THIS WAS MY VIEW OF THE SHIPS BETWEEN KANAME X YUUKI AND ZERO X YUUKI FROM CH. 1-40

Spoiler for tagged cuz of chap 35 stuff:

(taken in the aspect of kaname + yuuki sibling or not sibling relationship and reasons.... and in response to the shippers of kaname x yuuki who are rejoicing because kaname and yuuki "are not" siblings)

Despite my ship for kaname and yuki, i have a feeling that yuki will end up with zero.

Reasons:

Spoiler for Those who didn't read the manga and/or are still in the beginning episodes of Vampire Knight: read the spoiler (in a way) at you own will.:

1. The real kaname who was supposed to be engaged to yuki is OFFICIALLY dead.
2. Even kaname mentioned that "i will marry yuki" or "she be my wife" IF she wants to. (That big "IF" is hinting that maybe yuki will choose zero)
3. Shizuka had already cursed kaname of his future that he will live in DARKNESS and have a SINISTER future (if kaname were to end up with yuki, wouldn't it be a BRIGHT future instead?)
4. Why would kaname be resurrected as a "servant" to rido? and thus kaname couldn't kill rido. INSTEAD, zero gets to have a chance, a HIGH chance that HE, zero, will be able to kill rido.
5. I have a feeling that kaname is resurrected as the "ancestor of kuran" also to be compared to zero, and make zero of WORTHY to have yuki, once zero kills rido. If zero is able to kill rido then it will mean that zero is as powerful or even more powerful than the Kurans since kaname, the one representing the kurans, can't kill rido.

sidenote:
ON SECOND THOUGHT THOSE WHO CAN'T READ THE ABOVE SPOILER B/C YOU DON'T WANT TO, DON'T EVEN READ ANY OF MY BELOW REPLY/COMMENT because it's really hard to discuss a shipping with "good/evident" support without using the manga..

THEREFORE..

Spoiler for eh.. but what the heck..continuation of the above "spoiler":

There ARE reasons why kaname and yuki AREN'T siblings. (ironically)
If my assumptions are correct and that yuki will end up with zero then the real brother to yuki, kaname, died on PURPOSE.
and those PURPOSES are:
1. the engagement between yuki and her brother is technically officially ENDED
2. and since the engagement is cut off, yuki will not be obliged to marry kaname (This manga seems to be following RULEs and ORDER of conduct)
3. not only that, kaname died so that he can be resurrected as a "servant" to rido, this twist of fate ultimately gives zero the chance as a true HERO, and a POWERFUL one too; one that is, as i have mentioned before WORTHY for yuki.

MOREOVER..
The main theme or purpose of this manga is so that humans and vampires can live together in HARMONY as this idea is also wished by yuki's mother.
thus, there is a BIG chance that zero and yuki will be together for this purpose.

Plus. other little details.. how what a couple usually do...that imply yuki and zero as a couple blah blah blah...
BUT of course i won't list them because it will only depress me even more..

Now, how i WISH yuki and kaname ARE siblings...sigh~ that way they will be TOGETHER!!

Please, SURPRISE me. have a twist of plot, which somehow makes kaname ending up with yuki. and please.. don't die kaname ( i have a feeling that he would)

HOWEVER
after reading ch. 41, I have some doubts (but not enough to satisfy me).. For those who don't want to be spoiled wait until the 24th...

Kaname is so worried about Yuuki confronting Rido; he wants her to leave with him.....Yuuki kisses Kaname on the lip!! O__O... (obviously shocked kaname) but is it a farewell kiss? something will happen to kaname gasp* noooo (I think).. Oh and in this chapter there are other pairing moments too If kaname really end up dying.. then i guess zero x yuuki ship wins..BUT Kaname don't die~ b/c Yuuki is waiting for you~.... now i still have a feeling that Hino will do something to kaname that will make yuuki go with zero.. grr NOOOO!

to kaname ..etc

- we knows that zero is the knight and kaname gave him the power to be the king .
but still all what kaname did to zero doesn't mean that zero will even take

I really don't know if yuuki is sure about her feelings to zero or she still feeling
loyalty to him and need to protect him only .

Yuuki might do something for zero and kaname .
also the night class I'm sure they will do something for kaname .

now he can't do anything , because he's a slave for rido , only zero can .
so now .... did this mean that Yuuki feel responsibility toward kaname and zero ?

kaname : for all what he did to her till now so it's my time to protect you my hero , my love and my brother ! ~

Zero : we have been through a lots of things together and I still remember that promise !!

Anywayz,most likely I think Kaname is going to die,leaving Yuuki with Zero at the end.

Kaname has been manipulating everyone since the beginning and like what twkiwilee mentioned before,Shizuka foreshadows Kaname's future.
Karma can sneak right up to you and hit you in the back of the head pretty hard.
And Kaname's is coming up pretty soon.

But whether that was a real farewell kiss is debatable.
It's really hard to see Yuuki turn the other cheek and become Zero's lover right away.She looks so devoted to Kaname and she even mentions that she loves him where right now,I think she feels more pity for Zero [maybe she 'loves' him alittle bit still]

I mean I can see Yuuki and Zero being left alive but not officially together like a couple.
I can't really explain it right....

Well,until chapter 41 is translated,that's all I'm gonna conclude for now

EDIT:But I think Matsuri Hino is trying to sway us to go along with one couple [KanamexYuuki] but only to pull a twist [ZeroxYuuki] at the end >.>

Hmm, that is true. We still don't know much about kaname's past. (and i'm also very curious too.) If we take that into consideration, then i think the ship for kaname x yuuki will be high. Since season 1 of the anime and manga do tell a lot on and focus about zero's past, then maybe in season 2 it will be kaname's turn to SHINE!!! OO ok im getting excited now...(i think this just made my day... i'm in my fantasy zone right now )

But yes. i hope she does surprise us..

We're still clueless about much of kaname's past

Kaname is everything I've always adored about vampires. I think I'm strongly rooting for him but at the same time Zero is such a tragic character. I sympathise with him the most. The anime so far is focusing on Zero and yuuki so I can't help but lean towards him a little more. I hope they focus more on kaname in season 2, that way both characters will get equal time.

I love Kaname and Zero both. ^_^

Although I prefer Kaname over Zero, I will admit that Zero does have his very good side and Kaname is bad - and vice versa - and I have booed and awed them both for it. So it's a bit tough to say who deserves to be the "last man standing" with Yuuki.

Well, let's break things down and see what it is that Kaname and Zero love Yuuki for? Feel free to add to the list.

Spoiler for some light manga reference:

Kaname, as I understand it, loves Yuuki for her open mind and kind heart. Yuuki, even when she was a vampire, probably did not have the same prejudice against humans as the other vampires did - and for that Kaname loves her. She is willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of others.

Now Zero loves Yuuki because she cares and sacrificed so much for his sake. I don't think he sees her openness to both vampires and humans as being a part of the reason he fell in love with her - if anything, he finds that side of her naive and possibly foolish. But it is her kindess and innocence that made him fall for her.

Two great loves but loves based on slightly different reasons. Take your pick which reason you think makes him deserving of her. I pick Kaname (obviously biased on my part) because I think he loves her as an individual. Even though he tries to persuade her to be with him, he respects her enough to let her go and pursue whatever she wants to do (at his own risk) - which is clearly seen at the end of chapter 41.

and judging from the manga chapter 41, i dont see anybody ending up with yuuki >_< the closest is kaname and zero is a bit far but we never know maybe... But if asking what i really feel id like yuuki with kaname more than zero cause of kaname being so "always there" to yuuki-chan! Yey for KanameXYuuki!

cause Kaname always seemed more like an older brother to Yuuki to me....
but taking into account recent events in the manga i'm not sure anymore.

Hmmmmm...

Spoiler for Romance:

I believe that from the anime we can see some pairings like
Kain X Ruka
Zero X Yuuki X Kaname
Shiki X Rima
Ichiru X Hiou

But we can see from the anime that
Kain has feelings for Ruka
Ruka has feelings for Kaname but after seeing Kain's actions I think the feelings might've faltered slightly
Shiki and Rima might have something going on.
Yuuki seems to like Kaname and Kaname who returns the feelings irritates Zero who likes Yuuki
Ichiru obviously has feelings for Hiou as mentioned in the anime but Hiou pretends to not notice it

Personally I prefer
Shiki X Rima
Kain X Ruka
Zero X Yuuki X Kaname (adds to the drama of the show)

With all that said, I don't really have any preferences on who Yuuki should be with

We don't know about the ending because the anime technically hasn't ended yet (there's a second season in the fall), and the manga itself hasn't ended either. So no one knows. The romance is there. This is a romance oriented manga/anime.
