font but the word "magazine" seems to stand out more. The font for the magazine name just seems too simple.

"Almost 50,000 words", errrm, that doesn't look or sound very professional.

The date "8 2008 August" is very confusing. Is it issue 8? Does it mean the 8th August 2008? Does the "8 2008" mean the 8th month (i.e. August) or it is the day on the month (i.e. 8th).

"ALIVE IN THE SUPERUNKNOWN", is this a typo, should it read "ALIVE IN THE SUPER UNKNOWN"?

Choice of font colours. A number of cases, especially in the lower left corner, the font colour is close to the background colour making it hard to read. The same applies to the black font used under "ALIVE IN THE SUPERUNKNOWN", it can be difficult to read. In general the font and font colour doesn't seem to be particularly easy to read.

The images in the lower left corner seem to be rather poor quality, was this intentional? They certainly don't seem to fit the rest of the page artwork style.

Yeah, I agree with xris. I can't read some of the stuff on the lower left side as well.

Question: What kind of original LN stuff you guys are doing? Is any kind of genre okay?

well gl, english is not poetic/romantic at all...

would probably be better off being more original in style instead of trying to mimic japanese ones imo

the cover art looks great so i'll be checking for the inserts ;0

I agree about what xris said, the 8 is confusing >_<

I think it would be better to include the volume number instead, something like this:

Vol. 1 (big font)
August, 2008 (under Vol. 1 and in smaller font)

I love the illustration of the bishoujo, she looks cute
